Criminal Mischief - Since the seasonal opening of the park bathroom facilities, numerous acts of purposeful criminal mischief have been committed in both the women's and men's bathrooms within Gille Park. The damage involves spray painting as well as destruction of the soap dispensers. On several occasions, items have been purposely pushed down the toilets causing them to overflow. Criminal Mischief and Theft – On April 22, 2013, at 10:30 p.m., a resident of Pine Street in Forked River reported repeated acts of criminal mischief and the possibility that gas had been stolen from a vehicle. The reported criminal mischief involved repeated acts of screws being placed where they could cause damage to car tires.

Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, April 21, 2013, at 10:05 a.m., a resident of the 400 block of Nautilus Boulevard reported criminal mischief to a vehicle. The damage was related to possible rocks being thrown at the vehicle during the overnight hours.

Theft and Criminal Mischief – On April 20, 2013, at 2:30 p.m., a representative of Tides End Marina, 146 Marine Plaza, Forked River, reported the theft of a battery from a backhoe tractor that was parked on the property. The backhoe was damaged as well.

Update -  On April 3, 2013, Patrol Officer Della Sala received a report of a theft from a pocketbook that occurred at 815 Route 9 N, Lanoka Harbor. The incident involved the theft of a credit card and $25.00 cash. The credit card was used illegally at the Taylor Lane Wawa on two occasions. The suspect attempted to use the card two additional times -- once at the Taylor Lane Wawa and a second at the 7-11 (by the Shell Station). Telephone Fraud - On Saturday, April 20, 2013, a resident of Laurel Blvd., Lanoka Harbor, reported that he was contacted by telephone at approximately 1:00 p.m. from a male subject identifying himself as an employee from Microsoft. The caller's phone number appeared as 315-625-1818. The caller informed the resident that there was a problem with his computer, and he needed to remotely access the resident's computer to make the repair. Arrest for Multiple Thefts - On March 15, 2013, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported involving the theft of Bose Speakers ($300) along with $75 in cash. The incident occurred during the overnight hours while the vehicle was parked in a fenced area at a Lanoka Harbor business for service. On the evening of Friday, April 19, 2013, Officer Della Sala of the Patrol Division concluded his investigation into the theft and arrested 46-year-old John Schwarzenbach of 2319 West Lacey [...]
