Theft - A resident of Sylvania Place in Forked River reported having a continuing problem with mail being repeatedly stolen from her mailbox over the past few weeks. Some of the thefts include items of value which were mailed to her but never received.
Theft - On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, a resident of Lake Barnegat Drive, Forked River, reported the theft of a 2 ½ ton Goodman Air Conditioning unit from the exterior of the residence. This type of theft has become more common, as the components are commonly sold as scrap material for a small fraction of the cost of the unit. Replacement cost for this unit is in excess of $1,500.
Theft from Vehicle - On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, a business owner reported that tools were stolen from a work truck while it was parked for several days at 811 Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor. The complainant reported that approximately $850.00 worth of varied tools were removed from the work vehicle.
Car Burglary - A resident of Wood Avenue in Forked River reported that on Sunday, April 14, 2013, an unknown male entered the her vehicle and stole a handicap placard. A neighbor reported that earlier in the morning, a white male who appeared to be in his late 20's was observed on a bicycle in the driveway looking in the vehicle. Burglary of Residence - On Friday, April 12, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., a resident of Center Street in Forked RIver (Northern Pines Area) reported that sometime between 5:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013, an unknown subject or subjects entered his unoccupied residence through an unlocked door. Once inside, they stole his laptop computer, a GPS unit, and silver coins.
UPDATE - Patrol Officers George Resetar and Andrew Slota have prepared and served three complaint warrants against 32 year-old Nicholas Fisher of Toms River for the recent thefts of flat screen TVs from the Lacey Walmart (previous Crime Alert posting). Nicholas Fisher's total bail was set at $25,000. Officers Resetar and A. Slota conducted the investigation with the assistance of Detective Ronald Buxton. Nicholas Fisher was charged with three separate incidents of theft totaling $1,312 worth of stolen property.

Theft - On Tuesday, April 9, 2013, a homeowner reported that between March 9, 2013 and April 9, 2013, unknown actor(s) stole the A/C compressor from the side of a home located on Taylor Lane in Forked River. The house is used only during the summer months and was vacant during the time period. The estimated value of the stolen compressor is $450.
Credit Card Fraud - On Monday, April 8, 2013, a resident of Bayville reported credit card fraud that was facilitated in Lacey Township. The report involved the apparent use of personal identifiers to access the victim's store credit card account to purchase thousands of dollars in gift cards from that same store over the course of a month.
