Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Elf Officer Justice – Yesterday, December 17, 2020

Day 17: Much like our volunteer fire companies, the job of a Lacey Township Police Officer would be much more difficult without the assistance from Lacey Township and Lanoka Harbor Emergency Medical Services. Today, Elf Officer Justice visited Lacey Township EMS Squad #23, where he was provided with a tour of their facility and ambulances. Lacey Township and Lanoka Harbor EMS squads have been essential toward assisting our officers with calls for service during the [...]

Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Elf Officer Justice – December 16, 2020

Day 16: Elf Officer Justice took the time today to utilize our PBA 238 gym.  Although COVID-19 and social distancing measures have greatly impacted the way we use our facility, officers regularly maintain strong physical fitness activities at police headquarters, while off duty.  It is overly important that our police officers practice good health and physical fitness measures.  When a new police officer candidate is hired for the first time, they must attend an approved [...]

All of our emergency services, including all three of our local fire departments (Forked River, Lanoka Harbor, and Bamber Lakes) greatly assist our police officers on a number of emergencies. Over the past weeks, Santa has spent several nights riding through Lacey Township neighborhoods on fire engines and interacting with the public. Elf Officer Justice was assigned to assist at [...]

Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Elf Officer Justice – December 13th, 2020

Day 13: As we have faced many obstacles this year during the COVID-19 Pandemic, our police officers have had to adapt too many changes in our daily operations.  This especially includes the way incident reports are accepted from the public. Although under normal circumstances we prefer face to face reporting, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an officer is periodically assigned to the Records Bureau, where he or she will facilitate all non-emergent incident reports from [...]

Day 12: As we reflect on our department history, we’d like to discuss the origin of our previous Lacey Township Police Department patch.  In the mid 1960’s Lacey Township introduced their township seal, which includes a nuclear atom, a sailboat, and a pheasant.  Lacey Township is historically known as a fishing town on the Barnegat Bay.  It also became home to, at one time, the nation’s oldest operating Nuclear Power Plant: Oyster Creek Generating Station.  [...]
