Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Township News – Lacey Township Police and Recreation Departments – Next Gille Park Skate Park Evening Event – Friday, October 6th, 2017
Gille Park Skate Park Evening Event Scheduled for This Friday, October 6th, 2017. The next Gille Park Skate Park Evening event will be held this Friday night, October 6th, 2017, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The skate park will be open from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 pm, with a live DJ playing music. Lighting will be provided by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from both the Forked River and Lanoka Harbor Fire Departments. In addition, both the Lacey Township EMS and Lanoka Harbor EMS will be on scene. The Lacey Municipal Police Foundation and the Lacey Township Municipal Alliance have partnered together to bring a mobile gaming trailer to this event. The mobile gaming trailer will be provided by "Party Crashers" and will be at the skate park from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Age appropriate games will be available to the kids. The "Party Crashers" mobile gaming trailer participated in last year's Lacey Day Event, and has participated in numerous events throughout Ocean County. The skate park is specifically for the use of skateboards, scooters, and in-line skates. Bicycles are not permitted. Burglary and Theft (Auto) - On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 6:17 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 1300 block of Foch Avenue in Forked River for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The owner reported that between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on September 20, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole two gold rings valued at $100. Burglary and Theft (Auto) - On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 1:10 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to Police Headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that between September 14, 2017 and September 15, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his vehicle and stole $1000 cash from a bank envelope located in the glove compartment of his work truck. The victim could not give an exact location where the theft occurred. *** Courtesy Child Safety Seat Inspection Event and Prescription Medication Drop-Box *** Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event and Prescription Medicine Drop Box – The Lacey Township Police Department is hosting a courtesy (non-enforcement) Child Seat Safety Check on Saturday, September 23, 2017, in the parking lot of the Lacey Township Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. The event will be held from 10 a.m until 2 p.m. Specially trained certified child seat technicians from the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department will be on site to conduct a courtesy child seat inspection of installed seats and to assist participants in the proper installation of child seats. The officers of the Lacey Township Police Department are dedicated to child safety. Over 80% of child safety seats currently installed in vehicles are either the wrong seats for the child being transported or are incorrectly installed. Technicians, will assist not only in the inspection of the seats but will also educate caregivers on the proper seat selection and installation.The event is being hosted by the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department. Neighborhood Crime Alert (Multiple Arrests) – Heroin Possession and Distribution – Lacey Township Police Department – Wednesday, December 11, 2013
Heroin Possession and Distribution (Arrests) - While on patrol on Tuesday evening, December 10, 2013, in the Pheasant Run section of Lacey Township, Officer Michael Verwey received information from a resident that possible CDS activity may be taking place at 2006 Brookdale Drive in Forked River. It was reported that a subject was seen at a side window of the residence. While responding to the residence, Officer Verwey stopped a vehicle leaving that particular home. The driver, 22-year-old Branden Barranger from 124 Old Orchard Road in Toms River, was subsequently arrested for possession of a bundle (10 wax folds) of Heroin. The investigation continued with officers responding to the residence. Investigation at 2006 Brookdale Drive led to the seizure of 129 wax folds of Heroin along with other drug paraphernalia and prescription pills. Officers and detectives arrested the following individuals from the home: Wessley Krempel (24-years-of-age) 1401 Windward Drive Beachwood, New Jersey Michael Krempel (23-years-of-age) 38 Double Trouble Road South Toms River, NJ Noelle Hurley (24-years-of-age) 21 Lighthouse Drive Waretown, NJ Ariela Ceko (18-years-of-age) 88 Dolphin Circle Bayville, NJ Ariela Ceko and Michael Krempel were charged with Possession of Heroin and released on summonses. UPDATE (Arrest): Vehicle Burglaries, Credit Card Fraud, Heroin Possession – Lacey Township Police Department – Wednesday, December 11, 2013
UPDATE (Arrest): On Wednesday, November 20, 2013, the Lacey Township Police Department publically released a bank ATM surveillance image of an unidentified person who had illegally used a stolen credit card connected to a burglary of a vehicle in Lanoka Harbor. After a three week investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 31-year-old Jessica Walters of Lanoka Harbor. On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 10, 2013, Lacey Township Police Department detectives arrested 31-year-old Jessica Walters. Jessica Walters also had an outstanding, no-bail warrant issued out of the Ocean County Superior Court for a probation violation. A search of her clothing yielded 13 folds containing Heroin as well as a hypodermic syringe. Jessica Walters was identified as a suspect in several vehicle burglaries that occurred in Lacey Township during the month of October. During the investigation, detectives obtained video surveillance from several locations in Ocean and Monmouth Counties where Jessica Walters used stolen credit cards to make cash withdrawals and purchases. Walters was charged with two counts of Burglary, Theft of Moveable Property, Theft of a Credit Card, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, as well as Possession of Heroin. K-9 Sweep at the Lacey Township High School - On behalf of the Lacey Township Police Department, I would like to extend sincere thanks to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Ocean County Sheriff's Department, Ocean Township (Waretown) PD, Toms River PD, Stafford PD, and Allenhurst PD for dedicating the time and resources necessary to facilitate the very expedient and professional K-9 sweep of the Lacey Township High School. The use of K-9s in the schools is one facet of a multi-faceted approach to dealing with the very complex problem currently facing our state, county, and our municipality. The operation would not have been possible without the support of the Lacey Township school administration and all of the supporting law enforcement organizations who participated.
