Theft of Prescription Drugs - On Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 10:45 p.m., a resident of Tufts Court in the Oakfield section of Lanoka Harbor reported that sometime within the past three weeks, someone removed a black tote bag from her residence that contained various expired prescription medications, including: Percocet, Vicodin, Provigil, and Morphine. There was no forced entry to the residence during that period and nothing else was reported missing.

Car Burglary - On Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 7:53 p.m., officers responded to Alpine Street in Forked River (Pines Area) with a  report of a car burglary in progress. The caller stated that he confronted the suspect within his car and the man fled toward Chelsea Street. Officer Andrew Slota located a subject fitting the description on Chelsea Street. Suspicious Person/Incident - On Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 7:36 p.m., the police department received a report that a suspicious incident occurred at the 7-11 Store, Route 9 North and First Street, Forked River. The caller reported that his 17-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter went to the 7-11 store to return a video. While his 17-year-old son was seated in a vehicle, the son observed a male subject in a vehicle near him taking pictures of his 12-year-old [...]

Attempted Theft "Scrapping" - On Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 6:15 p.m., a resident of Woodland Road, Forked River (Pines Area), reported that a man attempted to steal metal items from up in his yard. Upon being seen by the resident, the man returned the items and left the property. Based on the description, patrol officers located a 42-year-old Forked River resident who stated he thought the items were "scrap" material. Officer Abrecht will be issuing a Special Complaint Summons against him [...]

Car Burglary and Theft - A Lanoka Harbor resident reported that between 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013, unknown subject(s) entered an unlocked vehicle that was parked near Haines Street East and Cedarwood Drive in Lanoka Harbor. Items stolen from the vehicle included an Ipod Touch and and Ipod 2 with an estimated value of $200.

Criminal Mischief - A resident of Spruce Road in Lanoka Harbor reported that sometime between the hours of Midnite and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, unknown person(s) damaged both his residence and his vehicle. The criminal mischief also included throwing eggs. As a result, the vehicle sustained approximately $300.00 in damage.

Suspicious Incident/Criminal Trespass - At 2:30 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013, officers responded to Caldwell Avenue in Forked River with a report of a suspicious incident/criminal trespass. The resident was awakened by his dog growling at the window. The resident stated that when he opened the shades, he observed a white male, approximately 5'7" tall, with medium build, dark pants, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with his mouth concealed, peering in his window. The resident stated that the subject ran west on Pine Street. Theft and Criminal Mischief - On Monday, March 4, 2013, a resident of the 700 block of Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor reported that after returning home from being away for a week, he discovered unknown person(s) had removed all of the copper water piping from under his residence. The criminal mischief and theft occurred between Monday, February 25, 2013, and Saturday, March 2, 2013. Access to the crawl space was gained from the exterior of the residence. Burglary and Criminal Mischief - A resident of Island View Drive, Forked River Beach area, reported that, within the past three weeks, unknown person(s) forced entry into the unoccupied residence by cutting a hole through the sheetrock in an exterior furnace room. The unknown subject(s) entered the furnace room, accessible only from the exterior of the residence, then cut a hole in the wall to gain entry into the main part of the residence. The residence was ransacked. The residence had been vacant (awaiting repairs) since Hurricane Sandy. [...]
