Burglary and Criminal Mischief – A resident of Island View Drive, Forked River Beach area, reported that, within the past three weeks, unknown person(s) forced entry into the unoccupied residence by cutting a hole through the sheetrock in an exterior furnace room. The unknown subject(s) entered the furnace room, accessible only from the exterior of the residence, then cut a hole in the wall to gain entry into the main part of the residence. The residence was ransacked. The residence had been vacant (awaiting repairs) since Hurricane Sandy.
