Fraud- On Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 6:50 p.m., Wawa, 701 Route 9, Lanoka Harbor, reported that counterfeit cash was discovered in their deposits. Management conveyed that two $100 bills were deemed counterfeit as they attempted to deposit them into an electronic safe. Surveillance video captured two suspects using the bills for a transaction. On Thursday, December 9, 2021, at approximately 8:30 a.m., this agency received multiple phone calls regarding approximately 12 deer submerged in a lagoon near Capstan and Varuna Drives in Forked River. Theft- On Friday, November 19, 2021, at 12:36 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe was dispatched to Wawa, 800 Lacey Road in reference to a theft. The victim reported that she exited the store and accidently left her purse behind. As she returned to retrieve the purse, it was missing.
