Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 28 through November 4, 2021
Storm Conditions- On Friday, October 29, 2021, officers fielded an extensive amount of calls in connection with a severe storm. In many waterfront neighborhoods, tides exceeded normal limits causing flooding and damage. High winds resulted in falling trees leading to damaged property. Arrest- On Friday, October 29, 2021, at 5:30 p.m., Officer Bruce Carver was dispatched to Wawa, 444 Route 9, for a subject causing a disturbance. The actor, Moses Sutton, was ultimately arrested for an outstanding warrant issued by the Barnegat Township Municipal Court. Sutton was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of $1,000 bail. DWI- On Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 9:34 p.m., our agency received a call in reference to an erratic driver. The vehicle was located on Bowsprit Drive and the operator was identified as Samantha Mazzeo, 29. The investigation led to the arrest of Samantha for DWI. She was processed and later released after being charged with DWI and Reckless Driving. Arrest- On Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 12:27 a.m., Officers Anthony Ravallo and Dan Biel conducted a motor vehicle stop after a violation. Weather Update – Lacey Township Police Department/Office of Emergency Management – Coastal Flood Warning October 29, 2021
*** Coastal Flood Warning *** The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning Until Midnight tonight (October 29th into October 30, 2021). A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT One to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. Coastal Ocean, Ocean and Southeastern Burlington. Until midnight EDT tonight. At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional coastal flooding is likely into the weekend especially in the back bays. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Coastal Flood Warning means that moderate or major tidal flooding is occurring or imminent. Be prepared for rising water levels and take appropriate action to protect life and property. Follow the recommendations of local emergency management officials. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Traffic Alert/Road Closure – October 29, 2021
Date: Monday, November 1, 2021 Time: 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Location: Manchester Ave – Between Lacey Rd/Haines St (Western Blvd) On Monday, November 1, 2021, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., Manchester Avenue will be closed to ALL SOUTHBOUND traffic. Detours will be in place to direct traffic to Route 9 via Haines Street or towards South St, and facilitate a safe passage to Lacey Road. Additionally, please note that neither Gille Park, nor Adams Street, will be able to access Manchester Avenue. Businesses on Manchester Avenue, will only be accessible via Veterans Way from Lacey Road. Any traffic that uses Veterans Way or Adams Street, will be re-detoured back to Lacey Road to use Ramp A to access Manchester Avenue Northbound.

Fraud- On Friday, August 5, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., Officer Schaffer was dispatched to headquarters for a fraud report. Officer Schaffer met with the victim who reported unknown actor(s) opened several credit cards in their name. The victim reported they also received notice that an attempt to open another credit card was made but was never authorized. The victim reported prior to the cards being canceled, the balance on the fraudulent cards totaled $1005.00. DWI- On Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11:17 p.m., Officer Holt responded to Wawa, 444 South Main Street, for a report of a male subject who was slumped over the wheel of a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers met with the driver, Christopher Foster, 40, of Clairmore Avenue, Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene revealed that Christopher was driving while intoxicated. Officer Holt placed Christopher under arrest and transported him to headquarters where he was processed. Christopher was charged with DWI and Reckless Driving and later released pursuant to John’s Law. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – July 28 through August 4, 2022
Suspicious Incident/Fraud – On Friday, July 29, 2022, Officer Slota responded to police headquarters for a fraud report. The victim reported they received a phone call from an individual who identified himself as their grandson. The victim stated even though they did not have a grandson, they played along for some time before ending the call. Since ending the call, the suspect has threatened the victim and called back multiple times. The victim was advised to contact the telephone service provider and have them block the number from any future calls. Burglary from a Motor Vehicle/Theft- On Friday, July 29, 2022, at 11:55 a.m., Officer Walsh responded to the 500 block Laurel Boulevard, for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The complainant reported at 12:07 a.m., an unknown actor(s) entered their unsecured vehicle, which was parked in the driveway at the time. The victim reported their surveillance camera captured the theft. The value of stolen property was estimated at $50.00. Fraud- On Friday, July 29, 2022, at 12:15 p.m., Officer Slota responded to TD Bank for a report of a fraud. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – July 21 through July 28, 2022
Theft- On Friday, July 22, 2022, at 8:20 p.m., Officer Ravallo responded to the parking lot of a local business on Route 9 South for a theft report. Upon arrival Officer Ravallo met with the victim who reported someone stole a set of golf clubs from the bed of their pickup truck (unsecured). The value of the theft was estimated at $1000.00. DWI- On Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 9:09 p.m., Officer Plis, responded to the intersection of Lake Barnegat Drive North and Cranberry Court for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a parked vehicle. During the investigation the driver of the vehicle, Mateo Wolf, 20, of Lanoka Harbor, displayed signs of intoxication. At the conclusion of the on scene investigation, Mateo was determined to be under the influence. Mateo was arrested then transported to police headquarters for processing. Mateo was later charged with several motor vehicle summonses including Cell Phone Use, Underage DWI, Refusal to submit to Breath Tests, DWI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane.
