Fraud- On Friday, August 5, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., Officer Schaffer was dispatched to headquarters for a fraud report. Officer Schaffer met with the victim who reported unknown actor(s) opened several credit cards in their name. The victim reported they also received notice that an attempt to open another credit card was made but was never authorized. The victim reported prior to the cards being canceled, the balance on the fraudulent cards totaled $1005.00.
DWI- On Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11:17 p.m., Officer Holt responded to Wawa, 444 South Main Street, for a report of a male subject who was slumped over the wheel of a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers met with the driver, Christopher Foster, 40, of Clairmore Avenue, Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene revealed that Christopher was driving while intoxicated. Officer Holt placed Christopher under arrest and transported him to headquarters where he was processed. Christopher was charged with DWI and Reckless Driving and later released pursuant to John’s Law.
Shoplifting- On Monday, August 8, 2022, at 1:52 p.m., Officer Biel responded to Walmart for a report of a female shoplifter who had fled the store when she was confronted by Loss Prevention. Investigation at the scene identified the suspect as Erin Royer, 39, of Lavallette, NJ. A short time later, Erin responded to headquarters where she was placed under arrest. Erin was charged with shoplifting then transported to Ocean County Correctional Facility. Total value of the stolen items was $98.00.
Criminal Mischief- On Monday, August 8, 2022, at 10:31 p.m., Officer Keefe conducted a park check of Gille Park and discovered that a picnic table near the tennis courts was damaged. Upon closer inspection, the damage to the picnic table appeared to have been done intentionally, and not a result of normal wear and tear. The damage was estimated at approximately $1,000.00.
Fraud- On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 10:21 a.m., Officer Lee responded to headquarters for a fraud report. The victim report someone used their identity to secure two federal student loans. The victim reported the loan amount was for $2119.00 and the second loan amount was $3500.00. The loans were in the process of being canceled at the time of the report.
