Department News - On Wednesday, June 11, 2014, Officer Michael Verwey and Officer Dimitri Tsarnas were honored at the 2014 MADD New Jersey Law Enforcement Recognition event at the Middlesex County College in Woodbridge, NJ. 2014 Ocean County Law Enforcement Memorial - On Friday morning, May 16, 2014, the Lacey Township Police Department Honor Guard participated in the 2014 Law Enforcement Memorial service at Ocean County Park with law enforcement colleagues, friends, family, and supporters from throughout Ocean County. Life-Saving Use of Naloxone - At approximately 10:54 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, Lacey Township Police Sergeant Paul J. Sullivan responded to a Heroin overdose incident at a Forked River residence. Upon his arrival, he found a 30-year-old female unresponsive with very shallow breathing and a faint pulse. Sgt. Sullivan administered the Naloxone spray. The victim subsequently became responsive and alert within only minutes of being administered the medication. Lacey Township First Aid Squad transported the patient to the Southern Ocean [...]

Naloxone (Narcan) - The patrol officers of the Lacey Township Police Department are now equipped with the emergency medication Naloxone Hydrochloride which is commonly known by the brand name Narcan. The medication is part of a specially designed kit which provides for the administration of the medication through the nasal passages of an overdose patient.
