On Sunday, June 6, 2021, a Memorial Service for Chief Thomas R. Darmody III (Retired Lacey Township Police) will be held at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 Route 9 North in Forked River. On Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:10 am, the Lacey Township Police Department was contacted regarding a missing person from a Lanoka Harbor residence.  The missing person, identified as a 73-year old male, had walked away from his residence in the Bayberry Section of Lanoka Harbor, on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at approximately 12:00 pm and had not returned home. It was further reported that the missing male suffered from Parkinson’s disease and dementia. On April 19, and May 17, 2021, the Walmart Corporation sponsored COVID-19 vaccination clinics for residents of Lacey Township 55 years of age or older. The vaccination clinics took place at the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department, 2 Warren Ave in Lacey Township.  In total, 870 vaccinations were provided over the course of these two dates.
