Crime Alert – February 3, 2013 – Penguin Court (Forked River Beach Area)

Theft - On Sunday, February 3, 2013, a homeowner on Penguin Court in Forked River Beach reported that between 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013, an unknown person stole two air conditioning units from the back yard of his residence. Such thefts continue to be a concern as offenders commit the thefts to sell the expensive units as "scrap" for minimal value.

Crime Alert – February 2, 2013 – Tappan Street, Forked River (Upper Pines Area)

Criminal Mischief - During the overnight hours (1 a.m.) from Friday, February 1, 2013 into Saturday, February 2, 2013, a resident reported observing a group of unknown juveniles causing criminal mischief to property on Tappan Street in Forked River. The damage appeared random, and the juveniles have not yet been identified.

Crime Alert – January 30, 2013 – Waikiki Drive (Forked River Beach Area)

Theft - On Wednesday, January 30, 2013, a resident of Waikiki Drive in the Forked River Beach Section reported the theft of a green (plastic) canoe valued at $300. The theft is believed to have occurred between the dates of January 15, 2013 and January 27, 2013. The canoe was stolen from the backyard of the residence.

The incident occurred during the overnight hours of Tuesday, January 29, 2013 and Wednesday, January 30, 2013. The criminal mischief consisted of $500.00 damage.

Criminal Mishief - On Tuesday, January 29, 2013, a rear tire of a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence on Eagleswood Avenue in Lanoka Harbor was punctured while the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the residence. The incident occurred during the overnight hours and caused $110.00 worth of damage.

Crime Alert – January 25, 2013 – Capshaw Road, Bamber Lake Area

A resident on Capshaw Road in Bamber reported that during the prior week, multiple items (valued at $1,150) were stolen from the Capshaw Road property. The missing items included an air conditioner condenser, two air conditioner coils, and ten pounds of copper tube. These type of items are commonly stolen to be sold as “scrap” for only a small portion of the replacement value.
