Theft - On Wednesday, February 20, 2013, a resident of Joseph Ave, Lanoka Harbor, reported a theft from the front porch of the residence. The theft of an archery equipment (target) valued at $100 occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on February 20, 2013.
Impersonating a Police Officer - At approximately 7:00 p.m., on Monday, February 18, 2013, Police Officer John McKee was dispatched to a local restaurant. The officer met with a concerned patron who reported a suspicious adult male. The suspicious male, Bryan Boggs, age 35, of Lanoka Harbor, had been overheard identifying himself as “Lieutenant Frederick” of the Lacey Township Police Department while speaking on his cellular phone. Burglary & Theft – During the overnight/early morning hours of Saturday, February 16, 2013, a resident from the 500 block of Beach Boulevard (west of 1st bridge) reported that an unknown person entered his residence while he briefly went out to a convenience store. Criminal Mischief – On Friday, February 15, 2013, staff of the Recreation Department reported Criminal Mischief to Township property and Trespassing at Gille Park. The report involved purposeful damage to the fence protecting the skate park. Unknown actors cut a portion of the fencing and removed clamps to allow for uncontrolled access to the park. Burglary Arrest - On Thursday, February 14, 2013, Detective Brian Flynn and Detective Robert Surtees of the Lacey Township Police Department arrested 25 year old, Forked River resident Christopher Jones and charged him with Burglary and Theft. Theft - On Monday, February 11, 2013, representatives of a business within the Lacey Business Park, Old Shore Road, Forked River, reported a theft of three (3) air conditioning condenser units valued at over $1,500. The theft occurred during the overnight/early morning hours of Friday, February 9, 2013. Theft - On Friday, February 8, 2013, at 9:00 a.m., a resident of 600 block of Chelsea Street reported the theft of a $500 Kenmore condenser from the home's air conditioning unit. The unit was disassembled at the scene by the thief to gain access to the condensor. Residents should be aware that such thefts are becoming more common as the stolen metals are sold for a fraction of their value as "scrap."
