On Tuesday evening, January 29, 2013, Officer Robert Flynn, M.A., and Officer Julie Barcalow kicked off the 2013 "Alive at 25" program at the Lacey Township High School with the required parent and child meeting. The program will continue with classroom instruction by both officers to the students of the Class of 2013.
On Tuesday evening, January 29, 2013, Captain David A. Paprota, Ed.D, was honored to participate in the Lacey Township School District's Parent and Community Forum on School Safety. The event provided an opportunity for the Lacey Township School District and the Lacey Township Police Department to share essential information with the community as well as answer questions throughout the session.
A resident on Capshaw Road in Bamber reported that during the prior week, multiple items (valued at $1,150) were stolen from the Capshaw Road property. The missing items included an air conditioner condenser, two air conditioner coils, and ten pounds of copper tube. These type of items are commonly stolen to be sold as “scrap” for only a small portion of the replacement value.
On Sunday, January 27, 2013, a resident of Arlington Lane North in the Forked River Beach area reported a theft of various items from the Arlington Lane North property. On January 16, 2013, a resident of Lanoka Harbor reported that their unlocked vehicle was entered while parked in the Walmart parking lot. A black Coach purse valued at $300 and $50 in cash was reported stolen.
On January 18, 2013, a 21-year-old resident of Barnegat reported being the victim of a pick pocketing incident while in the parking lot of the Forked River House at 2 a.m. A wallet containing personal identification, credit cards and cash was reportedly stolen.
