Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Traffic Alert/Upcoming Road Construction

Location: Manchester Avenue – Between Adams Street/Western Boulevard (Gille Park area) Beginning Tuesday, November 1, 2022, road construction will begin on Manchester Avenue between Adams Street and Western Boulevard.  The construction is expected to take three days (November 1 -November 3).  The northbound lane of Manchester Avenue will be closed at times and traffic will be alternating in the southbound lane.  The construction is set begin around 9:00 a.m. to limit its affect on school related [...]

On Thursday, October 27, 2022, at approximately 2:59 p.m., officers from the Lacey Township Police Department responded to the intersection of Lacey Road and Newark Avenue, for a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles, one of which was overturned. Criminal Mischief / Theft – On Friday, October 21, 2022, at 7:44 a.m., Officer Carver responded to an Elwood Street residence to take a report of theft.  Upon arrival, the complainant advised that sometime between 11:30 p.m. the previous evening and 6:50 a.m., someone cut the catalytic converter out from under their vehicle.  The value of the damage and theft is estimated at $800.00.   Disturbance / Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 4:21 p.m., officers responded to the Lacey Inn for a report of a disturbance between guests.  Upon their arrival, officers made contact with Evan Pinney, 28, of Eagleswood.  Evan was later found to have outstanding warrants originating out of the New Jersey State Police and Neptune City.  Evan was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed on the [...]

Shoplifting / Warrant Arrest – On Friday, October 7, 2022, at 1:37 p.m., Officer Hutman and Sergeant Nick responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting.  A store employee advised officers that they had observed a male take merchandise from within the store and immediately attempt to return it using an old receipt.  The stolen items were valued at $35.97.  Officers met with the suspect, Jason Hickey, 39, of Lanoka Harbor, and placed him under arrest.  [...]

Theft – In early September 2022, Officer Walsh took a report from a Sunset Drive resident who wished to report a theft.  The victim advised Officer Walsh that on August 25, 2022, campaign signs of theirs had been stolen from the area of Newark Avenue and Calvin Street, as well as near the Heritage Apartment complex.  The signs were valued at less than $50.00 total.
