Criminal Mischief / Theft – On Friday, October 21, 2022, at 7:44 a.m., Officer Carver responded to an Elwood Street residence to take a report of theft.  Upon arrival, the complainant advised that sometime between 11:30 p.m. the previous evening and 6:50 a.m., someone cut the catalytic converter out from under their vehicle.  The value of the damage and theft is estimated at $800.00.

Shoplifting – On Friday, October 21, 2022, at 5:19 p.m., Officers Ricciardella and Carver responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting.  The store employee advised officers that they had observed a female attempt to leave the store without paying for $244.24 worth of merchandise.  Officers met with the suspect, Maya Fennell, 24, of Toms River, and placed her under arrest.  Maya was transported to police headquarters, charged with Shoplifting and released on a summons pending a future court appearance.

DWI / Possession of CDS – On Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 1:33 p.m., officers responded to the Wawa parking lot, North Main Street, for a report of an unconscious male seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers met with the driver, Kevin Devlin, 42, of Bayville.  Investigation at the scene revealed that Kevin was driving while intoxicated, as well as in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.  Kevin was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed.  Kevin was charged with Possession of CDS and Use/Being under the Influence, and was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Suspended Driver, and Open Container.  Kevin was served a criminal summons and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Assist Other Agency / Obstructing the Administration of Law / Resisting Arrest / Possession of CDS – On Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 12:21 p.m., this agency received a call from the Berkeley Township Police Department in regard to a truck that had struck one of their patrol vehicles and fled the scene towards Lacey Township.  Officers were able to locate the truck on Renee Court, and made contact with the driver, Kyle Comerford, 21, of Forked River.  Kyle refused officer’s commands and fled on foot, but was stopped a short time later and placed under arrest.  Kyle was found to be in possession of controlled dangerous substances prior to being transported to police headquarters.  While at headquarters, Kyle was processed and charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law and Resisting Arrest.  Kyle was then turned over to the Berkeley Township Police Department.  On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, Kyle was served with a warrant, charging him with Possession of CDS, Possession of CDS with the Intent to Distribute, Use/Being under the Influence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

MV Crash with Injuries / DWI / Assault by Auto – On Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 1:33 p.m., Officers D’Antonio and Biel responded to the area of Route 9 near Nautilus Boulevard for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries.  Upon arrival, officers met with the involved parties.  Investigation at the scene revealed that one of the drivers, Jessica Yannacone, 29, of Little Egg Harbor, was driving while intoxicated.  Jessica was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where she was processed.  Jessica was charged with Assault by Auto and issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving.  Jessica was served a criminal summons and released in accordance with John’s Law.
