ROADWAY OPEN – Manchester Avenue Temporary Road Closure – UPDATE as of 12:30 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2016, the roadway is OPEN.

Earlier 9:30 a.m. (3-13-16) Posted Update: The utility companies (JCP&L and Verizon) have indicated that the repairs will continue throughout the day and possibly into the evening hours. The portion of Manchester Avenue from Gille Park to Haines Street will likely remain closed until at least 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Access is available to Manchester Avenue leading to Gille Park from Lacey Road, but is otherwise closed to and from Haines Street.

The portion of Manchester Avenue from Gille Park to Haines Street will likely remain closed until at least 1 a.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Access is available to Manchester Avenue leading to Gille Park from Lacey Road, but is otherwise closed to and from Haines Street.

Access is available to the businesses on Manchester Avenue leading to Gille Park from Lacey Road.

Original Post (3-12-16)  – At 6:58 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016, the Lacey Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on Manchester Avenue near Gille Park. The crash involved a single vehicle into a telephone pole with wires down across the roadway. The driver, 19-year-old Trevor Palagonia of Glenwood Drive in Bayville, was arrested at the scene for DUI. No injuries were reported. The wires in the roadway required the closure of Manchester Avenue in front of Gille Park from Haines Street to the area of Lacey Road. The roadway remains closed as of 8:30 a.m. awaiting repairs by the utility company. The crash also rendered traffic lights on Lacey Road inoperable for a period of time.
