  • DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, September 22, 2014, at 3:37 a.m., Officers Adam Ewart and John McKee responded to the area of Route 9 North and Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a male subject driving away from Walmart who appeared to be intoxicated. A description of the vehicle and a license plate was provided. Officer Ewart soon located the vehicle traveling on Basin Road near Chestnut Drive in Lanoka Harbor and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 22-year-old Michael Araneo 2nd of Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. Michael Araneo 2nd was released after receiving traffic summons for DUI, Reckless driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle Michael Araneo 2nd was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 9:00 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe and John McKee were dispatched to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter. Loss prevention advised that the accused had entered a vehicle and headed toward Haines Street. A description of the vehicle along with a partial license plate was provided. Lieutenant Michael DiBella observed the vehicle as it turned onto Haines Street going eastbound. Lieutenant DiBella followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 near Liberty Way in Lanoka Harbor. Officers Keefe and McKee arrived on scene. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 46-year-old Anthony M. Mascola of Morris Boulevard in Bayville for shoplifting approximately $165 worth of merchandise from Walmart. Anthony Mascola was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.

  • Simple Assault and Underage Consumption of Alcohol (Formal Charges) – On Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 2:16 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the 100 block of Heatherington Court in Lanoka Harbor for a dispute. Investigation at the scene led to 19-year-old Dominique R. Deservio of Lanoka Harbor being served with a summons for Underage Consumption of Alcohol as well as a summons for Simple Assault. Additionally, 19-year-old Brett Miniaci of Forked River was served with a summons for Underage Consumption of Alcohol.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, September 20, at 6:13 p.m., Sergeant Paul Sullivan responded to the area of Beach Boulevard in reference to a report of an intoxicated female driver leaving a residence with a child in the vehicle. Sergeant Sullivan located the suspect vehicle traveling north on Route 9 near the intersection of Clearwater Drive in Forked River. Sergeant Sullivan conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot behind Caffrey’s Steak House located at 440 Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Emily Rosario of Spruce Drive in Manchester, NJ, for DUI and for DUI with a Minor in the Vehicle. Emily Rosario was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. She was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, DUI with a Minor in the Vehicle, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 1:14 p.m., Sergeant Paul Sullivan Jr. conducted a traffic stop near the 400 block of Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 56-year-old Jeffrey Benner of Bowsprit Point in Lanoka Harbor, on two (2) outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000, and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $29,000. Jeffrey Benner was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was later released after posting bail on the Lacey Township warrant. In addition, he was released ROR by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Jeffrey Benner received a traffic summons for Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.

  • Noise Disturbance (Formal Charge) – On Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 12:40 a.m., Officers Adam Ewart and John McKee responded to the 1000 block of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor for a loud music complaint. Upon arrival officers heard the loud music and met with 26-year-old Michael Giordano. Michael Giordano was issued a Special Form of Complaint and Summons for the Noise Disturbance.

  • Fireworks (Formal Charge) – On Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 12:20 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas responded to the 300 block of Beach Boulevard in Forked River for a report of possible gun shots in the area. An investigation at the scene determined that there were no gun shots, however, fireworks were being discharged. As a result, 25–year-old Franklin Bidder of Beach Boulevard was issued a summons for discharging fireworks.

  • Theft (Residence) – On Friday, September 19, 2014, at 3:31 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the 300 block of Hemlock Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a theft report. The victim reported that during the overnight hours of Thursday, September 18, 2014, into Friday, September 19, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole a blue Schwinn bicycle valued at $100 from the front yard of the residence.

  • Theft – On Friday, September 19, 2014, at 9:02 a.m., Regina Discenza responded to police headquarters to make a theft report. Regina Discenza reported that four of her campaign signs for Lacey Township School Board had been stolen from various locations within Lacey Township. One sign was reportedly stolen from the intersection of Station Drive and Oak Street, one sign was reportedly stolen from the intersection of Garden State Parkway South and Lacey Road, and two signs were reportedly stolen from the intersection of Colgate Avenue and Western Boulevard. The reported thefts occurred at various times and dates between Sunday, September 7, 2014 and Wednesday, September 17, 2014. The signs were valued at $11.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Thursday, September 18, 2014, detectives from Lacey Township and Toms River conducted a cooperative investigation which led to the arrests of two Forked River residents. The investigation began while detectives searched for Jeremy Molloy, 24, after a no-bail warrant was issued by the New Jersey State Parole Board. The warrant was issued after Molloy failed to conform to Parole standards. Jeremy Molloy was seen in the parking lot of Howard Johnson’s in Toms River while accompanied by a second Forked River resident, Kenneth Novak, 25. After the two departed, Lacey detectives observed a suspicious meeting between Novak and another subject on Clearwater Drive in Forked River. A traffic stop was conducted and drug paraphernalia was observed leading to Kenneth Novak’s arrest. Detectives discovered 94 bags containing heroin and a hypodermic syringe. Toms River detectives had conducted a separate traffic stop of a vehicle as it left the hotel and arrested Molloy on the outstanding warrant. During a search of the vehicle and the hotel room, detectives discovered another 61 bags containing heroin as well as some Oxycodone. Jeremy Molloy was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Oxycodone, and Intent to Distribute Heroin. He was incarcerated at the Ocean County Correctional Facility with no opportunity to post bail. Kenneth Novak was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Remaining in a Public Place with Purpose of Selling a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of Heroin, and Intent to Distribute Heroin. Novak was also incarcerated in default of bail set at $75,000.

  • Theft – On Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 6:58 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded police headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that over the past few weeks, several pieces of jewelry and gold bars had been stolen from his residence located on the 200 block of Quail Lane North in Lanoka Harbor. The victim stated that there was no signs of forced entry. Names of possible suspects were provided and the investigation is continuing. The theft is estimated at $6,000.

  • Criminal Mischief (Township Property) – On Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 3:36 p.m., Special Officer Russell Moller located graffiti on a township sign posted at the intersection of Bullard Avenue and Jay Street in Forked River. The Department of Public Works was contacted to remove the graffiti. The estimated cost to remove the graffiti is $25.

  • Criminal Mischief (Township Property) – On Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 2:30 p.m., Special Officer Russell Moller was on patrol and observed graffiti spray painted on the Second Lake bath house located at 5000 Lakeside Drive in Forked River. Several different spray paint colors were utilized to spray the writings and symbols on the building. The Lacey Township Department of Public Works was contacted to clean off the graffiti. The cost of removal is estimated at $200.

  • Theft & Criminal Mischief – On Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 7:36 a.m., Officer Scott Anderson responded to Lacey Diagnostics Imaging, 833 Lacey Road, Forked River, in reference to smoke coming from one of the air conditioning units behind the building. Officer Anderson determined that unknown persons cut the copper coils out of the air conditioning condensing unit. The Forked River Fire Department responded and assisted at the scene. The coils were cut between 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014 and 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014. The damage and theft are estimated at $1,000.

  • Silver Alert – On Thursday, September 18, 2014, a 73-year-old Lacey Township resident who reportedly suffers from dementia was reported missing by family members. The man was reported missing at 9:30 a.m. and located during the late afternoon hours near Hamilton Township on Route 195 by the New Jersey State Police.

  • Traffic Accident (Fatal) – On Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 6:02 a.m., Officers George Resetar and Michael Eden responded to Route 539 mile marker 16 for a two-car head-on motor vehicle accident. The Barnegat Police Department also responded. The accident was determined to be a fatal crash. The Lacey Township Police Department’s Fatal Accident Support Team, along with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminalistics Investigation Unit responded. The deceased was identified as 54-year-old Suzanne Kessler of Whiting, New Jersey. Suzanne Kessler was traveling in the southbound lane of Route 539 when her Chevy Cavalier was struck by a Cadillac Deville being operated by 27-year-old Kenneth Busardo of Barnegat, NJ. Kenneth Busardo was traveling northbound on Route 539 when his car drifted into the soundbound lane striking Suzanne Kessler’s vehicle. Kenneth Busardo received minor injuries in the crash and refused medical treatment. Kenneth Busardo was transported to Southern Ocean County Hospital by investigating officers to have his blood drawn for analysis. There were no other occupants in either vehicle. No charges have been filed at this time. The Barnegat Township, Stafford Township, and Manchester Township Fire Departments, along with the Barnegat Township First Aid Squad, and Monoc Paramedics responded to the scene. The accident is currently under investigation.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at 8:25 p.m., Sergeant Ronald Buxton and Officer George Resetar responded to the 300 block of Enterprise Drive in Forked River to serve 50-year-old Patrick Applegate with a $15,000 Lacey Township Warrant for operating a motor vehicle during a period of suspension for driving while intoxicated. Patrick Applegate was located at that residence and placed under arrest. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Patrick Applegate was later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

  • Fraud – On Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at 12:24 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to PNC Bank located at 702 Lacey Road in Forked River in reference to fraud. The assistant branch manager reported that an unknown person or persons was using “slugs” in the coin counting machine located in the lobby of the bank. The assistant branch manager reported that the bank was defrauded of approximately $1,800 by the use of the “slugs.” The machine has been recalibrated to correct the error.

  • Burglary of a Residence (Arrest) – On the two separate mornings of August 12th, 2014 and August 20th, 2014, an elderly homeowner on Harrison Avenue in Forked River reported that while he was out for breakfast, an unknown person entered his home and stole items of value. During the unlawful entries, the burglar stole cash, jewelry, and documents valued at nearly $10,000. A one-month investigation by detectives led to arrests on Thursday, September 11, 2014. Christopher Boardingham, 22, formerly of 812 North Lakeside Drive in Forked River, was charged with Burglary and Theft of Moveable Property. Christopher Boardingham was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. The second suspect, Justin Bennette, 24, 839 Devon Street in Forked River, was charged with Possession of Stolen Property, specifically a gold watch valued at $2,000. The victim has since reported knowing Christopher Boardingham from prior contact when he had C. Boardingham rake leaves in his yard last year. The victim’s residence on Harrison Avenue is in close proximity to C. Boardingham’s previous address on North Lakeside Drive in Forked River.

  • Burglary and Assault – On Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 11:32 a.m., Officers Jeffrey Slota and Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 600 block of Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for an assault victim. The investigation revealed that just prior to this agency being contacted, the accused, identified as 48-year-old Joseph Wright of Predmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, entered into the victim’s residence through an unlocked door and assaulted him. Joseph Wright left the scene prior to officers arriving. Joseph Wright was charged on a summons with burglary and simple assault. In a separated related matter, Joseph Wright was also charged on a criminal summons with harassment. On Saturday, September 13, 2014, Joseph Wright responded to police headquarters to be served with summonses.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 10:16 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Lower Lake Drive. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 59-year-old Henry W. Graveman Jr. of Eugene Fury Boulevard in Bayville, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Henry Graveman Jr. was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Hindering Apprehension and Warrant (Arrest) – On Friday, September 12, 2014, at 8:58 p.m., Officers Adam Ewart, and Charles May responded to the 100 block of Lawrence Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed a man seated as a passenger in the parked vehicle. An inquiry revealed that the man was sitting in the vehicle parked at one house while the driver was briefly visiting a separate house on foot in the area. Further investigation revealed that the man (passenger), identified as 49-year-old Joseph Dering, had an outstanding warrant issued from the Beachwood Municipal Court for $500. Initially Joseph Dering had provided a false name to officers in an attempt to hinder his apprehension for the warrant. Joseph Dering was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with hindering his own apprehension with bail set in the amount of $1,000. Joseph Dering was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in Lieu of the $1,500 bail.

  • Theft – On Friday, September 12, 2014, at 4:32 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to a residence on Haines Street for a report of a theft. The victim reported that within the past couple of weeks, three (3) bottles of medication valued at $50 were stolen from her bedroom. The victim provided the name of a possible suspect who was allowed in the residence during the time in question. The investigation is continuing.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 12, 2014, at 9:33 a.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 800 block of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor to serve a warrant. Upon arrival, officers met with the accused, 51-year-old Keith Boyce of Laurel Boulevard, who was placed under arrest on a Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $20,000. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Keith Boyce was released after posting bail via a bail bondsman. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office assisted.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 4:59 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the 700 block of Oak Road in Lanoka Harbor for a suspicious vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 56-year-old Rudolph Cato, of Darthmoor Drive in Manalapan, NJ, on an outstanding no-bail warrant issued from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office. Rudolph Cato was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was later transferred to the custody of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 11:11 a.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to Lacey Amoco, located at 341 Route 9 North in Forked River for two separate theft reports. Victim number one (1) reported that over the past few weeks, an unknown person or persons smashed a window on his vehicle that was parked in the parking lot and stole stereo speakers and an amplifier with a total value of $175. The damage to the window is estimated at $150 to repair. Victim number two (2) reported that between 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014, and 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole a set of keys from a toolbox located on a flatbed tow truck parked in the parking lot. The value of the keys is estimated at $10.

  • Theft – On Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 11:21 p.m. Officer Andrew Slota responded to the 1400 block of Edgemere Avenue in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that between the overnight hours of September 9, 2014, and September 10, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole the license plate off of her vehicle as it was parked in the driveway of the residence. The value of the license plate is estimated at $10.

  • Theft of Bicycle – On Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 5:46 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the 1200 block of Parker Street in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that within the past week, an unknown person or persons stole his bicycle from the side of the residence. The bicycle is described as a black, 28 inch, Murray mountain bike valued at $125.

  • Simple Assault – On Sunday, September 14, 2014, at 1:13 p.m., Sergeant Paul J. Sullivan and Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Gille Park with a report of a possible assault. Investigation at the scene led to Mark Dykoff of Forked River being served at the scene with a summons for simple assault for allegedly striking another man in the face. No injuries were observed and no medical attention was necessary.

  • Theft – On Monday, September 15, 2014, at 2:42 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 600 block of Beach Boulevard in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that between 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014, and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole the mailbox and mailbox post from the front yard. The value of the mailbox and post is estimated at $100

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, September 14, 2014, at 5:31 a.m., Officer Adam Ewart conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Lacey Road and Route 9. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 24-year-old Uchenna K. Okose of Buttell Avenue in Lakewood, New Jersey, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Uchenna Okose was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Sunday, September 14, 2014, at 7:14 a.m., Officer John Cernek responded to the 400 block of Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River for a criminal mischief report. The victim reported that between the overnight hours of Saturday, September 13, 2014, into Sunday, September 14, 2014, an unknown person or persons struck her mailbox. A vehicle is believed to have been used to cause the damage. Damage is estimated at $50.

  • Theft from a Vehicle (Arrest) – On Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at 9:58 p.m., Officer Robert Duffy was dispatched to the area of Ewart Road and Joffre Road in Forked River for a report of a male subject attempting to burglarize vehicles. Upon arrival, Officer Duffy was advised by the complainant that the suspect was last seen running through the yards of Whitcomb Road going toward Joffre Road. Officer Duffy soon located the suspect on Whitcomb Road. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Anthony O. Baisi of Ewart Road in Forked River, for one count of burglary and theft from a motor vehicle. Anthony Baisi was transported to police headquarters and processed. Anthony Baisi was charged with one count of burglary and theft with a total bail of $5,000. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional facility in lieu of bail.

  • Theft from a Vehicle (Arrest) – On Friday, September 5, 2014, at 2:46 a.m., Officers Adam Ewart and Scott Keefe responded to the area of Hazelton Avenue located in Lanoka Harbor, for a suspicious person looking into vehicles. A description of the actor was provided. Upon arrival, two adult females were located. Officers Charles May and John McKee arrived on scene to assist. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Jessica Walters of 26 Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor for Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. Jessica Walters was transported to police headquarters. Further investigation revealed that Jessica Walters allegedly burglarized an additional vehicle. Jessica Walters was processed and released after receiving a criminal summons for Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary.

  • Theft from a Residence (Arrest) – On Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at 3:53 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 1400 block of Jay Street for a theft report. The victims reported that several items were stolen from their residence at approximately 3:00 p.m. on the same day (Tuesday, September 2, 2014). The items included but were not limited to a Gibson Les Paul Traditional guitar and its case valued at $2,500. The victims provided the name of a suspect who had been permitted in the home. An investigation commenced that ultimately led to a positive identification of the accused, identified as 19-year-old Roger T. Krinic Jr. with a last known address of Olds Street in Forked River. Roger T. Krinic Jr. was charged with Theft of Movable Property and his bail was set in the amount of $10,000. On Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the Lacey Township Police Detective Bureau located Roger T. Krinic Jr. in the parking lot of the Lacey Mall located at 348 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Roger T. Krinic Jr. was placed under arrest on the Lacey Township criminal warrant. Additionally, there was an active Ocean County Sheriff’s Department no-bail warrant for contempt of court. Roger T. Krinic Jr. was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Distribution of Heroin (Arrest) – On the afternoon of Thursday, September 4, 2014, Lacey detectives witnessed suspicious activity on Bay Way consistent with drug distribution. After the suspected transaction, detectives approached the driver of the suspect vehicle while he parked in his driveway at 841 Hanley Street, Lanoka Harbor. As the investigation continued, detectives discovered that the driver, 41-year-old Ned Berwanger of 841 Hanley Street, was in possession of both Heroin and Cocaine. Ned Berwanger was arrested and charged withDistribution of Heroin, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.Berwanger was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of $35,000 cash bail.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, September 8, 2014, at 6:27 p.m., Officers Evan Androcy and Noah Schaffer responded to the area of Route 9 South and Oak Street in Forked River in regard to a call of a suspicious male on a bicycle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 55-year-old Wayne Sabo of Williams Avenue in Forked River on an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was issued from the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $100. Wayne Sabo was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after posting bail.

  • Theft – On Sunday, September 7, 2014, at 12:55 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 300 block of Shepard Avenue in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that between 11:00 p.m. on September 6, 2014, and 8:00 a.m. on September 7, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole four solar lights from the front yard with a total value of $28.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, September 7, 2014, at 11:01 a.m., Officer Michael Eden responded to the 200 block of Lane Place in Forked River for criminal mischief. The victim reported that within the past week, an unknown person or persons smashed the windshield and a headlight on his vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the residence. Damage was estimated at $250.

  • Theft – On Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 11:18 a.m., Officer John Cernek responded to the 1100 block of Waikiki Drive in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that during the overnight hours of September 5, 2014, into September 6, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole two bronze decorative propellers for the rear of his yard. The propellers had an estimated total value of $300.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 5, 2014, at 8:02 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Wawa located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, who was identified as 20-year-old Kevin L. Lee Jr. of Pacific Avenue in Beachwood, NJ, on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued from the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the amount of $350. Kevin Lee Jr. was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after posting bail.

  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 12:12 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the 700 block of Cambridge Road in Lanoka Harbor for a report of criminal mischief. The victim reported that between Wednesday, September 3, 2014, and Thursday, September 4, 2014, an unknown person or persons punched a fist-size dent on the rear passenger side door. The damage is estimated at $500.

  • Burglary and Theft (Residence and Vehicle) – On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 6:42 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the 1200 block of Lakeside Drive South for a theft report. The victim stated that between 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., an unknown person or persons gained entry into her unlocked vehicle and stole approximately $100 in cash. In addition, the suspect entered her unlocked residence and stole cash and jewelry with an estimated total value of $400. A possible suspect has been identified and the incident is under investigation.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 11:48 p.m., Officers Adam Ewart and John McKee responded to the parking lot of 7 Eleven, located at 403 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a suspicious vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the vehicle’s occupant, identified as 29-year-old Michelle T. Lobue of Pine Tree Drive in Forked River, on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued from the Stafford Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750. Michelle Lobue was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was released after posting bail.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 2:50 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota conducted a traffic stop near the 100 block of Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 33-year-old Christopher C. Gardocki of Jackson, NJ, on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $544. Christopher Gardocki was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after posting bail.

  • Theft and Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, August 31, 2014, at 11:07 a.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to the 400 block of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The victim reported that between the overnight hours of Saturday, August 30th into Sunday, August 31st, 2014, an unknown person or persons entered the garage and stole three bicycles with a total value of $1,200. In addition, eggs were thrown at the residence.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 12:55 p.m., Special Officer Russell Moller responded to Gille Park, located at 56 Manchester Avenue in Forked River, for criminal mischief. A representative from the Lacey Pride Lacrosse Club stated that between Friday, August 15th and Friday, August 29th, 2014, an unknown person or persons damaged four Lacrosse nets with damage estimated at $500.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, August 29, 2014, at 2:26 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was speaking with 48-year-old Jeffrey Parker of Chestnut Street in Forked River on Spruce Street in Lanoka Harbor during an unrelated investigation. Officer Sarno soon learned that Jeffrey Parker was wanted on an outstanding Lacey Township warrant in the amount of $750. Jeffrey Parker was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released after posting the bail.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, August 29, 2014, at 11:39 p.m., Officer Robert Flynn conducted a traffic stop on Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 28-year-old Kevin P. Gibson Jr. of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle Kevin Gibson was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest (Arrest) – On Friday, August 29, 2014, at 10:45 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe, Charles May, and George Resetar responded to the Lanoka Harbor Marina, located at 888 Bay Way in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an intoxicated male who fell into the water. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the intoxicated male subject, identified as 52-year-old William Johnson of Lavender Lane in Levittown, PA, was out of the water. Officers observed he was being held down on the ground by several subjects. William Johnson was extremely intoxicated and combative. William Johnson was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and transported to police headquarters. He was charged on a summons with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Obstructing the Administration of Law.

  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 10:55 a.m., Officer John Cernek responded to an East Lacey Road residence in Forked River for damage to a vehicle. The complainant reported that during the overnight hours of August 27th into August 28th, 2014, an unknown person or persons damaged his vehicle. The damage consisted of a smashed driver’s-side window. The vehicle was parked in the driveway at the time of the incident. The damage is estimated at $500.

  • Distribution of Heroin (Arrests) – On the morning of Wednesday, August 27, 2014, Lacey detectives witnessed suspicious activity on Constitution Drive in Forked River.  Further investigation led to the arrest of two suspects in a motor vehicle and one pedestrian. The investigation revealed that the pedestrian, 22-year-old Maureen Marsh of 360 Constitution Drive met with a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Dana Kutassy of 431 Cabot Street in Forked River and a passenger, 25-year-old Paul Townsend of 11 Eno’s Lane in Forked River. During the meeting, the occupants of the vehicle purchased Heroin from Marsh. All three subjects were arrested. Paul Townsend and Dana Kutassy were charged with Possession of Heroin and Destruction of Physical Evidence. Maureen Marsh was charged with Possession of Heroin and Distribution of Heroin.

  • Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary and Criminal Mischief – On Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 8:22 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to headquarters for an attempted burglary report. The victim reported that between 6:00 p.m. on August 21st and 7:30 p.m. on August 27th, 2014, an unknown person or persons attempted to enter a residence located on the 700 block of Oak Road in Lanoka Harbor while the residents were not home. The unknown person or persons reportedly damaged both the rear screen door and sliding door while attempting to gain access. It does not appear entry was gained and nothing was stolen from the residence. The damage is estimated at $400.

  • Multiple Warrants (Arrest) – On Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 10:55 a.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Kymberly Gudgeon responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Drive for a dispute. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 42-year-old Kenneth W. Vanlenten of Chestnut Street in Forked River on three outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrants. Warrant number one (1) was a no-bail warrant for Theft and warrant number two (2) was also a no-bail warrant for Shoplifting. Warrant number three (3) was issued for Failure to Pay Child Support; and the bail was $7,823.89. Kenneth Vanlenten was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Underage Consumption of Alcohol on Private Property – On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at 11:03 p.m., Officers Darrell Nick and Julie Barcalow responded to a Llewellyn Parkway residence in Forked River for a report of a loud party. Upon arrival, the officers located several juveniles consuming alcohol. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of two males for underage consumption of alcohol on private property. The two males were identified as 18-year-old Tycen Stiffler of Lawrence Drive in Lanoka Harbor and 18-year-old Gage Matthews of Lawrence Drive in Lanoka Harbor. They were both charged on a complaint summons and released at the scene pending a court date. In addition, two juveniles were also charged with underage consumption of alcohol on private property. The juveniles included a 16-year-old female from Lanoka Harbor, and a 15-year-old female from Forked River. Both juveniles were released at the scene to guardians. In addition, a 17-year-old female who was hosting the party was charged on a juvenile complaint with providing alcoholic beverages to persons underage.

  • Theft – On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at 4:46 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to police headquarters for a report of a theft. The victim reported that between 8:00 p.m. on August 22nd and 8:00 a.m. on August 24th, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole property from the exterior of his home located on the 700 block of Briar Road in Lanoka Harbor, including a patio chair, a 15-foot aluminum ladder, and two lawn rakes. The total theft is estimated at $500.

  • Theft – On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at 2:28 p.m., Officer John Cernek responded to the 100 block of Froghollow Road in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that between Saturday, August 23rd and Tuesday, August 26th, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole his gas-powered cement mixer that was left in the yard. The valued is estimated at $1,000.

  • Drug Possession and Underage Consumption of Alcohol (Arrest) – The original posting regarding this incident had errors and has since been corrected. On Monday, September 1, 2014, at 10:53 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Noah Schaffer responded to a Carolyn Court residence in Lanoka Harbor for a loud party. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Marcus Gervasini of Leanne Court in Forked River for Possession of Marijuana and Obstructing the Administration of Law. In addition, he was charged with Underage Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on Private Property. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving a criminal summons. Complaints against additional persons are forthcoming for Underage Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on Private Property and Making Alcoholic Beverages Available to Underage Persons.

  • Drug Possession and Drug Paraphernalia (Arrest) – on Monday, September 1, 2014, at 9:48 p.m., Officers George Resetar and Andrew Slota were on a directed enforcement detail patrolling parking lots when they observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Retro Fitness, located on Route 9 South in Forked River, which was closed at the time. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest 23-year-old Sean Scalise of Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sean Scalise was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He also received motor vehicle summonses for Possessing CDS in a Motor Vehicle and for being an Unlicensed Driver.
