Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Blotter – February 18th thru 24th, 2015

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 12:24 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver identified as 29-year-old Victoria L. Thomas of Alpine Street in Forked River for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Victoria L. Thomas was charged on traffic summonses with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Theft – On Monday, February 23, 2015, at 8:03 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the 400 block of Beach Boulevard in Forked River for a theft. The victim reported that between the hours of 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2015, her bedroom was entered and approximately $50 in loose change was removed. The victim provided the name of a suspect who was in the residence during the time in question. There were no signs of forced entry.

  • Trespassing – On Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 1:45 p.m., Officers Evan Androcy and Darrell Nick responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an adult male trespassing in the store. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 37-year-old Charles Wolf of Keller Street in Bayville, NJ, for defiant trespass. Charles Wolf was previously informed he was no longer allowed in the store after allegedly threatening an employee. Charles Wolf was charged with Defiant Trespassing.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 4:42 a.m., Officer George Resetar responded to Teakwood Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a suspicious incident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 22-year-old Richard A. Vogel, Jr. of Revere Drive in Little Egg Harbor, NJ, for DUI. Richard Vogel, Jr., was transported to police headquarters, processed, and issued summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 10:37 p.m., Officer Adam Ewart conducted a traffic stop on Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 18-year-old Louis Dautorio of Center Street in Forked River for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Louis Dautorio was charged on a criminal summons with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, he was charged on traffic summonses with Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Speeding.

  • Traffic Accident – On Friday, February 20, 2015, at 12:32 P.M., Officers Noah Schaffer, Michael Hein, and Jeffrey Slota responded to Route 9 North near Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor for a one-car motor vehicle crash involving a utility pole. The utility pole split causing live electrical wires to fall to the ground. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Route 9 after leaving the Wawa when it veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The vehicle’s driver, 53-year-old Lisa Licknack of Kennebec Road in Forked River, sustained a minor injury and was transported to the hospital. She later received traffic summonses for Careless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor was closed for several hours between South Street and Route 9 while the utility pole was repaired. The Lanoka Harbor Fire Department, along with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, assisted at the scene.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 6:05 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and Dimitrios Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Lakeside Drive South near Parker Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 25-year-old Andrew C. Simon, 3rd of Conifer Drive in Forked River, on a Pine Beach Borough Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500 and two Monmouth Beach Municipal Court warrants in the amount of $750 each. Andrew Simons, 3rd was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and then released after posting full bail on the warrants. Andrew Simons 3rd was also charged on traffic summonses with Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 9:30 p.m., Officer Charles May conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Liberty Way in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 35-year-old Jennifer Toomey of Ash Road in Lanoka Harbor on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. She was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and released after posting full bail. Jennifer Toomey was also charged on traffic summonses with Driving with a Suspended License and Failure to Exhibit an Insurance Card.

  • Shoplifting and Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 1:36 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Jason Lee responded to Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for the report of shoplifting. The complainant reported that a male and female attempted to push a shopping cart full of merchandise out of the store without paying before being stopped by loss prevention employees. The couple left the cart and fled the area in a vehicle. A description of the vehicle, along with the license plate number was provided. Officer Jeffrey Slota located the vehicle on Surrey Court in Forked River and conducted a traffic stop. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 20-year-old Jessica Calpin of Hawser Drive in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $809.67 from Walmart. The male passenger, identified as 33-year-old Christopher Parker of Frederick Drive in Bayville, was arrested on several outstanding warrants. The warrants included a Berkeley Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $476, a Wall Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $104, and a Little Egg Harbor Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $300. They were transported to police headquarters and processed. Jessica Calpin was charged on a criminal summons with Shoplifting. Christopher Parker was turned over to the custody of the Berkeley Township Police Department. The male subject who was involved in the initial shoplifting has yet to be identified and charges are pending. The investigation is continuing.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 1:01 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Jason Lee responded to Riggs Funeral Home located at 130 Route 9 North in Forked River for a theft from a vehicle. The complainant reported that between Thursday, January 29, 2015, and Wednesday, February 18, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle parked in the parking lot and stole a stereo head unit valued at $250.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, February 18, 2015, at 1:26 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno stopped a suspicious male walking on Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Kevin Braun of Arverne Avenue in Ocean Gate, NJ, on an outstanding Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $400. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kevin Braun was turned over to the custody of the Toms River Township Police Department.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – February 11th thru 17th, 2015

  • Armed Robbery (Handgun) – On Sunday, February 15, 2015, at 11:10 a.m., the Lacey Township Police Department responded to the Country Farms Store located within Eric Plaza on Lacey Road in Forked River with a report of an armed robbery. The suspect is described as a white male, medium build, possibly in his mid to late 30′s, approximately 5’11″ to 6’1″ tall, wearing a black and white checkered flannel jacket, a black hoody under the flannel, a black skull cap with a squared logo, dark pants, sneakers, and sunglasses. The hair color of the suspect is unknown and he had no facial hair at the time of the robbery. The man entered the store, brandished a black handgun, and fled the store after demanding and receiving cash from the clerk. The man was observed entering a light green, older model, 4 door sedan, unknown model (similar to a Ford Taurus). The vehicle left the area west on Adolphus Street toward Lake Barnegat Drive North in Forked River. The Lacey Township Police Department patrol division personnel conducted a search for the vehicle. A countywide alert (MOCIB) was issued at the time of the initial report. Detective Robert Surtees responded and is conducting the follow-up investigation. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Unit responded to assist with the processing of the scene and the collection of images and video from the business surveillance system.
  • Structure Fire – On Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 9:14 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to 3 Hill Top Court in Lanoka Harbor for a shed fire. The Lanoka Harbor Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The Ocean County Fire Marshal responded to investigate. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The shed contained, but was not limited to, a Quad, Motorcycle, and various tools. There were no reported injuries.

  • Theft (Arrests) – On Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 5:36 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins and Officer Michael Verwey met with a manager of Burger King located at 346 Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor in reference to a theft that had occurred on February 1, 2015. Investigation of the incident led to the arrest of two employees of Burger King: 23-year-old Zachary Kochel of Illinois Avenue in Waretown and 21-year-old Devianne Certisimo of Charles Avenue in Toms River. While closing the store around 1:00 a.m. on February 1, 2015, Zachary Kochel and Devianne Certisimo reportedly staged a burglary and stole $500 in cash. A short while later, they decided to return most of the money. $407 of the stolen money was returned to the store safe shortly after it had been stolen. Zachary Kochel and Devianne Certisimo were both charged with Theft of Movable Property.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 2:04 p.m., officers responded to the area of Route 9 North and South Street in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. The caller witnessed the vehicle strike a fence and bushes in front of the Wawa located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor and then fled North on Route 9. Officers Darrell Nick and Christopher Meyler arrived on scene and located the vehicle on Camelot Court in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 46-year-old Scott J. Urbano of Chestnut Drive in Lanoka Harbor for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an Accident. The vehicle Scott Urbano was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Criminal Mischief to a Residential Shed – On Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 4:29 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1200 block of Spruce Street in Forked River for a suspicious incident. The complainant reported that between 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, and 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015, an unknown person or persons attempted to gain entry to a rear shed by attempting to pry open the doors. At the time of the report, it does not appear that entry was gained and nothing appeared to be missing from within the shed. Damage is estimated at $25.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 2:37 p.m., Officers Jeffrey Slota and Michael Hein responded to the Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a male shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 53-year-old James Cort of Olds Street in Forked River for shoplifting. James Cort was transported to police headquarters, processed and charged with Shoplifting.

  • Drug Possession and Warrant (Arrests) – On Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 1:41 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Jason Lee responded to the 600 block of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River for a report of a dispute. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 22-year-old Danny Skinner 3rd of New Street in Toms River, NJ, on a Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $100; a Toms River Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $400; and a no-bail warrant issued by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Danny Skinner was also found to be in possession of CDS (Clonazepam and Buprenorphine Hydrochloride). A second male subject at the scene, identified as 22-year-old Martin Brown 3rd of Route 70 East in Lakehurst, NJ, was arrested on an outstanding Lakehurst Borough Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $3,238. Both subjects were transported to police headquarters and processed. Martin Brown 3rd was turned over to the custody of the Lakehurst Borough Police Department. Danny Skinner was charged with two counts of Possession of CDS, specifically Clonazepam and Buprenorphine Hydrochloride, Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute, False Reports to Incriminate Another, Obstructing the Administration of Law, and Hindering His Own Apprehension by Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer. His bail was set at $50,000. Danny Skinner 3rd was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Theft of a Motorcycle – on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 9:55 a.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to the 400 block of Bay Way in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The victim reported that between 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 and 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, an unknown person or persons stole a dirt bike from a trailer that was parked in front of the residence. The dirt bike was described as an older white, yellow, and blue Yamaha YZ80 dirt bike. The exact year of the dirt bike is unknown. The approximate valued of the dirt bike is $500.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 10:15 p.m., Officer George Resetar was patrolling Good Luck Road in the Bamber Lake section of Forked River when he observed a suspicious vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 20-year-old Samantha K. Torro of West Arverne Avenue in Ocean Gate, NJ, for Possession of Marijuana. She was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

  • Theft – On Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 6:35 p.m. Officer Noah Schaffer responded to 618 Alpine Street in Forked River for the report of a theft. The victim reported that at approximately 11:50 a.m. on February 7, 2015, two Caucasian males (believed to be in their late teens or early twenties) dressed in dark clothing entered onto his property. One of the males then reportedly stole a FedEx package from his front porch. The incident was caught on his surveillance camera. The package that was stolen contained two Curt Brand, black metal Trailer Sway Hitches valued at $86.

  • Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 2:08 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota was dispatched to the 800 block of Windward Drive in Forked River for a possible brush fire in front of a residence. Upon arrival, Officer Slota determined that the smoke and fire was isolated to a mailbox. It appeared that an unknown person or persons set off fireworks inside the mailbox. The damage to the mailbox is estimated at $200.

  • Possession of Alcohol (Juvenile) – On Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 12:02 p.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to the Lacey Township High School in reference to a 16-year-old juvenile female that was in possession of alcohol on school property. The parent of the juvenile was notified. The juvenile was charged with possession of alcohol.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – February 3rd thru 10th, 2015

  • Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief, Shoplifting, Warrant, and Possession of Syringes (Arrests) – On Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 12:24 a.m., Officers Brian Holt and John D. Simonson responded to the Lacey Amoco on Route 9 in Forked River for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The complainant reported that on Friday, February 6, 2015, at approximately 11:00 p.m., an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot and stole property from inside the vehicle. The value of the stolen property was estimated at $1,000. The property included but was not limited to a purse, cell phone, tablet, and cash.
  • On Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 1:37 p.m., Officers Christopher Meyler and Darrell Nick responded to the St. Pius Church on Lacey Road for a report of a burglary and theft. The complainant reported that between 12:15 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., an unknown person or persons pried open the administration office door of the church and appeared to have gone through the drawers in the office. Approximately $100 in cash was taken. In addition, the doors on the northeast side of the building, which connect the parish hall to the CCD classes, were also damaged. The total damage was estimated at $500. Lacey Township Police Department Detective Samuel Della Sala, along with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigations Unit, responded to the scene to investigate.

    Later in the day on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 5:55 p.m., Officers John D. Simonson and Brian Holt responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for two adult male shoplifters in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 27-year-old Michael Disabato of Compass Drive in Waretown and 27-year-old Scott A. Bennett of Yorktown Drive in Forked River for shoplifting merchandise valued at $144. Michael Disabato was also found to be in possession of hypodermic syringes. Scott Bennett also had an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant in the amount of $10,000. Both arrestees were transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters.

    While the two subjects were in custody and as the investigation into the St. Pius Church burglary continued, the investigation led to charges being signed against Michael Disabato and Scott Bennett for the Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of Burglary Tools for the St. Pius Church incident. Bail for those offenses was set in the amount of $25,000. Michael Disabato was also charged on a warrant with the Burglary and Theft from the vehicle at Lacey Amoco with bail set in the amount of $15,000. Michael Disabato was also charged on a warrant with shoplifting and Possession of Hypodermic Syringes for the incident at Walmart with bail set in the amount of $5,000. Both subjects were transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Shoplifting, Warrant, and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 10:29 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Patrick Watkins responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a male shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old Matthew Dellapietro of Pheasant Drive in Bayville for shoplifting merchandise valued at $15. Matthew Dellapietro also had an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department no-bail warrant and was found to be in possession of Heroin. Matthew Dellapietro was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged with shoplifting and possession of Heroin on a criminal warrant. Bail was set in the amount of $2,500. Matthew Dellapietro was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 12:47 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Laurel Plaza located at 629 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the registered owner of the vehicle, 33-year-old Todd Mundy of Merrimac Drive in Forked River on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court criminal warrant in the amount of $500. Todd Mundy was a transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and released after posting full bail. Todd Mundy was also issued a traffic summons for driving while suspended.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 11:08 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey along with officers from the Ship Bottom Police Department responded to a Rogers Street residence in Lanoka Harbor to serve a Ship Bottom Borough Court Warrant in the amount of $10,000 on 28-year-old Michael Lugo. Upon arrival, the officers located Michael Lugo and placed him under arrest on the warrant. Michael Lugo was turned over to the custody of the Ship Bottom Police Department.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 10:16 a.m. Officer Evan Androcy conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the parking area of Delta Gas located at 602 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 61-year-old Mary Power of Bowsprit Point in Lanoka Harbor on several outstanding traffic warrants. The warrants included a Cherry Hill Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $750, a Toms River Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $500, and a Jackson Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $250. Mary Power was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and released after posting full bail on the warrants. The vehicle she was operating was impounded for no insurance. Mary Power was issued traffic summonses for Driving While Suspended, Suspended Registration, and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.

  • Warrant and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 1:48 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop on Pensacola Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, identified as 19-year-old Brandon Venditto of Ravenwood Drive in Barnegat, NJ, on a no-bail Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Warrant. In addition, he was found to be in possession of Marijuana. Brandon Venditto was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged with Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Brandon Venditto was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility on the no bail warrant.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, February 6, 2015, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Officers John McKee and Michael Verwey arrested 35-year-old John J. Platt of Woodlawn Drive in Forked River at his residence on an outstanding Camden City Municipal Court Warrant in the amount of $401. John Platt was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed. John J. Platt was released on his own recognizance by the Camden City Municipal Court Clerk.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Friday, February 6, 2015, at 9:21 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the Lacey Mall located at 348 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a theft report. The victim reported that between 3:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked in the rear of Lacey Mall and stole $165 worth of property including but not limited to: three (3) Books on CD and a wallet containing miscellaneous documents. The incident is under investigation.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 9:17 a.m., Officers Jason Lee and Frederick Anderson conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Harzold Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Theodore Vansanten of Chelsea Street in Forked River on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $350. Theodore Vansanten was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and released after posting full bail.

  • Theft (Arrest) – On Wednesday, February 4, 2015, Officer Jason Lee and Officer Frederick Anderson arrested 42-year-old Erik M. Tobin of 603 Arlington Lane North in Forked River as a result of a theft report that was received on January 28, 2014. Investigation into the incident led to Erik M. Tobin being charged on a warrant with Receiving Stolen Property and Theft by Deception. Bail was set at $10,000. The charges came as a result of stolen property being sold to a local pawn shop. Erik M. Tobin was served at the Ocean County Correctional Facility where he was being lodged on charges out of another jurisdiction.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – January 27, 2015 thru February 2, 2015

  • Fraud (Alert) – On Friday, January 30, 2015, at 6:33 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to a Shepard Avenue address in Forked River in reference to a report of fraud. The victim reported that she received a phone call at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, from someone who identified himself as working for the “Prosecutors of the IRS.” The caller informed her that she owed taxes from the years 2000-2014 and needed to make payments. The caller advised her of different amounts of money that she owed and told her to purchase prepaid VISA Green DOT cards. The victim purchased approximately $10,658 worth of the VISA Green DOT cards and provided the card numbers and security codes over the phone at different times over a three day period. The victim reported that she spoke with several different people who alleged to be from the “Prosecutors of the IRS” and they were convincing because they had her and her husband’s personal information when they spoke with her.
  • Drug Possession, Warrant Arrest, and Hindering Apprehension (Arrest) – On Friday, January 30, 2015, at 11:15 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Sylvania Place near Olds Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver identified as 39-year-old Bobbiejo Cummings of Leeward Avenue in Beachwood, NJ for Hindering Her Own Apprehension by Providing a False Name in an attempt to conceal five outstanding warrants for her arrest. Warrant numbers one through three were all issued by the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the amount of $350 each. Warrants number four and five were both issued by the Little Egg Harbor Township Municipal Court and were in the amount of $550 each. Further investigation led to the arrest of the vehicle passenger, identified as 26-year-old Oscar hardy of Carteret Avenue in Seaside Heights, NJ, for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were both transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters and processed. Oscar Hardy was charged on a criminal summons with Possession of Marijuana. Bobbiejo Cummings was charged on a criminal warrant with Hindering Apprehension with bail set in the amount of $5,000. Bobbiejo Cummings was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail. She was also issued motor vehicle summonses for Maintenance of Lamps, Driving While Suspended, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

  • Robbery/Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Friday, January 30, 2015, at 6:55 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Patrick Watkins responded to Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for an adult male shoplifter that fled the store in a vehicle after assaulting an employee. A description of the accused and the vehicle, along with a license plate, was provided. The investigation revealed that the accused stole property valued at $111.47 including but not limited to a portable hard drive. The accused was identified as 32-year-old Richard Witzig of Windward Drive in Barnegat, NJ. He was charged on a warrant with Robbery with bail set in the amount of $125,000. The warrant was later served by the Barnegat Township Police Department. Richard Witzig was processed by the Lacey Township Police and then lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, February 1, 2015, at 9:50 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Lake Barnegat Drive near Lakeside Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 26-year-old Alan Hill of Taylor Lane in Forked River on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750. Alan Hill was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 10:34 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was on patrol in the area of William Street in Forked River when he observed 28-year-old Dillon Dittenhofer of William Street in Forked River. Officer Sarno was aware of an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Officer Sarno placed Dillon Dittenhofer under arrest on an outstanding Seaside Heights Municipal Court warrant. He was transported to police headquarters and processed and then released on his own recognizance by the Seaside Heights Municipal Court Clerk.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Friday, January 30, 2015, at 10:15 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to a residence on Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that during the overnight hours of January 30, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered through the unlocked driver’s side door of his vehicle as it was parked in the driveway. The victim reported that a $10 lottery ticket and $2 in quarters were stolen.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Friday, January 30, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., Officers Christopher Meyler and Darrell Nick responded to the 900 block of Seagull Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The complainant stated that between 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015, and 7:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway of his residence and stole his wallet. The wallet consisted of cash, credit cards, and miscellaneous items, with a total value of $62. Neighbors reportedly observed a male subject dressed in dark clothing and a dark hat walking around the area during the time of theft.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Friday, January 30, 2015, at 5:30 a.m., Officer Michael Eden responded to the 700 block of Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a theft. The complainant reported that during the overnight hours, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway and stole approximately $2 in change. Neighbors reportedly observed a male subject dressed in dark clothing, and a dark hat walking around the area at the time of the theft.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, January 30, 2015, at 2:09 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe observed a speeding vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Sixth Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 20-year-old Joaquim Narcisco of 3 Hilltop Court in Lanoka Harbor for DUI. He was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on traffic summonses with Underage DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding, and Failure to Exhibit an Insurance Card. The vehicle Joaquim Narcisco was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Burglary and Theft (Business) – On Thursday, January 29, 2015, at 3:33 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 500 block of Route 9 South in Forked River for a theft in progress. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 54-year-old Theodore Diebold of Route 9 South in Forked River for unlawfully entering a building and attempting to steal a commercial sized snow blower valued at $13,000. Theodore Diebold was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal warrant with Burglary and Theft. Bail was set in the amount of $25,000. Theodore Diebold was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Theft – On Thursday, January 29, 2015, at 2:22 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick and Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the Wells Fargo bank in reference to a theft. The service manager reported that a male subject entered the bank requesting to exchange smaller and larger denominations of U.S. currency. The service manager reported that several of the exchanges occurred before the subject indicated that he was shorted money by the teller. The subject then counted the money and returned approximately $400 less to the teller which was discovered after the suspect left the building. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 50-years-old, 5’10” tall, bald, and nicely dressed. The service manager reported that the Wells Fargo Bank in Toms River had a similar incident.

  • Theft from a Business – On Thursday, January 29, 2015, at 10:35 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 7-Eleven store located at 926 Lacey Road in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that $3,540 in lottery tickets and $2,712 in cash had been stolen from the store. The theft is reported to have occurred between December 25, 2014 and January 7, 2015. The name of a suspect has been provided, and the incident is currently under investigation.

  • Shoplifting & Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at 4:12 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Kymberly Gudgeon responded to Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for an adult male shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old Daniel Ferreira of Main Street, Building 3-25 in Toms River for shoplifting merchandise valued at $46.88. In addition, Daniel Ferreira was found to be in possession of Marijuana. He was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with Shoplifting and Possession of Marijuana.

  • Unlawful Entry (Burglary) & Assault (Arrest) – On Monday, January 26, 2015, at 9:55 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to 1225 Gemini Court Apt. – B in Forked River for a report of the unlawful entry of a home and an assault. The resident reported that 19-year-old Edward G. Martin of Buckhorn Lake Court in Little Egg Harbor entered her home without permission and then assaulted 18-year-old Zachery Hartsgrove, who was inside the residence. The victim suffered injury to his hands and abdomen as a result of the assault. The assailant left the scene prior to the police department being notified. A warrant for the arrest of Edward G. Martin has been issued for the 2nd Degree charge of Burglary due to the unlawful entry into the home. Bail is set at $75,000 for the Burglary charge. Edward G. Martin was arrested on the warrant by the Little Egg Harbor Police Department on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

  • Theft – On Monday, January 26, 2015, at 9:37 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to Caruso and Martin Asphalt, 719 Old Shore Road in Forked River, for a report of a theft. An employee reported that an unknown person or persons stole a hydraulic snow plow pump off of one of the work trucks while it was parked at the business. The theft occurred between 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2015 and 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2015. The pump is described as a Meyers E-60 plow valued at $1,800.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 11:55 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey and Officer Patrick Watkins responded to 337 Yorktown Drive in Forked River for a report of a hit and run motor vehicle collision. The caller reported that a vehicle drove over his lawn, struck the front steps of the residence, and then fled the scene. Officer John McKee located the vehicle parked in front of 904 Capstan Drive in the Forked River section of the township. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old Alexander Ferenc of Capstan Drive in Forked River for DUI. The vehicle was towed by Midnight Towing pursuant to John’s Law. Alexander Ferenc was charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an Accident.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Friday, January 23, 2015, at 8:14 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle that failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign. Further investigation led to the arrest of the driver, 27-year-old Jessica M. Hunter of Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor on an outstanding Jersey City Municipal Court traffic warrant in the amount of $100. She was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and then released after posting the full bail. Jessica Hunter was issued a traffic summons for Failure to Stop for a Stop Sign.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Friday, January 23, 2015, at 2:48 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a an adult male shoplifter in custody. An Asset Protection Associate reported that he observed a male subject place merchandise into his pockets and then attempted to leave the store without paying for the concealed items. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Jeffrey T. Portizo of Dockage Road in Bayville for Shoplifting. Jeffrey Portizo initially provided a false name and date of birth to Officer Hein. Jeffrey Portizo was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and served with a criminal summons for Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer as well as being charged with Shoplifting.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Friday, January 23, 2015, at 11:09 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick and Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the 900 Block of Kearny Avenue in Forked River for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. Edward Hans and Lori Hans reported that between 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 and 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 an unknown person or persons entered a and stole a TomTom GPS, loose change, 4 Oxycodone prescription pills, and 70 Percocet prescription pills. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $315.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 1:34 p.m. Officer Keith Pearce responded to the Home Depot parking lot located at 244 Route 9 North in Forked River for a report of damage to a vehicle. The vehicle owner reported that he had parked his Ford Van in the Home Depot parking lot on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, because it was overheating. When he returned to the vehicle on Thursday, January 22, 2015 he discovered that an unknown person or persons had smashed out the rear window with a landscape rock. The damage is estimated at $200.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 1:02 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of an adult male shoplifter in custody. An Asset Protection Associate reported that he had observed a male subject take several plastic Walmart bags out of his pants and place $366 worth of merchandise in the bags and then attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Michael Sokalski of Attison Avenue in South Toms River for Shoplifting. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and served with a criminal summons for Shoplifting.

  • Assault on a Police Officer (Arrest) – On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at 6:21 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to 1411 Earie Way to assist another agency with a well-being check of 47-year-old Kimberly Kocses of 1411 Earie Way in Forked River. During the investigation, Kimberly Kocses became aggressive and pushed Officer McKee. Officer McKee then placed Kimberly Kocses under arrest. Kimberly Kocses was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with for the assault on a police officer (Aggravated Assault).

  • Warrant and Hindering Apprehension (Arrests) – On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, Officer Anthony Sarno and Officer Scott Keefe responded to Room #5 of the Lacey Inn, located at 229 Route 9 South in Forked River, in an attempt to locate and serve warrants on 32-year-old Jessica Walters of 229 Route 9 South in Forked River, NJ. Jessica Walters was located at the residence and was placed under arrest on an Ocean County Sheriffs Department no-bail warrant, a $500 Lacey Township Municipal Court criminal warrant, and a $500 Lacey Township Municipal Court traffic warrant. Jessica Walters was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail. Another occupant of Room #5, 28-year-old Jesse Zullo of Elwood Street in Forked River was charged with hindering the apprehension of another for attempting to conceal Jessica Walters’ actual location from the officers.

  • Warrant (Arrest) – On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at 11:09 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Pinta Way and Yorktown Drive upon learning that 30-year-old Brian Cleary of Anchor Road in Barnegat had a suspended driver’s license and an outstanding Wall Township Municipal Court traffic warrant in the amount of $500. Further investigation determined that the vehicle was not insured. Accurate towing responded to the scene and impounded the vehicle for no insurance. Brian Cleary was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then turned over to the custody of the Wall Township Police Department. Brian Cleary was issued traffic summonses for Driving While Suspended and Uninsured Motorist.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at 3:23 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Walmart located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of an adult male shoplifter in custody in reference to shoplifting. An Asset Protection Associate reported that he had observed a male subject take $58.45 worth of merchandise out of its packaging and place the merchandise into his pockets. The Asset Protection Associate reported that the subject paid for several items, but not the items that he concealed in his pockets. The subject was then stopped by the Asset Protection Associate as he left the store. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a 20-year-old xxxx of Barnegat, NJ for shoplifting. He was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with Shoplifting.

  • False Reports  (Arrest) – Shortly after midnight, Monday, January 19, 2015, Lacey Police responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident on Lacey Road. The accident was reported by a passing motorist traveling west of the Garden State Parkway when they observed the vehicle off the road and into the adjacent woods. Upon arrival at the accident, officers discovered that the vehicle, a 1998, Mercury Marquis, was unoccupied. An extensive search of the wooded area for the registered owner, 45-year-old Dawn Cornelius, proved unsuccessful nor could she be located at her Bamber Lakes residence. The following morning, Dawn Cornelius contacted Lacey Police and reported her vehicle stolen. Cornelius initially indicated that she spent the night at a friend’s home in Toms River and discovered her vehicle missing when she returned to her residence in Lacey. Further investigation by detectives led to the arrest of Dawn Cornelius.  Cornelius was charged with Filing a False Police Report, Failure to Maintain a Lane of Travel, Careless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Report an Accident. Dawn Cornelius was released on her own recognizance pending a future Court appearance. Filing a False Report is punishable by fine and a prison sentence up to 18 months.
