  • DUI with Accident (Arrest) – On Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 9:20 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas and Officer Charles May responded to the 800 block of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River for a report of a vehicle that struck and damaged a utility pole. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 48-year-old Joseph Y. Devlin of Forepeak Drive in Forked River, for DUI. Joseph Devlin was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and issued traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The road had to be closed for several hours while the utility pole was replaced and the wires were removed from the roadway. Power to the area was also out for several hours. No injuries were reported. The vehicle Joseph Devin was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Burglary of a Vehicle, Theft, and Drug Possession Arrest (Arrest) – On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 7:03 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the 900 block of Center Street in Forked River for a report of theft. The complainant reported that he suspected his sister, identified as 26-year-old Rema Murrar, stole money from him. The complainant also provided Officer Verwey with additional items that he believed his sister stole, which included a wallet belonging to a resident on the 800 block of Devon Street in Forked River, and two GPS units. During the continuing investigation, officers located a wax fold containing Heroin, several empty wax folds, several hypodermic syringes, various items of drug paraphernalia, as well as a device utilized to defraud the administration of a drug test which were all attributed to Rema Murrar. Rema Murrar was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged with one count of Burglary and Theft (from a motor vehicle), Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of a Device utilized to Defraud a Drug Test, and two counts of Possession of Stolen Property.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 12:27 a.m., Officer Michael Verwey was on patrol when he observed a suspicious vehicle containing two occupants backed into the driveway of a residence located on the 900 block of Elwood Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the two occupants, identified as 18-year-old Caitlin Hulse of Jaehnel Parkway in Point Pleasant, NJ, and 18-year-old Kyle Offenburger of Elwood Street in Forked River for Possession of CDS. They were transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on criminal summonses with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, Caitlin Hulse received a traffic summons for CDS in a Motor vehicle.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 9:39 p.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to Hemlock Drive in Lanoka Harbor for a suspicious vehicle parked at a vacant residence. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 46-year-old Douglas Laperry of Cedar Drive in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. Douglas Laperry was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and issued traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Driving While Suspended. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 7:43 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Stony Point Drive near Lake Barnegat Drive North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 33-year-old Randall S. Nielsen of Station Drive in Forked River for Possession of Heroin. Sixteen wax folds containing Heroin, along with several empty wax folds and several Hypodermic Syringes, were located within the vehicle. Randall Nielsen was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Operating an Unregistered Vehicle and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 5:40 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the Wawa, located at 444 Route 9 South in Forked River, for a report of a male subject inside a vehicle utilizing CDS. A description of the vehicle was provided. Investigation at the scene led to the discovery of 2 empty wax folds of Heroin and one full wax fold of Heroin in the vehicle. In addition, a hypodermic syringe was discovered. The driver, 27-year-old Dennis E. Cusack of Jane Drive in Manahawkin, NJ, was arrested for Possession of CDS. Dennis Cusack was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. In addition, he received a traffic summons for CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

  • DUI with Traffic Accident (Arrest) – On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 11:16 a.m., Officers Daniel Ricciardella and Evan Androcy responded to Lacey Road and Newark Avenue in Forked River for a traffic accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of one of the drivers, identified as 35-year-old Leah Lamendola of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. She was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on traffic summonses with DUI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and Failure to Exhibit Valid Insurance Card. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. The driver and passenger in the second vehicle were transported to Southern Ocean County Hospital for minor injuries.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Monday, October 12, 2015, at 2:21 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella and Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a female shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 39-year-old Marilyn Caro of West Maryland Avenue in Somers Point, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $32.18. Further investigation led to her being charged with shoplifting merchandise valued at $49.92 from Walmart on October 9, 2015, as well. Marilyn was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with two counts of Shoplifting.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Friday, October 9, 2015, at 6:55 p.m., Officer Robert Duffy responded to the 1800 block of Ridge Road in Forked River for a report of theft from a vehicle. The complainant reported that between 11:30 p.m. on October 8, 2015 and 7:00 a.m. on October 9, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle and stole $25 in cash from the glove-box. The vehicle was parked in the street in front of the residence at the time of the incident.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Friday, October 9, 2015, at 10:43 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 200 block of Lane Place in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015 and 10:40 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015, an unknown person or persons broke two exterior lights of his neighbor’s residence. Investigation indicated that rocks were thrown at the lights causing them to break. The damage is estimated at $50.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 5:10 p.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon and Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 40-year-old Laurie A. Carmer of Tuscarora Avenue in Barnegat, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $300. Laurie Carmer was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with Shoplifting.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 3:42 p.m., Officer Jason Lee was conducting an ongoing investigation on the 1300 block of Lee Way in Forked River. During his investigation he learned that 26-year-old Thomas W. Staunton had an outstanding Eagleswood Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $379. Thomas Stuanton was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters. Thomas Staunton was processed and then released on his own recognizance by the Eagleswood Township Municipal Court Clerk pending a new court date.

  • Burglary and Theft – On Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 3:42 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 1300 block of Lee Way in Forked River for a report of theft. The complainant reported that between Thursday, October 1, 2015 and Tuesday, October 6, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered his residence and stole $1,400 in jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry and the incident is under investigation.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 10:18 p.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and John McKee responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Emily Lewinski of Tudor Avenue in Pine Beach, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $168. Emily Lewinski was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged on a criminal summons with Shoplifting.

  • Theft – On Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 8:20 a.m., Officer Keith Pearce responded to the 300 block of Constitution Drive in Forked River for a report of theft. The complainant reported that between Saturday, October 3, 3015, and Monday, October 5, 2015, two gold necklaces valued at a total of $600 were stolen from his residence. No signs of forced entry could be located.

  • DUI and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Friday, October 2, 2015, at 8:11 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel in the area of Route 9 and Beach Boulevard. Officer Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on the 400 block of Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 58-year-old Peter Docherty of Starboard Street in Forked River for DUI. In addition, he was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Peter Docherty was transported to police headquarters, processes, and charged with Possession of CDS (Oxycodone). Peter Docherty was charged on traffic summonses with DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Unlicensed Driver. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • DUI with Accident (Arrest) – On Friday, October 2, 2015, at 8:29 p.m., Officer Charles May and Officer Adam Ewart responded to the area of Route 9 near Musket Road in the Lanoka Harbor section of the township for a report of a vehicle “all over the road.” While responding to the area, Officer Charles May observed the vehicle sideswipe a utility pole in front of 412 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Officer May conducted a traffic stop on Musket Road. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 24-year-old Thomas S. Grady, of Ship Bottom, NJ, for DUI. Thomas Grady was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Theft – On Monday, October 5, 2015, at 7:33 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to police headquarters for a report of theft. The complainant, a Lacey Township High School student, reported that between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on October 5, 2015, an unknown person or persons stole her black Chrome Book laptop valued at $200 from the girls’ locker room of the Lacey Township High School, located at 73 Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor. The laptop had been provided to the student by the school.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Monday, October 5, 2015, at 4:30 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 700 block of Princeton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for report of damage to a vehicle. The victim reported that during the overnight hours of Sunday, October 4, 2015 into Monday, October 5, 2015, an unknown person or persons broke the driver’s side mirror of her vehicle while parked at the residence. The cost to repair the mirror is estimated at $50.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Sunday, October 4, 2015, at 8:31 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the 400 block of Cabot Street in Forked River for a report of theft. The complainant reported that between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. The vehicle was parked in the roadway in front of the residence and was unlocked at the time of the incident. At the time of the report, the vehicle owner could not determine if anything was missing from inside the vehicle.

  • Theft – On Sunday, October 4, 2015, at 8:28 a.m., Sergeant Vincent Meehan and Officer Brian Holt responded to the 1500 block of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River for a report of theft. The complainant reported that between Sunday, September 27, 2015 and Friday, October 4, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered the crawl space of the residence, removed, and stole copper piping valued at approximately $1,000.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 10:55 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 1500 block of Daytona Road in Forked River for a report of damage to a vehicle. The complainant reported that between 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015, an unknown person or persons smashed the rear window of a vehicle while it was parked in the street in front of the residence. The cost to replace the window is estimated at $500. This was the second such incident that occurred at this residence. The prior incident occurred during the overnight hours of Thursday, October 1, 2015 into Friday, October 2, 2015, when a different window on the vehicle was smashed and a tire on another vehicle was damaged causing it to lose air. The damage of that incident was estimated at $500.

  • Criminal Mischief (Business) – On Thursday, October 1, 2015, at 2:55 p.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to Nikko Asian Bistro, located at 208 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 and 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, an unknown person or persons cut the wires on two light posts in the rear parking lot. The damage is estimated at $2,000.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Friday, October 2, 2015, at 12:44 p.m., Officers Frederick Anderson and Jeffrey Slota responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Robin Ridgeway of River Avenue in Lakewood, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $52. Robin Ridgeway was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and charged with Shoplifting.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Thursday, October 1, 2015, at 11:35 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota was on patrol in the area of West Lacey Road and Dover Road when he observed criminal mischief on the roadway. An unknown person or persons spray-painted graffiti on the asphalt roadway. The Ocean County Road Department was notified to remove the graffiti off of the county road surface. The cost to remove the graffiti was estimated at $100.

  • Shoplifting – On Thursday, October 1, 2015, at 11:12 a.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of shoplifting. The store employees reported that a male suspect stole an iRobot Roomba valued at $579.99 and fled the store prior to this agency being contacted. The suspect was described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, bald, and last seen wearing a navy blue sweatshirt. He left in a red and orange Honda Element. The incident is under investigation.

  • Shoplifting – On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 6:30 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to Kohl’s, 304 Route 9 N, for a report of a fleeing shoplifter. Kohl’s lost prevention reported that an unknown male concealed a Remington electric razor in his pants and attempted to leave the store without paying for the item. When store security confronted the subject, he turned over the item and then fled the store on foot. The electric razor is valued at $75.

  • Theft – On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 10:40 a.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to police headquarters for a report of theft. The complainant reported that between 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 and 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, an unknown person or persons stole a dirt bike from the driveway of his residence located on the 300 block of Harzold Road in Forked River. The vehicle is described as a red, white, and black 2011, Husqvarna TE310, motorized dirt bike valued at $4,000.

  • Obstructing the Administration of Law and Resisting (Arrest) – On Monday, September 28, 2015, at 9:29 p.m., Officer John McKee conducted a traffic stop in a driveway located on the 400 block of Lake Barnegat Drive North in Lanoka Harbor. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Louis Dautorio 4th of Center Street in Forked River, immediately exited the vehicle in an attempt to confront Officer McKee.  After refusing to get back into his vehicle and refusing to provide his driving credentials, Officer McKee advised him he was under arrest for obstructing the administration of law. During the arrest process, Louis Dautorio, 4th physically resisted being handcuffed by Officer McKee.  As Officer McKee was forced to struggle with the non-compliant suspect, 19-year-old Marcus Gervasini of Leanne Court in Forked River exacerbated the situation by getting extremely close to Officer McKee and holding a cell phone camera in the officer’s face while the officer was actively attempting to arrest and handcuff the physically resisting suspect.  Marcus Gervasini was advised to back up or he would be placed under arrest for the obstruction of the administration of law; however, he refused to do so. Additional officers arrived and Louis Dautorio, 4th was successfully handcuffed and transported to police headquarters. Louis Dautorio, 4th was charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law and Resisting Arrest by Force.  Marcus Gervasini later responded to police headquarters and was served a special form of complaint summons charging him with Obstruction the Administration of Law due to his actions at the scene.

  • Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Monday, September 28, 2015, at 4:07 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella was traveling on Lacey Road near the Garden State Parkway in Forked River when he observed a vehicle pulled off to the side of the road with two of the occupants engaged in a verbal dispute.  Officer Ricciardella stopped to assist. During the on-scene investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was stolen. The vehicle, a 1999 Ford F150, was reported stolen on September 27, 2015, from Lumberton, NJ.  In addition, Marijuana was discovered in the possession of one of the occupants. The stolen vehicle included the following occupants: 21-year-old Courtney Cummings of Alpine Street in Forked River, NJ; 21-year-old James Evans of Elizabeth Ave in Whiting, NJ; 20-year-old Joseph Azzara of Andrea Drive in Columbus, NJ; and 21-year-old Rafael Clevenger of Surgrave Manor in Lumberton, NJ. All four occupants were placed under arrest for possession of the stolen vehicle and were transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where they were processed and charged. Courtney Cummings was charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. James Evans, Joseph Azzara, and Rafael Clevenger were each charged with Receiving Stolen Property. The vehicle was returned to the owner.

  • Drug Possession and Warrant (Arrest) – On Friday, September 25, 2015, at 8:52 p.m., Officer Charles May was on patrol on Parker Avenue near Lacey Road in Forked River, when Officer May observed 40-year-old Thomas M. Britton of Caldwell Avenue in Forked River who had an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Office warrant in the amount of $43,323.00. In addition, Thomas Britton was found to be in possession of several wax-folds of Heroin and a hypodermic syringe. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle. Thomas Britton was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

  • Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Sunday, September 27, 2015, at 11:09 p.m., Sergeant Paul Sullivan, along with Officers Michael Verwey, John D. Simonson, and Sgt. Sullivan responded to the 1900 block of Pineview Road in Forked River for a dispute in the driveway.  Upon arrival, officers found that there was a verbal dispute over unwelcomed guests coming to the residence. The four unwanted guests were still in their motor vehicle parked in the driveway. While speaking to the motor vehicle occupants, drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view. Further investigation led to the arrest of 19-year-old Macey Saitta of Pineview Road in Forked River. She was transported to police headquarters, processed, and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

  • Theft from a Vehicle – On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at 2:33 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to Heritage Apartments, located at 1031 Newark Avenue North in Forked River, for a report of theft. The victim reported that between 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015 and 8:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle, which was parked in the parking lot of Heritage Apartments, and stole her handicapped placard. The handicap placard is valued at $1.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at 1:36 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe and Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the Lacey Inn, located at 229 Route 9 North in Forked River, to serve an arrest warrant. Officers located the accused, 56-year-old Robert K. Fletcher of Lacey Road in Forked River, at that address and placed him under arrest on the outstanding warrant. The warrant was issued by the Lakehurst Borough Municipal Court in the amount of $750. Robert Fletcher was transported to police headquarters, processed, and the Lakehurst Municipal Court Clerk released on him on his own recognizance.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, September 27, 2015, at 8:38 p.m., Officer John McKee conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 South near Parkers Point Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 43-year-old Tammy Callan of Beach Boulevard in Forked River for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters, processed, and issued summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Signal, Improper Right Turn on Red, and improper U-Turn. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 4:04 a.m., Officer Adam Ewart responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 51-year-old Christopher R. Franzone from the Boulevard in Seaside Heights, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $7.28. He was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 12:24 a.m., Officers Dimitri Tsarnas and Robert Duffy responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old Justin M. Calise of 3 Hilltop Court in Lanoka Harbor for shoplifting merchandise valued at $46.76. Justin Calise was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting.

  • Underage Consumption of Alcohol – On Friday, September 25, 2015, at 6:21 p.m., Officers Jayson Lee and Dimitri Tsarnas responded to a residence located on Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor for a report of juveniles consuming alcoholic beverages. The investigation determined that there were no juveniles consuming alcohol at the reported location. However, the investigation determined that four juveniles had consumed alcoholic beverages earlier at a residence located on Yorktown Drive in Forked River. As a result of the investigation, the four juveniles, including a 14-year-old male from Lanoka Harbor, a 13-year-old male from Lanoka Harbor, a 13-year-old male from Forked River, and a 13-year-old female from Forked River, were each charged on a juvenile complaint with Underage Consumption of Alcohol in a Private Residence. All of the parents of the juveniles were made aware of the information available to the police officers regarding the underage possession and consumption of alcohol.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 4:23 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and Jeffrey Slota responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a female shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 43-year-old Maryann Vandevelde of Poplar Street in Waretown, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $80. Maryann Vandevelde was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Shoplifting.

  • Shoplifting, Trespassing, and Warrant (Arrest) – On Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 12:28 p.m., Officer Jayson Lee responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a female shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 37-year-old Christina M. Manion of Silver Court in Bayville, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $84.65. In addition, she was given prior notice against trespass by the store management that she was not allowed to be on Walmart property. Furthermore, it was discovered that Christina Manion had several warrants for her arrest, including an Elizabeth Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $116 and a Neptune Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $300. Christina Manion was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Shoplifting and Trespassing. Bail was set in the amount of $1,000. Christina Manion was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

  • Traffic Accident with DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, September 20, 2015, at 8:33 p.m., Officer John D. Simonson responded to the intersection of Lacey Road and Route 9 for a two vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that vehicle number one was stopped in traffic southbound on Route 9 when the rear of the vehicle was struck by vehicle number two. A further investigation at the scene led to the arrest of driver number two, identified as 43-year-old Sean Gurski of Radcliffe Road in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Sean Gurski was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. There were no injuries reported.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, September 20, 2015, at 6:58 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins conducted a traffic stop on Oak Lane near Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 52-year-old Nancy Sabias of Prospect Avenue in Fairview, NJ, on an outstanding Fort Lee Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $139. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Nancy Sabias was released after posting bail.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, September 20, 2015, at 3:31 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy conducted a traffic stop on Lake Barnegat Drive North and Wynnewood Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led the arrest of the passenger, identified as 39-year-old Kimberly S. Duff of Ashburner Street in Philadelphia, PA, on an outstanding Mount Laurel, New Jersey, Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kimberly Duff was released ROR by Mount Laurel Municipal Court.

  • Traffic Accident with Serious Injury – On September 20, 2015, at approximately 10:22 a.m., the Lacey Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on West Lacey Road in Lacey Township. The crash occurred in the vicinity of Aspen Road and involved a single vehicle and a bicyclist. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the bicyclist was traveling westbound on the shoulder portion of the roadway when he attempted to turn around in the westbound lane of travel to pick up an item that he dropped while cycling. As the cyclist entered the westbound lane of travel, he was struck by a 2015 Hyundai operated a 58-year-old resident of Forked River who was also traveling westbound in the westbound lane at the time. The cyclist, a 44-year-old male from Toms River, was ejected from the bicycle and suffered serious injuries. He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, via medical helicopter. He is in critical condition. Sergeant Robert Flynn, Patrolman Evan Androcy, and Patrolman Adam Ewart of The Lacey Township Police Fatal Accident Support Team responded to conduct the investigation. MONOC Paramedics, Lacey Township First Aid Squad, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Support Team, all responded to the scene to assist. Lacey Road was closed between Aspen Road and Spaulding Ave. for approximately 2 hours as a result of the crash.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Sunday, September 20, 2015, at 11:58 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 68-year-old Frank DeSanto of Walnut Road in Manahawkin, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $16.68. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Frank DeSanto was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.

  • DUI, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing the Administration of Law, and Underage Consumption – On Sunday, September 20, 2015, at 4:06 a.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop at 611 Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River. The driver immediately fled the vehicle and ran in to a wooded area behind the residence. Officers Sarno and Keefe gave chase. A short time later, the driver, identified as a 17-year-old male from Forked River, was taken into custody in the woods. Investigation at the scene led to the 17-year-old male’s arrest for DUI, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing the Administration of Law, and Underage Consumption of Alcohol. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was later released to the custody of a parent after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and Failure to Produce a Driver’s License. Additionally, the 17-year-old male was charged on juvenile complaints with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing the Administration of Law, and Underage Consumption of Alcohol. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Underage Consumption of Alcohol and Noise Complaint (Formal Charges) – On Saturday, September 20, 2015, at 2:19 a.m., Sergeant Paul Sullivan, Jr, along with Officers John D. Simonson, and Scott Keefe responded to the 600 block of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River for a report of a loud party. Investigation at the scene led a Special Form of Complaint and Summons being issued against 18-year-old Nicholas Bland of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River for both creating a noise disturbance and for allowing underage persons to consume alcohol in the residence. In addition, 19-year-old Michelle McLeod of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River, and 20-year-old Thomas Nagy of Briar Road, Lanoka Harbor, were each issued a Special Form of Complaint and Summons for Underage Consumption of Alcohol in a private residence. Sergeant Sullivan located a 17-year-old male juvenile from Forked River a few houses down from the party. The male juvenile was highly intoxicated and later turned over to the custody of his mother. The juvenile was charged on a juvenile complaint with Underage Consumption of Alcohol.

  • Multiple Criminal Mischief Incidents – Between September 14, 2015 and September 20, 2015, the Lacey Township Police Departments has taken several reports of broken mailboxes and mail posts, throughout the Township. The incidents appear random and are not specific to any particular area within the township. Most incidents occurred during the overnight hours and the average cost to repair the mailbox was estimated at $50.

  • Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief (Arrests) – On Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 12:50 a.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River for a report of two females who had just smashed out windows on a parked car and fled the scene in a vehicle. Subsequently, Officer Scott Keefe had just conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 near Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River for speeding. Investigation at the scene determined that the vehicle Officer Keefe had stopped contained the two female suspects accused of smashing out the windows on Nautilus Boulevard. Officer Michael Verwey responded to Officer Keefe’s traffic stop while Officer Anthony Sarno responded to the incident location on Nautilus Boulevard. An investigation at the incident location, along with the scene of the traffic stop, led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 21-year-old Michele R. Marold of Bowline Street in Barnegat, NJ, and her passenger, identified as 21-year-old Amber Ricco of Buerman Avenue in Toms River. Michele Marold was arrested for Burglary and Theft of a residence on Nautilus Boulevard after entering through an unlocked door and stealing a cell phone battery valued at $65. In addition, she was charged with criminal mischief for her involvement in smashing out the vehicle windows. Amber Ricco was charged with Burglary of the motor vehicle, criminal mischief for her involvement with smashing out the windows, and theft of property from the motor vehicle valued at $25. Furthermore, Michele Marold was issued traffic summonses for Speeding and Uninsured Motor Vehicle. The vehicle was impounded at the scene. Both females had bail set in the amount of $10,000 each. They were both lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 12:35 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 near Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 25-year-old Patrick Flanagan, Jr., of Parkside Drive in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Patrick Flanagan was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Provide Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Observe Traffic Control Signal. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 18, 2015, at 9:49 p.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Trenton Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 28-year-old Thaddeus J. Adamczyk 3rd of Falkenburg Avenue in Forked River, on two outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued in the amount of $500 and warrant number two (2) was issued in the amount of $250. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Thaddeus J. Adamczyk was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail. In addition, he received a traffic summons for driving with a suspended license.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, September 18, 2015, at 8:17 p.m., the Lacey Township Police Department received a complaint of an aggressive driver traveling eastbound on Lacey Road. A location and description of the vehicle were provided. Special Officer Edger Lenkauskus observed the vehicle traveling eastbound on Lacey Road near mile marker 10. Special Officer Lenkauskus conducted a traffic stop. Officer John McKee responded to assist. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 19-year-old William T. Vogel, of National Pike in Uniontown, PA, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and issued traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 18, 2015, at 8:02 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 23-year-old Alyssa Everett of Arient Road in Forked River, on an outstanding Trenton Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1,250. Alyssa Everett was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.

  • Shoplifting and Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Friday, September 18, 2015, at 5:04 p.m., Officers Daniel Ricciardella and John D. Simonson responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a female shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 32-year-old Kerri N. Walsh of North Oak Road in Lanoka Harbor for shoplifting merchandise valued at $481. In addition, she was found to be in possession of the Suboxone without a prescription. Kerri Walsh was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting and Possession of CDS.

  • Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief – On Thursday, September 17, 2015, at 12:40 p.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to the 200 block of Juniper Lane in Forked River for a report of a burglary. The complainant reported that between August 31, 2015 and September 9, 2015, an unknown person or persons entered the residence and stole property, including but not limited to fishing poles and a stereo valued at $1,000. In addition, a lock on an outside shed was broken; however, nothing appeared to be missing from within the shed. The damaged lock is valued at $10. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence and the incident is under investigation.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at 12:53 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota conducted a traffic stop on Lakeside Drive near Falkenburg Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 45-year-old Joseph Ulrich, Jr. of Oakwood Drive in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and issued summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Suspended Driver’s License.

  • Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief – On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at 1:15 a.m., Officer Adam Ewart responded to the 2100 block of Hollywood Drive in Forked River for a burglary report. The complainant reported that within the previous 10 days, an unknown person or persons forced entry into the residence by breaking a basement window. Once inside the basement a cordless drill valued at $50 that was on top of the hot water heater was missing. The damage to the basement window is valued at $200. In addition, a garage window, valued at approximately $300 was also found to be damaged and in need of replacement.

  • Theft – On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at 9:46 p.m., Officer George Resetar responded to the 700 block of Hill Street in Lanoka Harbor for a theft report. The victim reported that between the beginning of July 2015, and September 13, 2015, several pieces of jewelry with a total value of $8,050 were stolen from within the residence. The theft did not involve forced entry. A name of a suspect who was previously in the residence was provided and the incident is under investigation.

  • Theft – On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at 8:46 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the 200 block of Lakeside Drive in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between September 12, 2015 and September 13, 2015, a Cannon Powershot SX160 digital camera valued at $250 was stolen from her residence.

  • Theft – On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at 4:23 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 300 block of Dewey Drive in Forked River for a theft report. The victim reported that between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on September 13, 2015, $300 in cash was stolen from her residence. The name of a suspect was provided. The incident is under investigation.

  • Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at 12:51 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to Sheffield Drive in Forked River for a criminal mischief report. The complainant reported that within the prior two weeks, while the home was vacant, an unknown person or persons threw an unknown object at the rear sliding glass door breaking the exterior glass. The interior glass was not shattered and entry appears not to have been made. The damage to the glass sliding door is estimated at $500 to repair.

  • Aggravated Assault (Arrest) – On Monday, September 14, 2015, at 4:01 p.m., Officer Elton Copes, Officer Michael Hein, and Officer Noah Schaffer responded to Wawa, located at 444 Route 9 South in Forked River, in reference to two males fighting in the parking lot. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 27-year-old Eric D. Jablonski of 34 Geneva Road in Lakehurst, NJ for Aggravated Assault. Witnesses reported that Eric Jablonski struck 47-year-old Kevin Tice of Beachwood, NJ, in the face causing him to fall to the ground. The witnesses reported that Eric Jablonski then kicked the victim in the face, as the victim was on the ground and unable to defend himself. The injuries to the victim were consistent with the information provided by the witnesses. The victim was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment. Eric Jablonski was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters. Eric Jablonski was processed and charged on a criminal warrant with 2nd Degree Aggravated Assault and 3rd Degree Endangering an Injured Victim. Bail was set by Superior Court Judge Patricia Roe at $50,000. Eric Jablonski was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

  • Robbery (Arrest) – On September 9, 2015, Lacey detectives arrested 37-year-old Jason Timmerman of 304 Nautilus Boulevard and charged him with a robbery which occurred 11 weeks prior. On June 26, 2015, Lacey Township police officers responded to the Walmart in Lanoka Harbor for a reported physical altercation. A loss prevention officer for the store reported that he observed a male subject remove an item from the shelf and place it in his pocket while shopping. At the checkout, the male suspect paid for several items but continued to conceal one item in his pocket. As the suspect exited the store, the loss prevention officer attempted to stop the suspect. The suspect immediately turned aggressive and an altercation ensued which resulted in the suspect striking the loss prevention officer (Link to Neighborhood Crime Alert – June 26, 2015). The suspect ran from the parking lot into a nearby wooded area. Surveillance video from the store revealed that the suspect’s purchase was made using a debit card. Detectives acquired cardholder information through the issuance of a Grand Jury Subpoena and matched the name to the suspect depicted in the video. On September 9, 2015, Jason Timmerman was arrested and charged with one count of Robbery with bail set at $10,000.  The bail was posted at police headquarters.

  • Shoplifting & Outstanding Florida Warrant with Extradition (Arrest) – On September 15, 2015, Officer Duffy along with Officer May responded to the Walmart in Lanoka Harbor with a report of a female shoplifter. Upon arrival, they met with Loss Prevention and the female Jennifer Monticello. Jennifer Monticello was reported to have walked out of the Walmart store without paying for several items of clothing that were in her cart – valued at $97. She was stopped by loss prevention as she was exiting the store. Jennifer Monticello was arrested and transported to police headquarters where it was discovered that she had an Extradition Warrant with nationwide pickup status out of Florida for outstanding Methamphetamine Possession and Distribution Charges. Jennifer Monticello was processed, charged with shoplifting, and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility where processing will continue for extradition to Florida.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest Warrant Issued) – Officer Andrew Slota responded to the Walmart in Lanoka Harbor and met with Loss Prevention shortly after midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. The investigation involved an incident that took place earlier on Monday, September 14, 2015. A white female, later identified as 33-year-old Shannon Labella of North Avenue in Seaside Park, NJ reportedly utilized her NJ driver’s license when she retrieved several items from the store shelf and walked the merchandise over to the service desk where she returned the items as a previous purchase and received a store credit of $234. Walmart security cameras confirmed the illegal transaction. During the course of the investigation, it was also learned that Shannon Labella had an outstanding warrant out of Ocean Township Municipal Court in Monmouth County for a similar shoplifting offense with bail set at $1,100 for the Ocean Township warrant. Officer Slota prepared an additional warrant for Shoplifting for Shannon Labella with bail set at $2,500. Shannon Labella was entered into NCIC as a wanted person pending arrest on the warrants.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, September 14, 2015, at 9:35 p.m., Officer Charles May conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle for improper maintenance of lamps on Route 9 near the Lacey Mall. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Daniel Rojas 3rd of Constitution Drive in Forked River, NJ, for DUI. Daniel Rojas was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle Daniel Rojas was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s law.

  • Huffing (Arrest) – On Monday, September 14, 2015, at 10:02 a.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the CVS store, located at 700 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for a report of a male subject who was reported huffing electronic cleaner in a vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 53-year-old Kenneth Farley of Tampa, FL, who had reportedly passed out, for the Inhalation of Toxic Chemical Fumes for Purpose of Causing Intoxication. Kenneth Farley was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged on a criminal summons.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 11:56 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe was on patrol when a random inquiry of a vehicle registration indicated that the registered owner of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant. Officer Keefe stopped the vehicle on Lacey Road near Holmes Avenue and confirmed that 20-year-old Adriana Scott of Forked River, NJ had an outstanding Beach Haven Borough Municipal Court traffic warrant in the bail amount of $106. Adriana Scott was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after posting bail.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 11:15 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins and Officer John McKee responded to Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male subject in the parking lot acting suspiciously. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Carl Jackson of Presidential Avenue in Toms River, NJ, on an outstanding South Toms River Borough Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $400. Carl Jackson was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.

  • Theft – On Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 5:46 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins took a report from a Cork Place resident regarding theft. The victim reported that between 8:30 p.m. on September 10, 2015 and 6:00 a.m. on September 11, 2015, some person or persons stole a table from her front porch. The table was described as a 2’x2’ metal framed table with a glass top. The table is valued at $40.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, September 11, 2015, at 10:33 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for a report of an intoxicated driver that had just left the parking lot. Officer Brian Holt located the vehicle a short while later and stopped the vehicle in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 43-year-old Michael Sabitini of Conifer Drive in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for DUI. Michael Sabitini was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle Michael Sabitini was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • House Fire – On Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 3:28 p.m., Officer Michael Eden responded to 2222 Glen Oak Drive in Forked River for a report of a house fire. Investigation at the scene indicated that the homeowner had left a candle burning when she went to the store and upon returning home she discovered that the kitchen and attic were on fire. The Forked River Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The Lacey Township Detective Bureau and the Ocean County Fire Marshall responded to the scene to investigate.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 8:18 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle that had an expired registration. The driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Alexander Modestino of Forked River, NJ, had an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court traffic warrant in the bail amount of $350. Alexander Modestino was placed under arrest and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, where he was processed and released after posting bail. Alexander Modestino was issued a summons for expired registration.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at 5:16 p.m. Officer Jason Lee stopped a vehicle Musket Drive near Georgetown Lane. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 28-year-old Brandon Myles of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, on an outstanding Brick Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $300. Brandon Myles also had another no bail criminal warrant from Florida. Brandon Myles was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
