  • Aggravated Assault (Arrest) – On Monday, September 14, 2015, at 4:01 p.m., Officer Elton Copes, Officer Michael Hein, and Officer Noah Schaffer responded to Wawa, located at 444 Route 9 South in Forked River, in reference to two males fighting in the parking lot. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 27-year-old Eric D. Jablonski of 34 Geneva Road in Lakehurst, NJ for Aggravated Assault. Witnesses reported that Eric Jablonski struck 47-year-old Kevin Tice of Beachwood, NJ, in the face causing him to fall to the ground. The witnesses reported that Eric Jablonski then kicked the victim in the face, as the victim was on the ground and unable to defend himself. The injuries to the victim were consistent with the information provided by the witnesses. The victim was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment. Eric Jablonski was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters. Eric Jablonski was processed and charged on a criminal warrant with 2nd Degree Aggravated Assault and 3rd Degree Endangering an Injured Victim. Bail was set by Superior Court Judge Patricia Roe at $50,000. Eric Jablonski was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

  • Robbery (Arrest) – On September 9, 2015, Lacey detectives arrested 37-year-old Jason Timmerman of 304 Nautilus Boulevard and charged him with a robbery which occurred 11 weeks prior. On June 26, 2015, Lacey Township police officers responded to the Walmart in Lanoka Harbor for a reported physical altercation. A loss prevention officer for the store reported that he observed a male subject remove an item from the shelf and place it in his pocket while shopping. At the checkout, the male suspect paid for several items but continued to conceal one item in his pocket. As the suspect exited the store, the loss prevention officer attempted to stop the suspect. The suspect immediately turned aggressive and an altercation ensued which resulted in the suspect striking the loss prevention officer (Link to Neighborhood Crime Alert – June 26, 2015). The suspect ran from the parking lot into a nearby wooded area. Surveillance video from the store revealed that the suspect’s purchase was made using a debit card. Detectives acquired cardholder information through the issuance of a Grand Jury Subpoena and matched the name to the suspect depicted in the video. On September 9, 2015, Jason Timmerman was arrested and charged with one count of Robbery with bail set at $10,000.  The bail was posted at police headquarters.

  • Shoplifting & Outstanding Florida Warrant with Extradition (Arrest) – On September 15, 2015, Officer Duffy along with Officer May responded to the Walmart in Lanoka Harbor with a report of a female shoplifter. Upon arrival, they met with Loss Prevention and the female Jennifer Monticello. Jennifer Monticello was reported to have walked out of the Walmart store without paying for several items of clothing that were in her cart – valued at $97. She was stopped by loss prevention as she was exiting the store. Jennifer Monticello was arrested and transported to police headquarters where it was discovered that she had an Extradition Warrant with nationwide pickup status out of Florida for outstanding Methamphetamine Possession and Distribution Charges. Jennifer Monticello was processed, charged with shoplifting, and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility where processing will continue for extradition to Florida.

  • Shoplifting (Arrest Warrant Issued) – Officer Andrew Slota responded to the Walmart in Lanoka Harbor and met with Loss Prevention shortly after midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. The investigation involved an incident that took place earlier on Monday, September 14, 2015. A white female, later identified as 33-year-old Shannon Labella of North Avenue in Seaside Park, NJ reportedly utilized her NJ driver’s license when she retrieved several items from the store shelf and walked the merchandise over to the service desk where she returned the items as a previous purchase and received a store credit of $234. Walmart security cameras confirmed the illegal transaction. During the course of the investigation, it was also learned that Shannon Labella had an outstanding warrant out of Ocean Township Municipal Court in Monmouth County for a similar shoplifting offense with bail set at $1,100 for the Ocean Township warrant. Officer Slota prepared an additional warrant for Shoplifting for Shannon Labella with bail set at $2,500. Shannon Labella was entered into NCIC as a wanted person pending arrest on the warrants.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, September 14, 2015, at 9:35 p.m., Officer Charles May conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle for improper maintenance of lamps on Route 9 near the Lacey Mall. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Daniel Rojas 3rd of Constitution Drive in Forked River, NJ, for DUI. Daniel Rojas was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle Daniel Rojas was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s law.

  • Huffing (Arrest) – On Monday, September 14, 2015, at 10:02 a.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the CVS store, located at 700 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for a report of a male subject who was reported huffing electronic cleaner in a vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 53-year-old Kenneth Farley of Tampa, FL, who had reportedly passed out, for the Inhalation of Toxic Chemical Fumes for Purpose of Causing Intoxication. Kenneth Farley was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged on a criminal summons.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 11:56 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe was on patrol when a random inquiry of a vehicle registration indicated that the registered owner of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant. Officer Keefe stopped the vehicle on Lacey Road near Holmes Avenue and confirmed that 20-year-old Adriana Scott of Forked River, NJ had an outstanding Beach Haven Borough Municipal Court traffic warrant in the bail amount of $106. Adriana Scott was arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after posting bail.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 11:15 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins and Officer John McKee responded to Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male subject in the parking lot acting suspiciously. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 20-year-old Carl Jackson of Presidential Avenue in Toms River, NJ, on an outstanding South Toms River Borough Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $400. Carl Jackson was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.

  • Theft – On Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 5:46 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins took a report from a Cork Place resident regarding theft. The victim reported that between 8:30 p.m. on September 10, 2015 and 6:00 a.m. on September 11, 2015, some person or persons stole a table from her front porch. The table was described as a 2’x2’ metal framed table with a glass top. The table is valued at $40.

  • DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, September 11, 2015, at 10:33 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for a report of an intoxicated driver that had just left the parking lot. Officer Brian Holt located the vehicle a short while later and stopped the vehicle in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 43-year-old Michael Sabitini of Conifer Drive in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for DUI. Michael Sabitini was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged on motor vehicle summonses with DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle Michael Sabitini was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • House Fire – On Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 3:28 p.m., Officer Michael Eden responded to 2222 Glen Oak Drive in Forked River for a report of a house fire. Investigation at the scene indicated that the homeowner had left a candle burning when she went to the store and upon returning home she discovered that the kitchen and attic were on fire. The Forked River Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The Lacey Township Detective Bureau and the Ocean County Fire Marshall responded to the scene to investigate.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 8:18 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle that had an expired registration. The driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Alexander Modestino of Forked River, NJ, had an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court traffic warrant in the bail amount of $350. Alexander Modestino was placed under arrest and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters, where he was processed and released after posting bail. Alexander Modestino was issued a summons for expired registration.

  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at 5:16 p.m. Officer Jason Lee stopped a vehicle Musket Drive near Georgetown Lane. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 28-year-old Brandon Myles of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, on an outstanding Brick Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $300. Brandon Myles also had another no bail criminal warrant from Florida. Brandon Myles was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
