Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 2nd, 2018 through November 8th, 2018

 

 

 

 

  • Assist other Agency – On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at 9:14 a.m., Officer John McKee responded to a resident on Uranus Court for a report of a possible sinking vessel. Upon arrival, he discovered a boat, which had sunk in the lagoon. The NJSP Marine Unit and the Ocean County Hazmat Team responded to the scene. The NJ DEP and Department of Health were advised.
  • Burglary from Vehicle- On Thursday, November 8, 2018, at 9:40 a.m., Officer John McKee responded to a residence on Arborridge Drive, Forked River, to take a burglary report. The victim reported that during the overnight hours between November 6, 2018 and November 7, 2018, an unknown person entered her vehicle and stole approximately $250.00 worth of property from within. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of her residence at the time of the theft.
  • Shoplifting– On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at 8:50 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to JRs Liquors, 1000 Lacey Road, for a report of a theft that occurred on November 5th. The Owner/Victim stated between 1721 hours and 1736 hours an unknown male subject stole an estimated $433 worth of liquor. The incident remains under investigation.
  • DUI Arrest – On Sunday, November 4, 2018, at 8:50 p.m., Officers Patrick Watkins and Jesse Dalziel responded to the wooded area near the trestle at Station Drive for a suspicious incident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year old Nicole Allen, Gary Smith Way in Forked River, NJ for DWI. Nicole was transported to police headquarters and processed. She received motor vehicle summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving.   Lacey Used Auto responded to the scene and took possession of the vehicle.
  • Theft-On Sunday, November 4, 2018, at 2:19 a.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to police headquarters to take a report of a residential burglary.  The homeowner reported that an unknown person(s) entered his residence, 800 block of Pensacola Road, Forked River, between the hours of 1300 and 1530, on Saturday, November 3, and took his white Xbox One S with an assortment of video games from his living room while homeowner was asleep in another room. The value of the stolen merchandise is estimated at $795. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Fraud – On Saturday , November 3, 2018, at 12:14 p.m., Officer Tsarnas Dimitrios responded to police headquarters for a fraud report.       The victim received a letter from AT&T regarding a credit card application. The letter was addressed to someone of no relation to her. Victim stated that she never applied for a credit card from AT&T and called them inquiring about the application. Victim was informed that someone using that name and address attempted to obtain a credit card and that the unknown person also provided a social security, which matched hers. Victim stated that the subject was denied the application and she was not out any money.

  • DWI Arrest – On Wednesday, October 31, 2018, Officers Michael Hein and Dan Ricciardella responded to the 800 block of Spar Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 74-year-old Patricia A. Borbely of Wave Drive, Forked River, for DUI. Patricia Borbely was transported to police headquarters and processed. She received motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Test, and Reckless Driving. Her vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Fraud – On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 6:14 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to police headquarters to take a report of computer fraud. The victim stated on October 30, 2018, while she was using her computer, she received an automated message stating there was a malware virus on her computer and she needed to click the link and call a contact telephone number for further instructions. After calling the provided number, she was advised to purchase two Google Play gift cards from any local convenience store in the amount of $500 each and provide the pin numbers on the back. She was later instructed to purchase another two Google Play gift cards for $500 each and provide the pin numbers for a total of $2000.00 After growing suspicious, the victim decided to call a representative from Microsoft. The Microsoft representative informed her that she was the victim of a scam. The victim contacted her bank and informed them of the incident.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, October 29, 2018, at 8:37 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a motor vehicle stop near Beach Boulevard and Sandyhook Drive in Forked River. Further investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Amanda Strader of Seaside Heights, NJ, had an outstanding warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $6,335. Amanda Strader was transported to police headquarters. Unable to post bail, she was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident.
  • DUI Arrest – On Monday, October 29, 2018, at 5:05 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow conducted a motor vehicle stop on Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 53-year-old Anthony N. Labrutto of Circle Drive, Manchester, NJ, for DUI. Anthony Labrutto was transported to police headquarters and processed. He received motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane, Refusal to Submit to Breath Test, Open Container, and Consuming Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. He also received criminal charges for resisting arrest. The vehicle Anthony Labrutto was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Car Burglary – On Sunday, October 28, 2018, at 9:59 p.m., Officers Anthony Sarno and Martin Julian responded to Center Street for a report of a motor vehicle burglary that just occurred. The victim reported seeing a female rummaging through his vehicle that was parked in his driveway. No items appeared to be taken from the vehicle. The victim provided a description and license plate number for the suspect. Investigation at the scene led the officers to an address on Newark Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old Melina A. Veintimilla of Newark Avenue, Forked River. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Melina A. Veintimilla was charged criminally on a summons for 3rd Degree Burglary. She was released on her own recognizance.
  • Fire – On Sunday, October 28, 2018, at 12:02 p.m., Officer Randolph Plis responded to the 300 block of Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River for a report of a small fire in the residence. The homeowner stated that his tenant used expanding foam to block a hole in the laundry room to keep the chipmunks from getting into the house. The hole was located close to the hot water heater and the fumes from the foam caused the pilot light to catch fire. The damage was minimal. No further assistance was needed.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, October 26, 2018, at 10:11 p.m., Officer John McKee conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 South near the Marina Buffet in Forked River. Officer Jesse Dalziel arrived on scene to assist. Investigation at the scene revealed that the driver, 24-year-old Brian E. Burlew of North Shore Drive in Forked River, had three outstanding warrants. The first warrant is out of Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $850. The second warrant is out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $10,000. The third warrant is out of Lakewood Township Municipal Court in the amount of $2,500. Brian Burlew was transported to police headquarters and processed. He received motor vehicle summonses for Headlights Required and Driving while Suspended. Unable to post bail, Brian Burlew was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident.
  • CDS Arrest – On Friday, October 26, 2018, at 9:48 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins assisted Special Officer Michael Moeller with a motor vehicle stop. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 39-year-old William J. Enoch of Walnut Street, Beachwood, NJ. William Enoch was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was charged on a criminal complaint summons for Possession of Marijuana Under 50 Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance.
  • Stolen Bicycle – On Friday, October 26, 2018, at 4:23 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the 200 block of Falkenburg Avenue in Forked River to take a report of theft of a bicycle. The victim reported that he left his green Trek Marlin mountain bike on the side of his friend’s house on Falkenburg Avenue on October 21, 2018. When the owner of the bike went to retrieve the mountain bike, it was missing. The bike is valued at $615.

  • Alcohol Arrest– On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 10:57 p.m., Officers Michael Baldasari, Scott Keefe, and Anthony Sarno responded to Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor for a report of people consuming alcohol inside a vehicle parked in the Walmart parking lot. Investigation at the scene led to 22 year-old Chelsea Griffith was received a municipal ordinance for consuming alcohol in a parking lot.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 12:06 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella was conducting a routine motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene revealed that the driver, 29-year-old Andrew J. Crouch of Lighthouse Drive, Waretown, NJ, had active warrants. The first warrant is out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department with bail set at $2500. The second warrant is out of Barnegat Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Unable to post bail, Officer Ricciardella transported Andrew Crouch to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 11:18 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella arrested 25-year-old Shamel I. Hawkins of Creek Road, Brick, NJ. While Shamel Hawkins was being processed by the Lacey Township Municipal Court, it was discovered that he had an active warrant out of Bedminster Municipal Court with bail set at $750. Shamel Hawkins was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident.
  • DUI Arrest – On Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 10:27 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Lacey Road and Railroad Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Rachel M. Bishop of George Road, Toms River, NJ, for DWI. Rachael Bishop was transported to police headquarters and processed. She received moto vehicle summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Car Burglary – On Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 11:46 a.m., Officers Randolph Plis and Michael Verwey responded to Gille Park in Forked River to take a report of a motor vehicle burglary. An unknown person(s) broke the rear passenger side window of her 2018 Dodge Durango. The victim reported that her Coach purse, valued at approximately $600, was taken. Shortly thereafter, Detective Adam Ewart arrived on scene and will continue with the investigation.
  • Residential Burglary – On Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 1:39 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1700 block of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River for a report of a residential burglary. The homeowner reported that several items, including a Sentry fire safe and jewelry, were missing from his residence that is under construction. It appeared that no forcible entry was made. The homeowner was last at the residence sometime between April and May of 2018.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 11:56 a.m., Officer Michael Moeller conducted a motor vehicle stop on Oak Street and Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene revealed that 57-year-old Ronald P. Broschart of Chelsea Street in Forked River had an outstanding warrant out of Wall Township Municipal Court in the amount of $100. Ronald Broschart was transported to police headquarters where he was provided a new court date by Wall Township. Ronald Broschart was released on his own recognizance and given a courtesy ride to his vehicle.
  • DUI Arrest – On Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 1:12 a.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to Pheasant Hollow Drive in Lanoka Harbor after receiving a call from Ocean Township Police Department. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 47-year-old Richard S. Fingerlin, Pheasant Hollow, Lanoka Harbor, for DWI. Richard Fingerlin was transported to police headquarters and processed. He received motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • DUI Arrest – On Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 12:17 a.m., Officer Patrick Watkins conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of Wells Fargo Bank on Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 32-year-old Jodilynne Lamberti of Tampa Road, Forked River. Jodilynne Lamberti was transported to police headquarters and processed. She received motor vehicle summonses for DUI, Suspended Driver License, Obstructing Flow of Traffic, and Reckless Driving. Jodilynne Lamberti was released after receiving a criminal complaint summons for Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams. The vehicle she was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

  • Car Burglary – On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 6:19 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 700 block of Amherst Road in Lanoka Harbor for a vehicle burglary.   The victim’s vehicle was locked and parked in her driveway. Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, an unknown person(s) smashed the passenger side widow and stole items from within. The cost to repair the window is estimated at $500. The value of the stolen property is over $100.
  • Car Burglary – On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 5:50 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 600 block of Colgate Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a vehicle burglary. The victim reported that between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday, and unknown person(s) smashed the front passenger side window and the rear passenger side window and stole items from within. The vehicle was locked and parked in the driveway of his residence. The damage to the vehicle is estimated at $1000. The estimated value of the stolen property is over $600.
  • Theft – On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 10:24 p.m., Officer Jason Lee responded to the Walmart on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of theft. The victim stated that she placed her purse on a rack in the men’s section of the store. While she was trying on an item, she forgot her purse was on the rack. She located the purse on the ground and realized that $400 was missing from her wallet. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Suspicious Incident – On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 1:20 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to police headquarters to take a report of a suspicious incident. The complainant reported that he was selling a quad on Craigslist for $2500. He received an email from an interested buyer who sent him a check for $4350 for the quad and shipping costs. The check turned out to be fake. The seller did not continue with the transaction and is not out any money.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, October 15, 2018, at 11:49 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 and Lakeside Drive South in Forked River. Further investigation revealed the driver, 42-year-old Michael A. Vizzone of New Brunswick Avenue, Lavallette, NJ, had an active warrant out of Toms River Township Municipal Court in the amount of $600. Michael Vizzone was transported to police headquarters and processed.   He was issued a motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended.   Unable to post bail, Toms River Township Police Department took custody of Michael without incident.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, October 15, 2018, at 3:22 p.m., Officers Dan Ricciardella and John Simonson responded to Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor to serve an active warrant issued out of Toms River Municipal Court. The subject of the warrant, 39-year-old Donald S. Foster, was transported to Lacey police headquarters. An officer from Toms River Police Department responded to transfer Donald Foster to Toms River Police Department without incident.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 7:20 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was dispatched to the Wawa on Laurel Boulevard and Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a shoplifter who left the store on foot. The investigation led to the arrest on the following day of the accused, 57-year-old Charles T. Rice of Warren Avenue, Lanoka Harbor. Charles Rice was transported to police headquarters and processed on a summons for shoplifting. He was later released on his own recognizance.
  • DWI Arrest – On Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 12:06 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 North and Warren Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 29-year-old Pedro Vivas-Lopez of Ward Street, Bayville, NJ, for DWI. Pedro Vivas-Lopez was transported to police headquarters and processed. He received motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to Exhibit Documents-Insurance. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • CDS Arrest – On Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 9:14 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Oxford Road and Western Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old Nicholas P. Scorese of Beach Avenue, Beachwood, NJ. Nicholas Scorese was transported to police headquarters and processed. He received a criminal complaint summons for possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana as well as motor vehicle summonses for failure to observe traffic signal and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. He was released from custody without incident.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 12:10 a.m., Officers Scott Keefe, Michael Baldasari, Anthony Sarno, and Sergeant Robert Surtees responded to the 1000 block of South Branch Way in Forked River for a report of a dispute. Investigation at the scene found that 27-year-old Shayne T. Macavoy of Harris Road, Forked River, had an outstanding warrant out of Seaside Heights Municipal Court in the amount of $350. Shayne Macavoy was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident.
  • Fires – On Friday, October 12, 2018, at 6:35 p.m., Officers Julie Barcalow, Dan Ricciardella, and Anthony Sarno responded to the 400 block of Union Court in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a structure fire. The flames appeared to be coming from the electrical panel. Officer Sarno used a fire extinguisher on the electrical box. The Lanoka Harbor Fire Department arrived on scene and requested the power company shut off the power to the residence. The fire was extinguished and did not appear suspicious.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 5, 2018 through October 11th, 2018

 

 

 

  • Criminal Mischief (School Property) — On Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 11:23 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to Lacey Township Middle School for a report of Criminal Mischief. The victim reported that the vehicle was vandalized while parked on school property. The victim reported the driver’s side door was scratched approximately six inches in length. The victim reported that the door contained no scratches on it in the morning and noticed the scratch on the door at the end of the day. The damage is estimated at $500.00.
  • CDS Arrest — On Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 9:14 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 7-11 on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a suspicious vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 23-year-old Dominic C. Mullin of Bay Parkway, Waretown, NJ, for CDS. Dominic Mullin was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving a criminal summons for possession of CDS. Dominic Mullin also received a motor vehicle summons for CDS in Motor Vehicle.
  • Theft On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 8:13 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel took a report of theft at headquarters. The victim reported that her purse was stolen out of her vehicle that was parked on Tom Gray Court near Community Options in Forked River. Further investigation later revealed that one of her credit cards was used for a gas purchase in Bayville. A suspect was identified and questioned. The suspect, 22-year-old Chantel M. Moroz of Water Street, Barnegat, NJ, was arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft of Movable Property, Credit Card Theft, and Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards. Chantel Moroz was processed and released on a summons.
  • Fraud On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 5:34 p.m., Officer Michael Hutman responded to police headquarters to take a report of a fraud that occurred to a resident of Forked River. The victim reported that she received an email notification from Experian regarding a recent mortgage she applied for. The victim reported that she had not submitted for any type of mortgage or refinancing and believed that someone had used her information improperly. An alert was placed on her credit report by Experian.
  • Fraud On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 2:10 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas responded to police headquarters to take a report of a fraud that occurred to a resident of Forked River. The victim reported that she received a phone call from a male subject stating that they were from Publishers Clearing House and she had won $1,000,000.00. The subject advised her that he would just need a cashier’s check in the amount of $2,500.00 deposited in a numbered account to process the winnings. The victim processed the cashier’s check in the requested amount and never received the winnings. The case remains under investigation.
  • Theft On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 7:29 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to Caldwell Avenue in Forked River for a report of theft of a package. The victim reported that she ordered two shirts from Macy’s. The package was delivered and last seen in the mailbox at 6:15 p.m. on October 10, 2018.   The victim went to retrieve the mail at 7:20 p.m., and the package was gone.
  • Warrant Arrest On Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at 4:57 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene revealed that the driver, 49-year-old Dawn M. Cornelius of Beach Boulevard, Forked River, had two active traffic warrants out of Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Officer Brian Holt arrived on scene to assist. Dawn Cornelius was transported to police headquarters and processed. She received motor vehicle summonses for Driving while Suspended and Use of Cell Phone. Dawn Cornelius was processed released on her own recognizance.
  • Warrant Arrest On Sunday, October 7, 2018, at 4:14 p.m., Officers Dan Ricciardella and Anthony Sarno responded to Aloha Drive in Forked River to serve a warrant at the request of Berkeley Township Police Department. The accused, 33-year-old Anthony A. Crincoli of Marlin Drive, Bayville, NJ, was arrested and transported directly to Berkeley Township Police Department on the outstanding criminal warrant.
  • DWI Arrest On Sunday, October 7, 2018, at 2:18 a.m., Officer Julie Barcalow conducted a motor vehicle stop for maintenance of lamps near Route 9 South and Hollywood Boulevard in Forked River. Officer Scott Keefe assisted Officer Barcalow with the motor vehicle stop. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 34-year-old Shawn P. Weschler of Barnegat Beach Drive, Waretown, NJ, for DWI. Shawn Weschler was transported to police headquarters and processed. He received motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Maintenance of Lamps, Failure to Maintain Lane, Reckless Driving, and Driving While Intoxicated. The vehicle he was driving was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Fire – On Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 8:34 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to Gary Smith Way in Forked River for a report of smoke coming from The Cornerstone Apartment Complex, Building 9. The door to the apartment was locked and there appeared to be no one home. Full evacuation of Building 9 was ordered. The Forked River Fire Department arrived and made entry into the apartment. It was determined that the smoke was coming from the gas stove in the kitchen and both electric and gas was temporally turned off. After the scene was deemed safe, the residents were allowed to return to their homes.
  • CDS Arrest – On Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 7:53 p.m., Officers Christopher Meyler, Martin Julian, and Julie Barcalow responded to Wawa on Lacey Road in Forked River for a suspicious person. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 56-year-old William D. Perkins of Alpine Street, Forked River. William Perkins was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving a criminal complaint summons for Possession of CDS, Possession of a Prescription Legend Drug, and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle.
  • Warrant Arrest/Hindering Apprehension – On Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 12:29 p.m., Officers John Simonson and Michael Verwey responded to Hillwood Road in Forked River to serve an outstanding warrant on 30-year-old Alexander D. Petyo. Officers made contact with his sister, 32-year-old Kacey Petyo, who reported to the officers that he was not there. Investigation at the scene revealed he was in the backyard. Alexander Petyo was arrested on the outstanding criminal warrant and lodged in Ocean County Jail to await a bail hearing. Kacey Petyo was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension. She was served a copy of the summons and released on her own recognizance.
