- Burglary and Theft (Car) – On Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 6:50 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the 1700 block Whitcomb Road, Forked River, for a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that sometime between 9:30 p.m., on Monday, May 20, 2013, and 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, an unknown person entered her vehicle while it was parked in the driveway of the residence and stole items valued at $85.00.
- Theft – On Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 3:30 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to the Lacey Township High School for a theft. The victim stated that sometime between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., someone stole his cell phone from his gym locker. The cell phone is valued at $250.00.
- Burglary and Theft (Car) – On Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at 3:07 p.m., Officer Frederick Anderson and Special Officer Travis Horton, met with the victim who stated that sometime between the evening hours of May 20, 2013, and the later afternoon on May 21, 2013, unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her purse and related contents valued at approximately $369.00. The theft occurred either on the 1500 Block of Whitcomb Road, Forked River, or while it was parked at a Western Blvd School Building, Lanoka Harbor.
- Scrapping Incident – On Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at 5:28 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy charged 21-year-old Melissa Volker of Waretown with the municipal ordinance violation of Disturbance of Refuse (scrapping), after an incident on Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor. She was issued a summons for the violation as well as a separate summons for driving a vehicle without a license.
- Shoplifter and Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at 9:23 p.m., Officers Evan Androcy and Andrew Slota, responded to the Lacey Walmart for a shoplifter.Upon their arrival, 24 year-old Melissa Weidencamp of Lanoka Harbor was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $43.77, as well as on a Woodland Township arrest warrant for $750. Melissa Weidencamp was processed and released after receiving a criminal summons for the shoplifting. She was released ROR by the Woodland Township Municipal Court on the warrant.
- Burglary and Theft (Car) – On Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 12:17 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer met with a victim who wanted to report a theft from his vehicle that occurred between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. on the prior evening. The vehicle was parked in the 7-11 Store parking lot on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor. The items stolen from the vehicle included: cash and sunglasses with a total value of $180.
- Drug Distribution Arrests – On the evening of Thursday, May 23, 2013, Lacey Township Police Department detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Lacey Road and Newark Avenue as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. A search of the stopped vehicle yielded 260 bags of heroin and led to the arrest of the occupants of the vehicle. Passengers in the vehicle, 28-year-old William Shelby, Jr. of Clubhouse Drive (also Chelsea Street) in Forked River and 48-year-old Diane Marie Cannito of Lake Barnegat Drive in Forked River were charged with Possession of Heroin and Intent to Distribute Heroin. Both Forked River residents were lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. The street value of the drugs is estimated at over $3,000. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Brendan Gallivan of 7th Street in Waretown, was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin and issued an additional charge of having a controlled substance inside the vehicle. Another passenger, 23-year-old Lauren Jaegge of Pine Tree Road in Forked River, was also charged with Possession of Heroin. Both were released on their own recognizance pending a court appearance.
- Theft – On Friday, May 24, 2013, at 11:31 a.m., Officer John Cernek responded to the 900 block of Clubhouse Drive for a theft. The victim stated that sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown person stole two solar lights valued at $25.00 each that were placed out in the front of the residence.
- Burglary and Theft (Car) – On Friday, May 24, 2013, at 12:17 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the 300 block of Briggs Ave, Forked River, for a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that sometime between the evening of May 23, 2013 and the morning of May 24, 2013, an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS valued at $400.
- Warrant Arrests – On Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 1:54 a.m., Officer Michael Eden responded to the Lacey Inn for a suspicious incident. While investigating the incident, two (2) arrest warrants were located for 24-year-old Brittany Gibson of Forked River. Warrant #1 was from Lacey Township for $500.00 and warrant #2 was from Toms River for $600.00. Brittany Gibson was arrested and transported to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of the $1,100 bail.
- Burglary and Theft (Car) – On Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 3:23 p.m., Officer Paul Sullivan responded to the 500 block of Devoe Avenue in Forked River for a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim stated that sometime during the overnight hours of May 25, 2013, the suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her cell phone valued at $200.
- Shoplifters (Arrests) – On Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 6:34 p.m., Officers responded to the Lacey Walmart for two shoplifters. Upon arrival, 26-year-old Christopher Savinon-Ovalles of New York and 24-year-old Vicente Espinal of New York were each arrested for shoplifting merchandise consisting of a computer valued at $448. They were each processed and later released on a criminal summons.
- Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 9:13 p.m., Officer Michael Eden conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road. During the traffic stop, the driver, 26-year-old David J. Ianniello of Staten Island, NY, was found to have a Ridgefield Boro, New Jersey, arrest warrant in the amount of $525.00. He was arrested, processed, and later released.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, May 26, 2013, at 2:10 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 S at the Ocean Township line. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 47-year-old Eric W. Hesterman of West Creek, NJ, for DUI. He was processed and later released.
- Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, May 26, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue arrested 47-year-old Joseph M. Demorato of Forked River at a Stephanie Court address for outstanding warrants. Warrant #1 was issued by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department for $37,945.99, warrant #2 was issued by South Toms River for $500.00, and warrant #3 was issued by Barnegat Township for $500.00. Joseph M. Demorato was transported to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of the bail.
- Burglary and Theft (Car) – On Sunday, May 26, 2013, at 9:20 p.m., Officer Kymberly Gudgeon took a report from the victim who stated that her car was burglarized while parked at a residence on the 800 block of Spar Dr, Forked River. The theft occurred between 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on May 26, 2013. The victim reported that her wallet and contents, valued at $24.00, was stolen.
- Burglary and Theft (Car) – On Monday, May 27, 2013, at 8:11 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the 400 block of Center St, Forked River, for a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim stated that sometime within the past week, an unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle while parked at the residence and stole a GPS valued at $125.
- Criminal Mischief – On Monday, May 27, 2013, at 3:28 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to the Beach Park on Beach Boulevard in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief. The caller reported observing two male juveniles and one female juvenile (no further description), writing on the playground equipment with a marker. Upon the officer’s arrival, the juveniles were gone. Officer Slota is continuing the investigation. Estimated damage to repair same is $200.
- Warrant Arrests – On Monday, May 27, 2013, at 4:36 p.m., Lacey Detectives Robert Surtees and Samuel Della Sala, responded to the 700 block of Briar Road, Lanoka Harbor and arrested 21-year-old Kyle Pianetti of Lanoka Harbor on two outstanding warrants. Warrant #1 was issued by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department for $20,000.00 and warrant #2 was issued by Lacey Township for $1,500.00. Kyle Pianetti was transported to Ocean County Jail in lieu of the bail.
