Warrant & Possession of Heroin (Arrest) – On Monday, February 4, 2014, at 4:50 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Dimitri Tsarnas responded to 2006 Brookdale Drive in the Pheasant Run section of Forked River in an attempt to serve an arrest warrant. Upon arrival, officers located 27-year-old Dillon J. Dittenhofer who was subsequently arrested on an outstanding $1,000 failure-to-appear warrant out of the Lacey Township Municipal Court. In addition, he was found to be in possession of 35 bags of Heroin. Dillon Dittenhofer was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Clonazepam, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bail was set at $35,000 with no 10 percent option. Dillon J. Dittenhofer was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

Possession of Stolen Property (Arrests) – On Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 12:31 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota was patrolling the parking lot of Rella’s Restaurant, 443 Route 9 South, in Forked River, when he noticed that an unknown person or persons damaged and stole parts from several air conditioning units from the building. Officer Jeffrey Slota initiated an investigation. On Monday, February 3, 2014, at approximately 10:02 a.m., this agency was contacted by a caretaker from Rella’s Restaurant who was reporting three suspicious males that were in the rear parking lot of Rella’s Restaurant retrieving items from the woods and placing them into the rear of a pickup truck. The caller stated that the vehicle left the parking lot, and the caller proceeded to follow the suspect vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of Caffrey’s Restaurant. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of three males identified as 19-year-old Casey Sinopoli of Clairmore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor; 19-year-old Eric Anderson of Dolphin Court in Forked River; and 20-year-old Nicholas B. Cicerello of Deguise Street in Lanoka Harbor. Each was charged with Possession of Stolen Property; specifically, air compressor coils and copper piping valued at approximately $1,800. Nicholas Cicerello and Eric Anderson were processed and served with a criminal summons pending a court date. Casey Sinopoli was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000. The vehicle they were operating was impounded for possible forfeiture proceedings.

Shoplifting (Arrests) – On Sunday, February 2, 2014, at 2:52 p.m., loss prevention personnel of the Walmart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, reported the theft of two Vizio 32” LED televisions that occurred earlier in the day. Officer Peter Donahue conducted an investigation which led to the arrest of 34-year-old Charles C. English of Mallard Road in Bayville, NJ, and 38-year-old Kevin T. Reilly of Sica Road in Toms River, NJ, for the shoplifting incident. Charles English was arrested at his home by Officer Donahue with the assistance of Berkeley Township police officers. He was transported to the Lacey Township Police Headquarters, processed, and released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Stolen Property and Fencing. Kevin Reilly was arrested on two outstanding warrants in Toms River by the Toms River Police Department. Officer Donahue responded to Toms River Police Headquarters and took custody of Kevin Reilly. He was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting and Fencing. Bail was set at $10,000 with no ten percent option. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of the bail.

Fraud – On Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 11:07 a.m., a resident of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River reported that on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, he received a phone call at his home from a man claiming he was from a Microsoft Security Agency. The caller advised the resident that his computer had a virus. He was further advised that if he paid a $375 fee, the supposed Microsoft agent could remotely fix his computer. The victim provided his credit card number and social security number. On January 30, 2014, an unknown person had $1,024 transferred from the victim’s bank account to Western Union without the victim’s consent. It was determined that the Microsoft incident was a scam.

DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, January 31, 2014, at 11:46 p.m., Officer Peter Donahue conducted a traffic stop on Lake Barnegat Drive North and Easy Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 53-year-old Timothy Mason of Serpentine Drive in Forked River for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Timothy Mason was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, DUI Refusal, Reckless Driving, Speeding, and Failure to Maintain Lane. His passenger, the registered owner of the vehicle, identified as 57-year-old Suyuan C. Mason, was issued a traffic summons for allowing the driver to operate her vehicle DUI. The vehicle Timothy Mason was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Theft – On Friday, January 31, 2014, at 8:30 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to the 800 block of Rogers Street in Lanoka Harbor for a theft report. The complainant stated that between 10:00 p.m. on January 30, 2014, and 8:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole a furnace valued at $200 that was on the side of the residence. The victim reported that she first became aware of the theft when a neighbor found the furnace on the neighbor’s property. The complainant has since recovered her furnace.

Theft and Criminal Mischief (Business) – On Friday, January 31, 2014, at 4:35 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to 510 Route 9 South in Forked River for a theft. The complainant reported that during the last two weeks an unknown person or persons entered a commercial building located at 510 Route 9 S in Forked River and stole items including but not limited to several hundred feet of copper wire and multiple hard drives. The exact total for the theft and damage is unknown at this time. Detective Alan Abrecht is conducting the follow-up investigation.

Drug Possession (Arrest) – On Friday, January 31, 2014, at 10:57 a.m., Officers Dan Ricciardella and Jeff Slota responded to the 100 block of Seabright Road in Forked River for a resident reportedly under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS). Upon arrival, officers spoke with 30-year-old Dorian Knorr. Investigation at the scene led to his arrest for Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Dorian Knorr was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Shoplifting and Warrant (Arrest) – On Friday, January 31, 2014, at 11:32 a.m., Officer Robert Flynn responded to Kohl’s, 344 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Edward Bizzaro who resides at the Lacey Inn, Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $59.99. He was also found to have an outstanding arrest warrant from Lacey Township in the amount of $500. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Edward Bizzaro was charged with Shoplifting with bail set at $500. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility with a total bail of $1,000 which included the outstanding warrant and the warrant issued on the shoplifting offense.

Theft and Criminal Mischief – On Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 7:28 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 700 block of Spruce Road in Lanoka Harbor for criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 12:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014, and 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, an unknown person or persons stole a battery valued at $100 from his RV that was parked in the driveway. During the theft, the battery cables were cut causing $100 in damage.

Traffic Accident with DUI (Arrest) – On Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 6:32 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to Route 9 South near the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station for a motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old Joshua Allota of 5th Street in Waretown, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and Open Container in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle Joshua Allota was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.

Shoplifting (Arrest) – On Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 6:32 p.m., Officers John Simonson and Keith Pearce responded to Kohl’s, 304 Route 9 North in Forked River for two female shoplifters. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Bianca Soliz and 21-year-old Kirsten G. Golda, both of Beach Boulevard in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at approximately $85. They were both transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after they each received a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
