Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 26th through November 1st, 2016
- Drug Arrest – On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 2:48 p.m., Officer Brian Holt conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Lacey Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 21-year-old Todd R. Sinn of Chestnut Street in Waretown, NJ, for Possession of Marijuana. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Todd R. Sinn was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- Shoplifting – On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 1:07 a.m., Officers Jason Lee and Scott Keefe responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male fall victim in the restroom. Upon arrival the male subject was located on the floor of the restroom. He was alert and conscious, however, had some minor injuries consistent with falling. An Investigation at the scene determined that the male, identified as 31-year-old George Buzinkai of Hilltop Drive in Bayville, NJ, had shoplifted two cans of “Dust Off” from inside the store and had used one of them as in inhalant just before falling in the restroom. George Buzinkai was treated for his injuries. He was charged on a complaint summons with Shoplifting merchandise valued at approximately $10.00, and Use of an Inhalant.
- Aggravated Assault– On Monday, October 31, 2016, at 9:46 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the 1200 block of Spruce Street in Forked River for a report of threats involving a knife. The victim reported that he observed three male juveniles steal his neighbor’s pumpkin from the front of the residence, and when he confronted them about the theft, one of the male juveniles threatened him with a knife. An investigation led to the arrest of a 15-year-old juvenile male from Forked River. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. The 15-year-old juvenile male was charged on Juvenile Complaints with Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Aggravated Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Underage Consumption of Alcohol. He was released to the custody of his parents.
- Theft – On Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 3:59 a.m., two male suspects were observed stealing a canoe valued at $1000.00 from the yard of 707 Stephanie Court and putting it in the lagoon. The two males entered the canoe and were observed heading across the water. Approximately one hour later, Officer Andrew Slota recovered the canoe in the lagoon off Bogota Lane South in Forked River. The incident is under investigation.
- Burglary and Theft – On Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 3:57 a.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to the 1100 block of Albatross Court in Forked River, for a residential burglary that just occurred. The complainant reported that two male subjects entered her home through a front window and stole two bottles of liquor valued at $60.00. The males were observed fleeing the area. The incident is under investigation.
- Fire – On Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 5:09 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Hamptonshire Way in Forked River, for a report of a fire. The caller reported that a gas grill caught fire in the backyard and the flames were approaching the residence. Officer Ricciardella was able to suppress a majority of the fire with his department issued fire extinguisher until the Forked River Fire Department arrived and extinguished it. The Ocean County Fire Marshal responded to investigate.
- Theft – On Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 10:39 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to the Hometown Market located at 725 Route 9 South in Forked River for a dispute. The complainant advised that he and the accused, 44-year-old Robert Roefaro, of Evans Road in Forked River, became involved in a dispute over the fact that Robert Roefaro had stolen property of his, including but not limited to a cigarette making device. The investigation resulted in Robert Roefaro receiving a Special Form of Complaint and Summons charging him with theft in the amount of $50.00.
- Theft – On Friday, October 28, 2016, at 9:25 a.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to Police Headquarters in reference to a theft report. A representative from the Jersey Conservation Foundation reported that between October 25, 2016, and October 27, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole approximately 600 feet of ¾” steel cable from the area along Switch Road in Forked River. The theft is estimated at $1800.00. The incident is under investigation.
- Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 2:46 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Cody Alvira, of Raymond Road in Forked River, on an outstanding Evesham Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500.00. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Cody Alvira was issued traffic summonses for Expired Vehicle Registration and for Driving with a Suspended License. He was released after posting full bail.
- Shoplifting – On Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 6:48 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 57-year-old Paul Debello of Jefferson Lane in Whiting, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $80.75. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Paul Debello was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
- Burglary, Theft, and Forgery – On Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 1:40 p.m., Officers responded to the TD Bank, located at 106 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of a male suspect inside the store attempting to cash a stolen check. Upon arrival, it was learned that the male had fled the scene on foot. A description was provided and a short time later the suspect was located walking on Caldwell Avenue in Forked River. Officer Martin Julian stopped the suspect who initially provided a false name before running away. Officers pursued the suspect through several yards before he jumped into the Mill Pond, swam across to the other side and entered a patch of woods. Officers set up a perimeter and a short time later Detective Adam Ewart and Officer Frederick Anderson took the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Armin F. Godier of Sarasota Drive in Forked River, into custody. An investigation revealed that Armin Godier had burglarized a vehicle parked at F & F Auto Body, 12A Taylor Lane in Forked River, and stole a checkbook from inside. In addition, he burglarized a second vehicle at the same location and stole a New Jersey Driver’s License. Armin Godier then attempted to cash the stolen check at TD Bank before fleeing. Armin Godier was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. He was charged with Burglary, Theft, Uttering, Resisting Arrest by Flight, and Hindering Apprehension. Bail was set in the amount of $35,000.00. Armin Godier was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

- Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 7:02 p.m., Lieutenant Christopher Kenny and Officer Christopher Meyler responded to Hastings Court in Forked River, for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 27-year-old Kenneth R. Novak of Hastings Court in Forked River, on an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department No-Bail Warrant. Kenneth Novak was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
- Shoplifting – On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 6:48 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe and Jason Lee responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for an adult male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 57-year-old Paul A. Debello of Jefferson Lane in Whiting, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $80.75. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Paul A. Debello was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
- Theft – On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 9:27 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to police headquarters in reference to a report of theft. The victim stated that between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016, an unknown person or persons stole his 2012 black Trek Navigator 1 bicycle from the vicinity of Wendy’s, located at 301 Route 9 North in Forked River. The bicycle was secured to a tree in the area of the bus stop. The bicycle is valued at approximately $1,000.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, October 23, 2016, at 6:11 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Lakeside Drive South near Bullard Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 33-year-old Mallory L. Thomas of Daytona Road in Forked River for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Mallory L. Thomas was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding, and Failure to Yield Right of Way. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting – On Sunday, October 23, 2016, at 10:31 a.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a female shoplifter who was observed on surveillance video shoplifting merchandise on the prior day, Saturday, October 22nd, 2016. An investigation resulted in the issuance of a criminal warrant for Shoplifting merchandise valued at $727.28, for the accused, 49-year-old Laura A. Adams of Guadeloupe Drive in Toms River, NJ. Bail is set in the amount of $10,000.
- Shoplifting – On Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 5:31 p.m., Officers Patrick Watkins and Michael Verwey responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for an adult male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 56-year-old Giacomino A. Sandella of Oak Hill Court in Lanoka Harbor for shoplifting merchandise valued at $47.20. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Giacomino Sandella was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
- Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 10:01 a.m., Officer John Cernek responded to the 800 block of Tampa Road in Forked River for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. The complainant reported that between 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016, and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016, an unknown person or persons broke the rear driver’s side window of her vehicle which was parked in the roadway just east of her driveway. The total damage is estimated at $150.
- Shoplifting – On Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 9:11 p.m., Officers John McKee and Brian Holt responded to JR’s Liquors, located at 1000 Lacey Road in Forked River, for an adult female shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 33-year-old Kristen A. Hansen of Oxford Road in Lanoka Harbor for shoplifting merchandise valued at $12.83. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kristen A. Hansen was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
- DUI Arrest – On Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 7:50 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and George Resetar responded to Mrs. Walker’s, located at 132 Route 9 South in Forked River for a report of an intoxicated driver in the parking lot. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 34-year-old Melony S. Gilchrist of Allwood Place in Forked River for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Melony Gilchrist was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Open Container in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Aggravated Assault – On Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 4:30 p.m., Officers Jesse Dalziel and Michael Hein responded to Gille Park, located at 56 Manchester Avenue in Forked River, for a report of an altercation involving two males, one of which was armed with a knife. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 19-year-old Alexander Ortiz of Summit Avenue in Toms River, NJ, for Aggravated Assault by threatening the victim with a knife. Alexander Ortiz was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving criminal summonses for Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
- Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at 10:46 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Lacey Township Municipal Court, located at 818 Lacey Road in Forked River, to serve an arrest warrant. Upon arrival, Officer Dalziel arrested 27-year-old Kyle Ranghelli of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River, on an outstanding child support warrant in the amount of $5791. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 12th through October 17th, 2016
- Criminal Mischief – On Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 5:05 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow took a report of criminal mischief at the Lacey Pop Warner football field located in Clune Park, located at 740 Sandyhook Drive in Forked River. The complainant stated that between 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016, and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016, an unknown person or persons knocked over a port-a-potty. Additionally, the pads were removed from the goal posts on the football field and thrown into the woods, and potted mums were tossed onto the field, damaging the flowers. The total damage is estimated at $200.00.
- Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 4:03 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the area of Warren Avenue and South Street in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a suspicious male subject. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 28-year-old Franklin R. Sheppard, of Manchester Avenue in Forked River, on three (3) outstanding warrants issued from the Atlantic City Municipal Court. Warrant number one (1) was issued in the amount of $200.00, and Warrant number two (2) was issued in the amount of $800.00. Warrant number three (3) was issued in the amount of $200.00. Franklin R. Sheppard was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after posting full bail on all three (3) warrants.
- Burglary and Theft (Bicycle) – On Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 2:42 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to police headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that between Wednesday, October 12, 2016, and Sunday, October 16, 2016, his Trek Mountain Bicycle, Model 820 (dark green and silver in color) was stolen from a screened in porch in his backyard located on the 500 block of Devon Street in Forked River. The bicycle is valued at $400.00. The incident is under investigation.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 2:43 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop on Lakeside Drive South near Sylvania Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 26-year-old Tyler F. Kennedy of Lakeside Drive South in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Tyler Kennedy was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 10:36 p.m., Officers Jason Lee and Julie Barcalow responded to the 500 block of Elwood Street in Forked River, for a report of a residential burglary. The victims stated that between 2:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on October 15, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered their residence and stole cash, jewelry, and other items valued at $39,000.00. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence. Lacey Police Detective Keith Pearce and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI responded. The incident is under investigation.
- Shoplifting – On Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 4:33 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to Payless Shoe Source, located in the Lacey Mall at 348 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of shoplifting. Investigation at the scene revealed that a male juvenile wearing dark, bulky clothing, entered the store and walked to the men’s shoe area. While the store’s employee was ringing up another customer, she observed the juvenile male run out of the store wearing a new pair of sneakers. When the employee exited the store, she observed the juvenile male traveling on a skate board heading north through the plaza towards Route 9. The sneakers were described as Champion hi-top sneakers red and black in color, size 10, which had a price of $39.99. The incident is under investigation.
- Theft from a Person – On Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 3:47 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the McDonald’s, located at 404 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a stolen purse. The victim reported that she sat in a booth in the northeast corner of the building and believed her purse was stolen from that area or while she was at the refreshment center. Her brown leather purse contained $250.00 in cash, and other miscellaneous items. The total theft is estimated at $330.00. The incident is under investigation.
- Burglary and Theft (Autos) – On Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 12:44 p.m., Officer John Cernek responded to Saltspray Drive in Forked River, for a report of a burglary and theft from two motor vehicles. Investigation at the scene revealed that between 11:30 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016, and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered the victim’s two unlocked vehicles which were parked in the driveway. The stolen items from the first vehicle included a hunting backpack, hunting license, Trex handheld GPS, Bushnell binoculars, a “gut” knife, and four lights, for a total value of $1,350.00. The stolen items from the second vehicle included a Kershaw pocket knife, an old silver watch with a brown face and metal band, and a bag of miscellaneous change, for a total value of $180.00. The incident is under investigation.
- Drug Arrest – On Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 12:33 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the Lacey Diner located at 530 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of an unconsiocus male lying on the front sidewalk. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Landon S. Ruutikainen of Grand Avenue in Toms River, NJ, for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Landon S. Ruutikainen was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Heroin and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe.
- DUI Arrest – On Friday, October 14, 2016, at 9:48 p.m., Sergeant Dimitri Tsarnas and Officer Michael Verwey were dispatched to South Street and Railroad Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a possible intoxicated driver with a flat tire. A short time later the vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 45-year-old Debra M. Downs of Thrush Court in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Debra Downs was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Friday, October 14, 2016, at 6:07 a.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to the 1500 block of Arient Road in Forked River, for a report of a burglary and theft from a motor vehicle. Investigation at the scene revealed that between 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016, and 6:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle which was parked in the driveway and stole an engagement ring and wedding band, along with a sapphire ring, and a box of medication estimated at $4,025.00. The incident is under investigation.
- Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Thursday, October 13, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to police headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that her wallet was stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in her driveway on the 600 block of Windsor Street in Forked River. The victim further reported that the theft occurred between Tuesday evening, October 11, 2016, and Wednesday morning, October 12, 2016. The stolen items included a gray 31 Brand wallet and its contents for a total value of $30.00. The victim was unaware that her wallet was stolen until she attempted to use her debit card and learned from the bank that it was frozen due to fraudulent activity. The incident is under investigation.

- Trespassing – On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at 10:19 p.m., Officers George Resetar and John McKee responded to the Kohl’s parking lot, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of two males climbing onto the roof of the Mattress Warehouse store. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Daniel F. Magliola of Station Drive in Forked River and 19-year-old Anthony L. Depinto of Nantucket Road in Forked River for Defiant Trespass. The subjects were issued Special Form of Complaint Summonses and released at the scene.
- Warrant Arrest – On Monday, October 10, 2016, at 2:03 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 33-year-old Jessica L. Conforti, of Hyers Street in Toms River, NJ, on an outstanding Jackson Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $109. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Jessica Conforti was unable to post bail and was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
- DUI Arrest – On Sunday, October 9, 2016, at 7:50 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near the Forked River Post Office in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, Robert Shultz, Jr., of Mercer Drive in Doylestown, PA, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Robert Shultz, Jr., was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Motor Vehicle Accident (Pedestrian) – On Sunday, October 9, 2016, at 9:18 p.m., Sergeant Dimitri Tsarnas, along with Officers Julie Barcalow, and Christopher Meyler, responded to the intersection of Route 9 South and Taylor Lane in Forked River, for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The pedestrian, identified as 42-year-old Gabriel Vasquez-Valencia of Forked River, was attempting to cross Route 9 near Taylor Lane from the east side of the roadway and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Route 9. Gabriel Vasquez-Valencia was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 60-year-old Patricia Baran of Glenn Falls, NY, did not sustain injuries. Detective Adam Ewart and Officer Michael Verwey of the Lacey Township Police Crash Team responded to conduct the investigation. Assistance was provided by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
- DUI Arrest with Accident – On Sunday, October 9, 2016, at 1:24 a.m., Officers Jason Lee and Julie Barcalow responded to the intersection of Deerhead Lake Drive and Llewellyn Parkway in Forked River, for a report of a one car accident. The caller reported that the vehicle struck a stop sign and drove into a tree. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 31-year-old Joseph L. Gonzalez, of Llewellyn Parkway in Forked River, for DUI. Joseph L. Gonzalez was charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. Due to an injury, he was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. The vehicle Joseph L. Gonzalez was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Shoplifting – On Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 12:21 a.m., Officers Jason Lee and Michael Verwey responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of an employee that was caught stealing merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the employee, 39-year-old Kelly Sedeyn of Hickory Lane in Lanoka Harbor, for the theft of merchandise, including candles, and clothing, with a total value of $373.06. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kelly Sedeyn was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
- Warrant Arrest – On Friday, October 7, 2016, at 10:12 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to police headquarters in reference to serving outstanding warrants. Upon arrival, 37-year-old Ryan A. Burlew, of Harris Road in Forked River, was arrested on two (2) outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $250. and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $350. Ryan Burlew was processed and released after posting full bail on both warrants.
- DUI Arrest – On Friday, October 7, 2016, at 9:53 p.m., Officers Julie Barcalow and Jason Lee responded to the area of Lacey Road and Route 9 in Forked River, for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. A description of the vehicle was provided and the vehicle was located near Lacey Road and Parker Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 70-year-old Richard W. Deakyne, of Maxim Drive in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Richard Deakyne was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to Observe Traffic Signal. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
- Theft (Residence) – On Friday, October 7, 2016, at 3:17 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to Dunberry Drive in Forked River, for a report of a theft. The victim reported jewelry stolen from an unsecured safe located in his house on September 3, 2016. The items were described as a Ladies Diamond and Sapphire pendant and earrings, along with a gold bracelet with Sapphires, valued at $7000.00. There were no signs of forced entry. The incident is under investigation.
- Warrant Arrest – On Friday, October 7, 2016, at 10:18 a.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to police headquarters in reference to serving an outstanding warrant. Upon arrival, 28-year-old Kenneth F. Ward, of Bowsprit Point in Lanoka Harbor, was arrested on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant with a bail amount of $300. Kenneth Ward was processed and released after posting full bail.
- DUI and Drug Arrest- On Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 3:28 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to Frazee Place and Woodside Drive in Forked River for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old William J. Greene-Vonglahn, from Parker Avenue in Forked River, for DUI and Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. William J. Greene-Vonglahn was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of CDS (Heroin). In addition, he received traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and CDS in a motor vehicle. The vehicle William J. Greene-Vonglahn was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – September 30th through October 4th, 2016
- Shoplifting– On Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 12:29 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a an adult female shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 59-year-old Michele T. Boyle of First Street in Barnegat, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $43.16. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Michele T. Boyle was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
- Theft from a Person– On Monday, October 3, 2016 at 4:25 p.m. Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the area of Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor to take a report of theft. The victim reported that on October 2, 2016, he was at the bus stop on Route 9 North near the Lacey Mall (Shop Rite) when he fell asleep. When he woke up he realized that someone removed his wallet from his pocket along with his medications. The wallet contained $12.00 in cash along with several identification documents. The incident is under investigation.
- Fraud– On Monday, October 3, 2016 at 3:09 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud. The victim, a Forked River resident, reported that she befriended a man on Facebook with the name of “Tyler Nunes.” After several weeks of corresponding with him on Facebook she was told by him that he was currently on a ship in Syria. He then requested she send him money so he could purchase a computer to communicate with his daughter. The victim sent the requested funds for the purchase of the computer. The victim stated that she was then asked for additional money to help him, which she sent. After a period of time of being asked for additional money, the victim realized she might have been scammed and stopped sending him money. In total the victim was defrauded in excess of $36,000.00 in Money Grams and wire transfers. The incident is under investigation.
- Shoplifting – On Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 2:37 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of an adult male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene revealed that 29-year-old Scott A. Montefusco of Grand Central Parkway in Bayville, NJ, shoplifted a sweater valued at $98.00, and upon being confronted by the Asset Protection employee, fled the scene. The merchandise was recovered, however, Scott A. Montefusco was not located. He was charged with Shoplifting and a warrant was issued in the amount of $1,500.00 for his arrest.
- Drug Arrest – On Saturday, October 1st, 2016, at 12:47 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to Huffy Wallis Park, located at 1740 Parkside Drive in Forked River, for a suspicious vehicle. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, a 17-year-old female juvenile from Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. The female juvenile was in possession of 11 individually wrapped bags of marijuana packaged for sales, along with a digital scale and assorted drug paraphernalia. Narcotics Detective Brian Flynn responded to assist in the investigation. The female juvenile was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was released to a parent after being criminally charged on juvenile complaints with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition she received traffic summonses for Driving without a License, and for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle she was operating was impounded for being utilized during the commission of a crime.
- Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 8:17 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 200 block of Station Drive in Forked River, for a report of a burglary. Investigation at the scene revealed that the victim was a subcontractor who was hired to renovate a vacant house. The victim reported that between 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, and the morning of Saturday, October 1, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered the residence and stole numerous power tools belonging to him. There was no sign of forced entry. The total theft is valued at $2,272.94.
- Drug Arrest – On Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 1:51 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Game Farm Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 18-year-old Michael S. Johnson of Randolph Place in Forked River, for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Michael Johnson was released after receiving criminal summonses for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Tinted Windows, CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and a Passenger Restriction Violation (Probationary License).
- Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 30, 2016, at 8:49 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to Parker Street in Forked River, to serve two (2) arrest warrants. Upon arrival, Officer Sarno arrested 28-year-old April Isdanavich on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of 500.00 and an Ocean County Sheriff’s Department no-bail probation warrant. April Isdanavich was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
- Shoplifting Arrest – On Friday, September 30, 2016, at 8:27 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an adult male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old Frank Pezzuti, 3rd of Michigan Avenue in Waretown, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $49.83. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Frank Pezzuti was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
- Traffic Accident (Pedestrian) – On Friday, September 30, 2016, at 10:23 p.m. Officers Christopher Meyler and Michael Verwey responded to the intersection of Route 9 and Lakeside Drive South in Forked River, for a pedestrian struck. Preliminary investigation revealed a male pedestrian; 42-year-old Gabriel Vasquez-Valencia of Forked River, was walking across the intersection from the northbound side of Route 9 and was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound. The driver of the vehicle, Nancy Gorczyca of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, did not sustain any injuries. Gabriel Vasquez-Valencia was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, for treatment of his injuries. The Lacey Township Police Accident Investigation Unit along with members from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the accident.
- Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 30, 2016, at 1:49 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Vaughn Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Alexandro G. Tsarnas of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $250.00. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Alexandro Tsarnas was released after posting full bail.
