  • Trespassing –  On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at 10:19 p.m., Officers George Resetar and John McKee responded to the Kohl’s parking lot, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of two males climbing onto the roof of the Mattress Warehouse store. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Daniel F. Magliola of Station Drive in Forked River and 19-year-old Anthony L. Depinto of Nantucket Road in Forked River for Defiant Trespass. The subjects were issued Special Form of Complaint Summonses and released at the scene.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, October 10, 2016, at 2:03 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 33-year-old Jessica L. Conforti, of Hyers Street in Toms River, NJ, on an outstanding Jackson Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $109. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Jessica Conforti was unable to post bail and was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
  • DUI Arrest – On Sunday, October 9, 2016, at 7:50 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near the Forked River Post Office in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, Robert Shultz, Jr., of Mercer Drive in Doylestown, PA, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed.  Robert Shultz, Jr., was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident (Pedestrian) – On Sunday, October 9, 2016, at 9:18 p.m., Sergeant Dimitri Tsarnas, along with Officers Julie Barcalow, and Christopher Meyler, responded to the intersection of Route 9 South and Taylor Lane in Forked River, for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The pedestrian, identified as 42-year-old Gabriel Vasquez-Valencia of Forked River, was attempting to cross Route 9 near Taylor Lane from the east side of the roadway and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Route 9. Gabriel Vasquez-Valencia was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 60-year-old Patricia Baran of Glenn Falls, NY, did not sustain injuries. Detective Adam Ewart and Officer Michael Verwey of the Lacey Township Police Crash Team responded to conduct the investigation. Assistance was provided by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
  • DUI Arrest with Accident – On Sunday, October 9, 2016, at 1:24 a.m., Officers Jason Lee and Julie Barcalow responded to the intersection of Deerhead Lake Drive and Llewellyn Parkway in Forked River, for a report of a one car accident. The caller reported that the vehicle struck a stop sign and drove into a tree. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 31-year-old Joseph L. Gonzalez, of Llewellyn Parkway in Forked River, for DUI.  Joseph L. Gonzalez was charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. Due to an injury, he was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. The vehicle Joseph L. Gonzalez was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Shoplifting – On Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 12:21 a.m., Officers Jason Lee and Michael Verwey responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of an employee that was caught stealing merchandise. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the employee, 39-year-old Kelly Sedeyn of Hickory Lane in Lanoka Harbor, for the theft of merchandise, including candles, and clothing, with a total value of $373.06. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kelly Sedeyn was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, October 7, 2016, at 10:12 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to police headquarters in reference to serving outstanding warrants. Upon arrival, 37-year-old Ryan A. Burlew, of Harris Road in Forked River, was arrested on two (2) outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $250. and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Toms River Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $350. Ryan Burlew was processed and released after posting full bail on both warrants.
  • DUI Arrest – On Friday, October 7, 2016, at 9:53 p.m., Officers Julie Barcalow and Jason Lee responded to the area of Lacey Road and Route 9 in Forked River, for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. A description of the vehicle was provided and the vehicle was located near Lacey Road and Parker Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 70-year-old Richard W. Deakyne, of Maxim Drive in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Richard Deakyne was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to Observe Traffic Signal.  The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Theft (Residence) – On Friday, October 7, 2016, at 3:17 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to Dunberry Drive in Forked River, for a report of a theft. The victim reported jewelry stolen from an unsecured safe located in his house on September 3, 2016.  The items were described as a Ladies Diamond and Sapphire pendant and earrings, along with a gold bracelet with Sapphires, valued at $7000.00.  There were no signs of forced entry. The incident is under investigation.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, October 7, 2016, at 10:18 a.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to police headquarters in reference to serving an outstanding warrant. Upon arrival, 28-year-old Kenneth F. Ward, of Bowsprit Point in Lanoka Harbor, was arrested on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant with a bail amount of $300. Kenneth Ward was processed and released after posting full bail.
  • DUI and Drug Arrest- On Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 3:28 a.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to Frazee Place and Woodside Drive in Forked River for a report of a suspicious vehicle.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old William J. Greene-Vonglahn, from Parker Avenue in Forked River, for DUI and Possession of CDS.  He was transported to police headquarters and processed.  William J. Greene-Vonglahn was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of CDS (Heroin). In addition, he received traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and CDS in a motor vehicle. The vehicle William J. Greene-Vonglahn was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
