Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – February 10th, 2017 through February 16th, 2017

  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at 12:41 a.m., Officer Robert Duffy responded to police headquarters to serve an outstanding warrant issued by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office with no bail. 29-year-old Joseph M. Hover of Beach Boulevard in Forked River was processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail.
  •  Burglary/Theft (Auto) – On Monday, February 13, 2017, at 1:15 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Slota responded to police headquarters to take a report of theft. The victim reported that he ran out of gas on February 12, 2017, at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Lacey Road west of the Garden State Parkway. When he returned to his unlocked vehicle on February 13, 2017, at approximately 10:00 a.m., he found several items missing from his vehicle. The items were listed as Bose Headphones, two knit hats, prescription medications and a lottery ticket, for a total value of $80. There were no signs of forced entry.
  • Burglary (Auto) – On Monday, February 13, 2017, at 8:50 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 1600 block of Evans Road in Forked River, for a report of two motor vehicles being unlawfully entered. Investigation at the scene revealed between 8:00 p.m. on February 11, 2017, and 8:00 a.m. on February 13, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered both of her vehicles. Victim reported nothing substantial missing from the vehicles. The two vehicles were parked in the driveway and left unlocked.
  • Burglary/Theft/Criminal Mischief Arrest – On Sunday, February 12, 2017, at 8:00 a.m., Officer Charles May responded to the parking lot of Shop Rite, 348 Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a suspicious female who appeared to be burglarizing vehicles parked in the lot. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Crystal M. Algor, of Route 9 North, Forked River, for Theft of Property, Burglar’s Tools, Criminal Mischief, Burglary, and Criminal Attempt. She was transported to police headquarters, processed, served with a criminal warrant for the charges and transported to the Ocean County Jail.
  • CDS Arrest – On Sunday, February 12, 2017, at 11:20 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Haines Street and Maxim Drive, Lanoka Harbor. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 21-year-old Christopher R. Daddario of Polaris Court in Forked River, for possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released after being served with criminal summonses for Possession of Marijuana under 50 Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, as well as motor vehicle summonses for Failure to Maintain Lane and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
  • Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident – On Sunday, February 12, 2017, at 7:38 a.m., Officers Fred Anderson and Jeffrey Slota responded to Bobwhite Court, Forked River, for a report of a vehicle that struck a mailbox and fled the area. Investigation at the scene revealed that the mailbox was on the ground and appeared to have been sheared off at the post. Tire tracks were observed on the grass leading up to the mailbox and pieces of plastic from an automobile were recovered. The officers checked the area and found the vehicle in question parked around the block from the accident scene. The driver, 19-year-old Dalton Anderson, of Bob White Court, Forked River, was charged with Careless Driving, Failure to Report an Accident and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) On Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 11:39 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 1600 block of Joffre Road in Forked River, for a report of a theft.  The victim reported that between 7:30 p.m. on February 10, 2017 and 11:49 a.m., on February 11, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered her vehicle and stole loose change, music CDs and other miscellaneous items valued at $310.00.  The vehicle was parked in her driveway and unlocked.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) On Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 2:31 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 1600 block of Joffre Road in Forked River, for a report of a theft.  The victim reported that between 3:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on February 11, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered her vehicle and stole $6.00 worth of loose change. The vehicle was parked in her driveway and unlocked.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Friday, February 10, 2017, at 8:37 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to Wal-Mart, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old James W. Moormann, of Anchor Avenue, Beachwood, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $89.99. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Friday, February 10, 2017, at 6:05 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari responded to Walmart,  580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Juan A. Rubi, Jr., of Barnegat Boulevard, Barnegat, NJ for shoplifting merchandise valued at $59.96. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on a summons for Shoplifting.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, February 10, 2017, at 4:55 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer observed an intoxicated male walking on Nantucket Road towards Route 9 in Forked River. Investigation at the scene resulted in the arrest of 27-year-old Joseph J. Caputo, 4th of Barnacle Road, Forked River on an outstanding warrant out of Seaside Park in the amount of $350. He was processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail in default of bail.
  • Warrant Arrest– On Friday, February 10, 2017, at 11:14 a.m., Officer John Simonson responded to police headquarters to process an outstanding warrant for 24-year-old Ashley L. Jacob of North Main St. in Forked River. The warrant was out of Eatontown Municipal Court in the amount of $831.00 bail.  Ashley L. Jacob was processed and released after posting a bond for the amount due.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – February 1st, 2017 through February 9th, 2017

 

  • Burglary and Theft (Multiple Residences) – Beginning on Sunday, February 5, 2017, Lacey Police responded to a string of residential burglaries in the Bay Way neighborhood of Lanoka Harbor, including but not limited to the 700 block of Sinclair Avenue, the 400 block of Sinclair Avenue, the 300 block of Sinclair Avenue, the 400 block of Barramore Avenue, and Chestnut Drive. Lacey Police Detectives processed each scene and reviewed numerous video surveillance systems to identify a suspect thought to be connected with each burglary.  On Thursday, February 9, 2017, Lacey Police Detectives conducted surveillance at the home of the suspect, identified as 30 year-old Michael L. Dautorio of Drew Avenue in Lanoka Harbor.  During the surveillance, Michael Dautorio entered a vehicle and was followed from his residence to a Toms River neighborhood where he exited.  While Lacey Police Detectives continued surveillance, Michael Dautorio was observed running from a home wearing latex gloves and a ski mask.  Michael Dautorio was captured by Lacey Police Detectives Keith Pearce, Brian Flynn, and Kymberly Gudgeon prior to reentering the same vehicle.  During his detainment, Michael Dautorio was found in possession of a shoulder bag containing various tools, flashlights, and gloves.  Additionally, an amount of cash was recovered from him.  Detectives confirmed with a local homeowner that Michael Dautorio had entered her home and stole cash.  The Toms River Township Police Department responded and arrested Michael Dautorio.  He was charged with the Burglary and Theft in Toms River and ultimately lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility. He is being held on a no-bail warrant. Lacey Police Detectives obtained search warrants for Michael Dautorio’s Drew Avenue residence in Lanoka Harbor, along with his two vehicles.  During the search warrant execution, property linking Michael Dautorio to several of the Lanoka Harbor burglaries were recovered.  Additional property believed to be connected with other burglaries in Toms River and Lakewood Townships were recovered. Criminal charges are being prepared for six additional burglaries.  At the time of these incidents, Michael Dautorio was already out on bail for charges stemming from residential burglaries in Berkeley Township, NJ.  The investigation included assistance from the Toms River and Berkeley Township Police Detective Bureaus, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 12:30 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno was patrolling the parking lot of Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, when he observed the accused, identified as 44-year-old Lorraine Schuster, of Hazelton Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, exiting the store. Officer Sarno learned she had an outstanding Allentown Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $750 for her arrest. Officer Sarno arrested and transported Lorraine Schuster to police headquarters. She was processed and released.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at 9:00 p.m., Officers Jason Lee and Michael Baldasari responded to the 700 block of Stephanie Court in Forked River for an unrelated dispute. While at the residence it was discovered that the accused, 44-year-old Anthony Contey of Stephanie Court in Forked River, had an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1866. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters. Anthony Contey was processed and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
  • Warrant Arrest (Multiple) – On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at 7:50 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Kearney Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a passenger, identified as 20-year-old Louis V. Dautorio 4th, of Center Street in Forked River, on three outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $250 and warrant number two (2) was also issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court for another $250. Warrant number three (3) was issued by the Bedminster Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Louis V. Dautorio 4th was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was ultimately lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in Default of bail.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 5:19 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Clearwater Drive and Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene revealed that the driver, identified as 22-year-old Tyshon L. Jackson, of Alden Drive in Toms River, NJ, had a suspended driver’s license and two outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued from the Jackson Township Municipal Court in the amount of $150 bail and warrant number two (2) was issued from the Lavallette Municipal Court in the amount of $191 bail.  Tyshon L. Jackson was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released after posting bail.  In addition, Tyshon L. Jackson received traffic summonses for Speeding, Expired Registration and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.
  • DUI with Motor Vehicle Crash (Arrest) – On Monday, February 6, 2017, at 8:57 p.m., Officers Martin Julian, Andrew Slota and Patrick Watkins responded to the area of Argos Farm, located at 1250 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 30-year-old Michael Dautorio of Drew Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for DUI.  Michael Dautorio was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, Failure to Exhibit Valid Registration, Failure to Exhibit Valid Insurance, and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Sunday, February 5, 2017, at 5:32 p.m., Officers Jesse Dalziel and Evan Androcy responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 31-year-old Crystal M. Algor of Saratoga Lake Drive in Little Egg Harbor, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $41.42. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Crystal M. Algor was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Drug and Underage Consumption of Alcohol Arrests – On Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11:36 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Lacey Road and Manchester Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the three passengers in the vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Arlington A. Spencer of Center Street, in Lakewood, NJ, for Possession of CDS, 20-year-old Tyesha S. Conover-Hart of Main Street in Toms River, NJ, for Underage Consumption of Alcohol, and 20-year-old Tori M. Britton of Woodlake Manor in Lakewood, NJ, for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. They were transported to police headquarters and processed.  Arlington A. Spencer was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of 50 Grams or Less of Marijuana.  Tyesha S. Conover-Hart was released after receiving a criminal summons for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. In addition, Tyesha received a traffic summons for Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. Tori M. Britton was released after receiving a criminal summons for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. In addition, she received a traffic summons for Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.  The driver, identified as 20-year-old Shawna M. Cephas of Center Street in Lakewood, NJ received traffic summonses for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Improper Right turn on Red.
  • Shoplifting and Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11:55 a.m., Officer Charles May responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 25-year-old Brandon T. Weaver of Enterprise Drive in Forked River, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $31.16. In addition, further investigation revealed that he had an outstanding warrant issued from the Manchester Township Municipal Court in the amount of $250. Brandon T. Weaver was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was charged on a criminal warrant for Shoplifting and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing.
  • DUI Arrest – On Friday, February 3, 2017, at 11:18 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a traffic stop on Baldwin Street and Deerhead Lake Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 54-year-old Joseph D. Appello, Jr., of Crestwood Drive in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Joseph D. Appello, Jr., was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Tests, Reckless Driving, Improper Use of High and Low Headlight Beams, Speeding and Unsafe Lane Change. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Drug Arrest – On Friday, February 3, 2017, at 9:46 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel  conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Lacey Road and Caldwell Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified  as 29-year-old Nichole M. Nacca, of Brentwood Place in Forked River, for Possession of CDS. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Nichole M. Nacca was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition, she received traffic summonses for Speeding and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
  • Burglary Arrest (Auto) – On Friday, February 3, 2017, at 12:22 a.m., Officers Michael Baldasari and Anthony Sarno responded to the residence of a 15-year-old male juvenile from Forked River, whose guardian reported that he was coming home with property not belonging to him. Investigation at the scene revealed that the juvenile male had burglarized several vehicles in the neighborhood in the past week.  The juvenile male was arrested and  transported to police headquarters. He was processed and charged on Juvenile Complaints with Burglary and Theft. He was released to his guardian pending an appearance.
  • Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 5:19 p.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Laurel Boulevard and Route 9 North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the 17-year-old male driver from Forked River, for possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. The driver was released after being charged on Juvenile complaints with Possession of Marijuana More than 50 Grams and Distribution of Marijuana. In addition he received traffic summonses for Speeding, Window Tint and CDS in a Motor Vehicle. He was released to the custody of his mother.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – January 25th, 2017 through January 31st, 2017

  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:32 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to police headquarters to take a theft report. The victim reported that on January 31, 2017, at approximately 1:30 a.m., his unlocked vehicle, that was parked in the driveway of his residence on Parkside Drive in Forked River, was entered.  Approximately $13.00 in change was stolen from inside.
  • DUI Arrest- On Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10:27 p.m., Officer Christopher Meyler conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 9 North and Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 44-year-old Russell J. Kalman of Nostrand Drive in Toms River, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed.  Russell J. Kalman was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Speeding.  The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 1:30 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to police headquarters to take a theft report.  The victim reported that between 10:00 a.m. on January 29, 2017 and 8:00 p.m. on January 30, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway of his residence on Ariel Drive in Forked River, and stole his Dell Laptop computer valued at $400.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 4:50 a.m., Officer Christopher Meyler responded to police headquarters for a theft report. The victim reported that during the overnight hours of January 30, 2017 into January 31, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway of his residence on Brookdale Park Drive in Forked River and stole property. The property consisted of a wallet, cash, and cigarettes with a total estimated value of $225.00.
  • Warrant Arrest (Multiple) – On Tuesday, January 31, 2017,at 12:30 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Lane Place in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 23-year-old James Boone of Maple Street in Waretown, NJ, on three (3) outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1500 and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Berkeley Township Municipal Court in the amount of $199. Warrant number three (3) was issued by the Ocean Township Municipal Court in the amount of $120.  James Boone was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was later lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.  In addition, James Boone received traffic summonses for Driving with a Suspended License and Failure to Observe a Traffic Signal.
  • DUI Arrest – On Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 12:39 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 South near Station Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 31-year-old Kathryn A. Kroeger of Buttonwood Drive in Paramus, NJ, for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kathryn A. Kroeger was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lane. The vehicle she was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Friday, January 27, 2017, at 9:45 a.m., Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the 400 block of Drew Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for a theft report. The victim reported that between 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017, and 7:45 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole his wallet. The value of the wallet and its contents is estimated at $280.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Thursday, January 26, 2017, at 6:07 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the 800 block of Margaret Place in Lanoka Harbor, for a theft report. The victim reported that between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered her vehicle and stole prescription medication valued at $50.  The victim was unsure if her vehicle was locked during the time of theft. There were no signs of forced entry.
  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Thursday, January 26, 2017, at 3:39 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to the 1700 block of Binnacle Road in Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. The complainant reported that between 8:00 p.m. on January 25, 2017 and 6:15 a.m. on January 26, 2017, an unknown person or persons smashed the driver’s side mirror of their vehicle and dented it. The damage to the vehicle is estimated at $500.
  • DUI with Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Crash (Arrest) – On Thursday, January 26, 2017, at 12:48 a.m., Acting-Sergeant Dimitri Tsarnas and Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the 100 block of Brick Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash involving a mailbox. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 38-year-old Ivan B. Garrison of Quail Lane North in Lanoka Harbor, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Ivan B. Garrison was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash, Failure to Report a Motor Vehicle Crash, Driving with a Suspended License, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to Install an Interlock Device.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – January 18th, 2017 through January 24th, 2017

 

  • DUI Arrest – On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 11:57 p.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Michael Baldasari responded to the 800 block of East Hickory Drive in Lanoka Harbor, for a disturbance. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 50-year-old Laura Dunn of Jay Street in Forked River for DUI. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Laura Dunn was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI and Reckless Driving.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 11:15 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 South and Taylor Lane in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 27-year-old Kathryn Lundy of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, on an outstanding Point Pleasant Beach Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $250. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Kathryn Lundy was released after posting bail.
  • False Public Alarm – On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, 4:54 p.m., the Lacey Township Police Department received a phone call from the property manager of the Lacey Mall, located at 348 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. The manager reported that his office received a phone call reporting that there was a man with a bomb vest at the Lacey Mall.  The property manager further added the caller sounded young and was trying to disguise his voice.  The property manager supplied the phone number that the call originated from off his caller identification. The phone number was traced to a Stafford Township residence and contact was immediately made with a 10-year-old male and his father.  Further investigation by Lacey Township Police Detectives and Stafford Township Police quickly revealed that the juvenile made the call as a prank. Officers were dispatched to the Mall as a precaution to assure that the incident was a hoax. The incident is under investigation.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 9:51 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the 1000 block of Sarasota Drive residence in Forked River, for a theft report.  The victim reported that between 6:00 p.m. on January 22, 2017, and 6:00 a.m. on January 24, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered his pickup truck and stole his leather brief case, cell phone charger and “Skull Candy” headphones valued at $125. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of the residence at the time of the theft and there were no signs of forced entry.
  • Shoplifting Arrests – On Sunday, January 22, 2017, at 5:48 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of two adult shoplifters.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Crystal L. Vancora and 35-year-old Jed T. Vancora, of JFK Boulevard in Pine Beach, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $461.82. They were transported to police headquarters and processed. They were both released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
  • Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Sunday, January 22, 2017, at 8:28 a.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the 1400 block of Clearview Street in Forked River, for criminal mischief. The complainant reported that during the overnight hours of January 21, 2017 into January 22, 2017, an unknown person or persons damaged the mailbox by knocking it off its post. The damage to the mailbox is estimated at $20.
  • Drug Arrest – On Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 7:11 p.m., Officer Martin Julian conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the  driver, a 17-year-old male from Hamilton, NJ, and two passengers, a 17-year-old male from Hamilton, NJ, and a 15-year-old female from Hamilton, NJ. All three were arrested for Possession of CDS. They were transported to police headquarters and processed. All three were charged on a juvenile complaint with Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition, the driver received a traffic summons for speeding, along with an additional charge of Possessing Alcohol Under the Legal Age.  All three juveniles were released to their respective parents.
  • Drug Arrest – On Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 12:57 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 9 South and Mill Street in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 21-year-old Patrick K. Boyle of Bay Shore Drive in Barnegat, NJ, for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Patrick K. Boyle was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Failure to Maintain Lane and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
  • Structure Fire – On Friday, January 20, 2017, at 7:35 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota responded to the 600 block of Williams Avenue in Forked River, for a report of a structure fire. Investigation at the scene revealed that the detached garage in the rear of the property was fully engulfed in flames and unoccupied. The Forked River and Lanoka Harbor Fire Departments responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze. There were no injuries reported.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, January 20, 2017, at 3:21 p.m., Officer George Resetar conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts, located at 218 Route 9 North in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 33-year-old Paul E. Shook, 3rd, of Highland Drive in Barnegat, NJ, for an outstanding Little Egg Harbor Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $500.  Paul E. Shook, 3rd, was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released after posting bail.
  • Motor Vehicle Crash with Drug Arrest – On Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 9:19 p.m., Officers Patrick Watkins and Jesse Dalziel responded to the area of Clairmore Avenue and Leslie Street in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a single vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Christopher M. Schultz, of Van Syckles Road in Clinton, NJ, for Possession of CDS.  He was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was charged on a complaint warrant with Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. Christopher M. Schultz was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Careless Driving and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
  • Drug Arrest – On Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 6:03 p.m., Officer Elton Copes conducted a traffic stop on Legeune Avenue near Lakeside Drive South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the passenger, a 15-year-old juvenile male from Forked River, for the Possession of CDS. The juvenile was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was charged on a juvenile complaint with Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and released to his parents. The driver of the vehicle was issued a motor vehicle summons for a stop sign violation.

  • DUI Arrest – On Tuesday, January 17, 2017, Officers Julie Barcalow and Jason Lee responded to JR’s Liquors, located at 1000 Lacey Road in Forked River for an unrelated alarm. While at the scene, a seperate DUI investigation began. The investigation led to the arrest of 45-year-old James Frey of Green View Way in Toms River, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. James Frey was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and Consuming Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law
  • Warrant Arrest – On Monday, January 16, 2017, at 11:05 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Caffrey’s, located at 440 Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 27-year-old Keith W. Hestermann, Jr., of North Penn Avenue in Forked River, on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $750. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Keith Hestermann, Jr., was unable to post bail and was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
  • Drug Arrest – On Monday, January 16, 2017, at 12:02 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Applebees, located at 404 Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 25-year-old Joseph R. Greco of Bittern Lane in Bayville, NJ, for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Joseph Greco was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition he received traffic summonses for Speeding and CDS in a Motor Vehicle.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, January 15, 2017, at 7:54 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to Second Street in Forked River to serve two outstanding warrants. Upon arrival, officers arrested 25-year-old Jerry L. Anderson, 3rd, of Lexington Boulevard in Barnegat, NJ on the two outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Berkeley Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $1,500 and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Ocean Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $120. Jerry Anderson was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was unable to post bail and was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Sunday, January 15, 2017, at 12:25 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Middle Branch and Bahama Drives in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 30-year-old Stephen P. Pajewski of Route 37 West in Toms River, NJ, on two outstanding warrants. Warrant number one (1) was issued by the Manchester Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $500 and warrant number two (2) was issued by the Robbinsville Township Municipal Court in the bail amount of $1,500.   Stephen Pajewski was transported to police headquarters and processed. He posted bail on the Manchester Township Municipal Court warrant.  Robbinsville Township was contacted regarding their warrant and they released him on his own recognizance pending a future court date. In addition, Stephen Pajewski received a motor vehicle summons for Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License before being released from custody.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 10:21 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Beverly Road and Joffre Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the front seat passenger, identified as 46-year-old Steven J. Bassford, of Lancaster Court in Forked River, on an outstanding Ocean County Sheriff’s Department warrant in the bail amount of $22,073.87. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Stephen Bassford was unable to post bail and was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
  • Drug Arrest On Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 9:25 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a male slumped over the steering wheel in his vehicle.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 24-year-old Robert M. Donahue of Crestwood Drive in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Robert Donahue was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Exhibit Registration and Failure to Exhibit Proof of Insurance. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Drug Arrest – On Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 2:49 p.m., Special Officer Adam Bylsma conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 9 South and Station Drive in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 21-year-old Brianna L. Vega of Oregon Avenue in Waretown, NJ, for Possession of CDS. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Brianna Vega was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. In addition, she received traffic summonses for CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Cell Phone Use.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, January 13, 2017, at 8:48 p.m., Officers Martin Julian and Jesse Dalziel responded to Constitution Drive in Forked River, to serve an outstanding warrant. Upon arrival officers arrested 24-year-old Shawn P. Kelly of Constitution Drive in Forked River, on an outstanding Hammonton Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $1500. Shawn Kelly was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was turned over to the custody the Hammonton Township Police Department.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Friday, January 13, 2017, at 6:37 p.m., Officers Patrick Watkins and Andrew Slota responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a female shoplifter.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Taquanah I. Boone of Maple Street in Waretown, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $34.96. In addition, she initially provided a false name. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Taquanah Boone was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting and for Hindering her own Apprehension by providing the false name.
