Social Media Presentation: On Wednesday, May 11th, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. sharp to 7:30 p.m., Chief David A. Paprota, Ed.D., will be conducting a one-hour presentation for parents on the Internet, cell phone applications and social media. The presentation will include real-life examples of what the youth of today are facing. This presentation is being offered to parents of Mill Pond School students. Each student was provided the attached flier on Tuesday to bring home to parents, but understandably, most of the fliers did not make it home. Parents are encouraged to attend and learn the current threats and concerns that the Internet, cell phone applications, and social media pose to the youth today.
This presentation is being sponsored by the Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention with coordination efforts by Megan Tucker who will be providing refreshments as well. A courtesy RSVP has been requested to help account for seating, materials, and refreshments. Please RSVP Megan Tucker (MTucker@LaceySchools.org).
Parents who attend will receive an Internet and Social Media Awareness brochure which was authored by Chief Paprota as well as a Parents’ Guide to Social Media booklet as sponsored by the Lacey Municipal Police Foundation.
