On Thursday, October 27, 2022, at approximately 2:59 p.m., officers from the Lacey Township Police Department responded to the intersection of Lacey Road and Newark Avenue, for a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles, one of which was overturned.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Sarah Brennan (Age 20), of Ocean Township, was traveling eastbound on Lacey Road, in her 2007 Toyota Yaris, at which time Eric Seagle Jr. (Age 20), of Toms River, who was operating his 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, attempted to make a left hand turn from the westbound Lane of Lacey Road, onto Newark Avenue, which caused a collision with Sarah’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage as a result of the collision and were towed from the scene. Eric was entrapped in his vehicle as a result of the collision.
The Forked River Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated Eric from his vehicle. Lacey Township EMS responded to the scene and treated Sarah and Eric for minor injuries. Eric was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment. Sarah was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment.
