Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event – Today, May 22, 2019
Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event – The Lacey Township Police Department is hosting a courtesy (non-enforcement) Child Seat Safety Check at the Lanoka Harbor Fire House on Route 9 and Warren Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, this afternoon, May 22, 2019. The event will be held rain or shine from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Specially trained certified child seat technicians from the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department will be on site to conduct a courtesy child seat inspection of installed seats and to assist participants in the proper installation of child seats. The officers of the Lacey Township Police Department are dedicated to child safety. Over 80% of child safety seats currently installed in vehicles are either the wrong seats for the child being transported or are incorrectly installed. Technicians will assist not only in the inspection of the seats, but will also educate caregivers on the proper seat selection and installation. The event is being hosted by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Inspections are expected to take approximately 20 minutes per vehicle. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Seat Belt Enforcement and Education Campaign, Click it or Ticket, May 20th to June 2, 2019
Seat Belt Enforcement and Education Campaign Currently Being Conducted in Lacey Township as Part of the Nationwide Click It or Ticket Mobilization (May 20 – June 2, 2019) Lacey Township Police Officers have joined with law enforcement officers from around the country in cracking down on unbuckled motorists and passengers as part of the national “Click it or Ticket” campaign. Beginning today Monday, May 20th, 2019 and continuing through June 2nd, 2019, the annual “Click It or Ticket” national mobilization campaign will utilize high visibility seat belt checkpoints and saturation patrols, in combination with local and national publicity efforts, to reiterate the life-saving value of seat belts. Specifically dedicated grant funding allows for these additional enforcement patrols in Lacey Township. Both marked and Stealth-type police vehicles will be utilized to conduct these patrols in Lacey Township. “Using a seat belt is the simplest way for a driver and his or her passengers to protect themselves when traveling,” said Gary Poedubicky, Acting Director of the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety. Shoplifting Arrest – On Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 7:14 p.m., Officers Jesse Dalziel and Robert Duffy responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 30-year-old Tara N. Bowker of South Street, Lanoka Harbor, for shoplifting. Tara attempted to conceal $49.24 in merchandise, but was apprehended by store personnel. Tara was processed and released on a complaint summons for Shoplifting. Theft — On Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 12:37 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Lacey Used Auto, 602 Route 9 North for a report of a theft. The owner stated that an unknown person(s) removed numerous catalytic converters from vehicles in the yard. The theft remains under investigation. Warrant Arrest — On Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 11:22 a.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella responded to Lacey Used Auto, 602 Route 9 North to assist the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department in a civil dispute. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 57-year-old, Michael J. Boccia of Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court Warrant in the amount of $600. M. Drug and Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 11:41 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 near the intersection of Jones Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 19-year-old Deja Rojas of Lee Way in Forked River for possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, a 17-year-old female passenger from Forked River was arrested for possession of CDS. An additional passenger, identified as 18-year-old Sydney Littleford of Predmore Avenue in Lanoka harbor was arrested on an outstanding Tuckerton Borough Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $500. All three were transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Deja Rojas was released after receiving a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, she was issued traffic summonses for Careless Driving and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. The female juvenile was released to her parent after being charged on a Juvenile Complaint with Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less. DUI Arrest – On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at 7:18 p.m., Officer Martin Julian conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near the 7-Eleven store in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 45-year-old Keith T. Kientopp of Yorktown Drive in Forked River, for DUI. He was transported to Police Headquarters and processed. Keith Kientopp was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Possessing an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Theft (Residence) – On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at 4:51 p.m., Officer Elton Copes responded to the 1000 block of Clubhouse Drive in Forked River, for a theft report. The complainant reported that on April 25, 2017, a delivery company delivered her package, containing prescription medication, to a neighboring residence by mistake. When the delivery company realized they delivered the package to the wrong residence, they contacted the homeowners who denied having it. The package of medication has not been located and the incident remains under investigation. The exact value of the stolen medication is unknown at this time. Theft of Bicycle – On [...]

Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 8:34 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Wawa, located at 701 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an intoxicated male inside the store. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 52-year-old John M. Clancy of Hemlock Drive in Lanoka Harbor, on an outstanding Atlantic City Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $100. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. John Clancy was released after posting bail. Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 8:12 p.m., Officer Patrick Watkins responded to the 1000 block of Orlando Drive in Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 5:30 a.m. on April 24, 2017 and the evening of April 26, 2017, an unknown person or persons cut several window screens on his residence. The residence does not appear to have been entered. The damage to the screens is estimated at $100.
