Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 25, 2021 through December 2, 2021
Motor Vehicle Stop/Warrant Arrest: On Friday, November 26, 2021, at 10:45 pm, Officer Dylan Emmett conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Route 9 and Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor, for no head lights on. The driver, Jacquelyn Smith, age 30, was found to have an outstanding no-bail warrant from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. As a result of the warrant she was arrested and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility without incident. Motor Vehicle Stop/Warrant Arrest: On Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 1:51 pm, Officer Michael Hyle conducted a motor vehicle stop on Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor. The driver, William Frank, age 77, was found to have a suspended driver’s license and an outstanding Berkeley Township Municipal Court warrant. W. Frank was transported to headquarters where he posted his bail in full. He was issued a motor vehicle summons and released. Criminal Mischief: On Sunday, November 28, 2021, at 5:46 pm, Officer Michael Hyle responded to Gille Park for a report of criminal mischief to the bathrooms. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 18 through November 25, 2021
Theft- On Friday, November 19, 2021, at 12:36 a.m., Officer Scott Keefe was dispatched to Wawa, 800 Lacey Road in reference to a theft. The victim reported that she exited the store and accidently left her purse behind. As she returned to retrieve the purse, it was missing. The purse was later located in the lot with contents removed. The incident remains under investigation. Arrest- On Friday, November 19, 2021, at 1:04 p.m., Officer Nyeem Calhoun arrested a Forked River resident on the strength of an outstanding warrant. Craig Roberson was arrested in connection with $500 cash bail set by the Haddon Township Municipal Court. He was released after the bail was satisfied. Summons- On Friday, November 19, 2021, at 11:37 p.m., Officer Dallas Gant issued a Special Complaint Summons to an adult female at the Deerhead Lake parking lot. Lauren Hartman, 30, was charged with Possessing/Inhaling a Toxic Chemical and released from custody. Hartman was charged with the same offense on November 20 by Officer Hyle while in the parking lot of Walmart. Weekly Blotter September 15 – September 22, 2022
Theft – In early September 2022, Officer Walsh took a report from a Sunset Drive resident who wished to report a theft. The victim advised Officer Walsh that on August 25, 2022, campaign signs of theirs had been stolen from the area of Newark Avenue and Calvin Street, as well as near the Heritage Apartment complex. The signs were valued at less than $50.00 total. Shoplifting – On Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 2:04 p.m., Officers Schaffer and Abrecht responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting. The store employee advised officers that they had observed a female fail to ring up a number of items while at the self-checkout, then attempt to leave the store without paying for them. The stolen items were valued at $44.33. Officers met with the suspect, Dawn Murphy, 52, of Bayville, and placed her under arrest. Dana was transported to police headquarters, charged with Shoplifting, and released on a summons pending a future court appearance. Shoplifting – On Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 12:13 p.m., Officers Tamburro and Carver responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9, for a reported shoplifting. The store employee advised officers that they had observed a female fail to ring up a number of items while at the self-checkout, then attempt to leave the store without paying for them. The stolen items were valued at $38.94. Officers met with the suspect, Dana Pearse, 35, of Barnegat, and placed her under arrest. Dana was transported to police headquarters, charged with Shoplifting, and released on a summons pending a future court appearance. Criminal Mischief – On Monday, September 12, 2022, at 7:45 a.m., Officers Tamburro and Carver responded to a business on South Main Street for a report of criminal mischief. Upon their arrival, an employee advised that someone had damaged the business’ fence sometime within the past week. The value of the damage was estimated at $3,750.00. Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 5:11 p.m., Officer Hutman and Special Officer Lepeshko responded to Wawa, Route 9 South, for a report of a female harassing customers for money. Motor Vehicle Stop/Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 2, 2022, at 9:48 p.m., Officer Hyle conducted a motor vehicle stop near Route 9 and Haines Street for suspended driver. Officer Hyle met with the driver, Virgil Dowtin, 36, of Jackson Township, and confirmed that his driver’s license was suspended. Virgil was also found to have an outstanding warrant originating out of the Howell Township Municipal Court. Virgil was arrested and transported to police headquarters, and later released on his own recognizance after being served with a summons for driving while suspended. Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 2, 2022, at 11:53 p.m., Officers responded to the Lacey Inn to serve an arrest warrant on a guest that was staying at the motel. Upon their arrival, officers made contact with Stanley O’Donnell, 53, of Bayville. Stanley was found to have an outstanding warrant originating out of the Berkeley Township Municipal Court. Stanley was arrested and transported to police headquarters, and later turned over to the Berkeley Township Police Department, without incident.
