Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Officers Presented with “Thank You” Cards from Land of Oz Learning Center – June 25, 2020
The above photo depicts Lacey Police Officers Michael Hutman and Matthew D'Antonio while visiting Land of Oz Learning Center in Forked River on June 25, 2020. “Our gratitude continues: Thank you Land of Oz Learning Center. Yesterday, Patrolmen Michael Hutman and Matthew D’Antonio were invited to the Land of Oz Learning Center, where they were met with a warm welcome from children and staff, who presented, “Thank you,” cards to our officers. Each card was handmade by the children at Land of Oz, and included “Thank you” messages, pictures, and stickers. The many thoughtful cards were read and enjoyed by our staff and officers, including the Chief of Police. In addition to this thoughtful show of support, our officers and staff were with later provided with pizza and sandwiches, which had been purchased by a generous Land of Oz Parent. Each day, our officers are constantly reminded of how fortunate we are to serve this community. It is often that our officers talk about the many hand-waves, “Thumbs up,” and kind words of support, in which they receive throughout their shifts from our residents. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Special Officer Timothy Swain Graduates Ocean County Police Academy – June 26, 2020
The above photo depicts Special Officer Timothy Swain (right) as he graduates as a Class 2 Police Officer from the Ocean County Police Academy, Special Law Enforcement Officer Class #46. The graduation was held earlier today in Jackson, NJ. On September 14, 2017, Timothy Swain was hired by the Lacey Township Police Department as a Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer. Prior, he graduated from the Academy of Law and Public Safety (Lacey Township School District) and also served as a Police Explorer/Police Cadet with the Ocean County Chiefs of Police Law Enforcement Explorer/Cadet Post #1. Special Officer Swain also obtained his Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. In August 2017, he joined the United States Air Force where he currently holds the rank of E-4. In September 2019, Special Officer Swain began the second phase of his Law Enforcement Officer career, beginning the Ocean County Police Academy, Special Law Enforcement Officer Class #46. I am proud to say after 10 long months of training, Special Officer Swain graduated today as a Class 2 Police Officer for the Lacey Township Police Department. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Gille Park Peaceful Walking Event – Wednesday, June 10, 2020
The Lacey Township Police Department is aware of the upcoming peaceful walk/march scheduled for this Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in Gille Park. Members of the Lacey Township Police Department and the Township of Lacey have spoken directly to the organizer to ensure a peaceful walk/march. We appreciate everyone that contacted us, and all of your concerns. Our number one priority is to maintain the safety of our community while allowing a peaceful demonstration. As a police department, we fully support the first amendment rights of everyone, and we are taking every precautionary measure to ensure this is a peaceful event. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – June 14th through June 20th, 2019
Stolen Property- At 4:35 pm, Friday, June 14, 2019, Officer Dan Ricciardella responded to a local marina for the report of a theft. The owner of a dry docked boat reported that several GPS units had been stolen from the boat in the past two days. The owner estimated the value of the units at $2,200. Found CDS- At 9:40 pm, Friday, June 14, 2019, Officer Michael Baldasari responded to an Enterprise Drive, Forked River residence. The caller reported finding a plastic bag on her property containing narcotics. Officer Baldasari discovered that the bag contained 150 smaller bags of suspected heroin. An investigation into the owner of the drugs is being conducted. CDS Arrest- At 1:30 am, Saturday, June 15, 2019, Officers Michael Baldasari and Anthony Sarno responded to Laurel Plaza, 629 Route 9, Lanoka Harbor for a possible burglary. Once there, officers discovered a Beach Boulevard man, Corey Heulitt, 30, on the premises. Heulitt was legally on the property but was discovered to be in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia. Heulitt was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. Heulitt was released in accordance with bail [...]
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – June 7th through June 13th, 2019
Warrant Arrest- At 7:45 pm, Friday, June 7, 2019, Officers Scott Keefe and Anthony Sarno responded to a Nantucket Road, Forked River home in reference to a dispute. Officers located James Wareham on the porch of the home and it was determined that he was wanted for several outstanding warrants. Wareham, 34, was placed under arrest for the warrants, both originating from Trenton, and transported to headquarters. Drug Arrest- At 9:45 am, Saturday, June 8, 2019, Officers Simonson and Triano conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 at Second Street. During the stop, officers discovered a hypodermic syringe and placed the driver under arrest. Richard Ferruccio, 25, of Ventnor, NJ, was later released on his own recognizance after being charged with Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. Attempted Burglary- On the morning of Saturday, June 8, 2019, Officer Simonson responded to a Jones Road, Forked River residence in reference to an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported that unknown suspect(s) attempted to force entry into the rear door of his home. A window screen was also damaged. It did not appear the entry was made into the home. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – May 31st through June 6th, 2019
Criminal Mischief – On Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 1:13 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the area of Good Luck Road, Forked River, for a report of criminal mischief to a home on the block. The damage to the residence was in excess of $500. Illegal Dumping – On Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 10:07 a.m., Officer Randolph Plis responded to the area of Brown Street in Forked River, for a report of Illegal Dumping. The caller reported that a white van dumped wood, tarps and bags of trash in the wooded area off of Brown Street. The Lacey Township Department of Public Works was notified to remove the garbage. This incident remains under investigation. Pole Fire – On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at 2:25 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the area of the 500 block of Adolphus Street, Forked River for a telephone pole transformer fire. The Forked River Fire Company along with JCP&L was contacted to handle the issue. Shoplifting – On Sunday, June 2, 2019, 2019, at 1:02 p.m., Officer John Simonson responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North, Lanoka Harbor, for a report of a shoplifting offense that occurred earlier that [...]
