Please be advised Lacey Road is closed in both directions between Eagleswood Place and Deerhead Lake Drive due to wires down across the road. Until further notice please avoid the area. Also, please use caution as several traffic signals are out throughout Lacey Township due to the storm. Thank you.

Township News – Lacey Police/Lacey OEM – Tropical Storm Isaias – August 3rd, 2020
Weather Alert: The Lacey Township Police Department, in coordination with the Lacey Township Office of Emergency Management is continuing to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Isaias and the expected impact to our area. The National Weather Service has issued a tropical storm warning for our area this evening, August 3, 2020 through tomorrow evening, August 4th, 2020. Heavy rain and tropical storm force winds of 40 to 50 mph are expected, with wind gusts up to 60 mph, beginning tomorrow morning and ending during the afternoon or early evening. These winds are expected mainly along the coastal areas. Widespread moderate flooding is possible. Areas of concern are the low-lying areas east of Route 9 in Lacey Township. All residents living in the low-lying affected areas may voluntarily park their vehicles in Gille Park, 102 Manchester Avenue in Forked River. All residents that wish to park their vehicles in Gille Park should park in the parking lot on the southernmost side, adjacent to the hockey rink. Residents are asked to check on their neighbors who may be vulnerable and advise the police department if any concerns arise. Thank you. -Chief Michael C. DiBella
Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – August 23rd through August 29th, 2019
Theft– On Friday, August 23, 2019, at 1:58 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to 603 Clairmore Avenue, Lanoka Harbor for a theft report. The complainant reported that during overnight hours someone attempted to enter his vehicle. He reported that he then went back into his residence and observed a Canon camera, several lenses and other equipment to be missing from his bedroom. Officers returned to the residence on Sunday, August 25th after the proceeds were discovered at a second-hand store in Pleasantville, NJ. The roommate of the victim, Craig Powers, 34, was arrested for the theft and several outstanding warrants from various jurisdictions. Powers was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility without bail. Warrant Arrest- On Friday, August 23, 2019 at 4:46 p.m., Officers Brian Holt and Andrew Slota served an arrest warrant for Stafford Township. William Conroy, 52, was arrested and turned over to Stafford Police without incident. DWI- On Sunday, August 25, 2019, at 12:45 a.m., Officer Jason Lee conducted a motor vehicle stop for speeding on Route 9 near Station Drive. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – August 15th through August 22nd, 2019
Shoplifting- On Thursday, August 15, 2019, at 4:20 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey arrested Christopher Jones, 31. The arrest came after Jones attempted to steal merchandise from Walmart valued at $171. Jones was processed and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility. Theft — On Friday, August 16, 2019, at 1:53 p.m., Officer McKee responded to 302 Route 9 South for theft of a wallet. Upon arrival, the victim reported while doing her laundry at the laundromat an unidentified woman was also present and must have removed her wallet from her purse when she was distracted. Reported missing was the wallet, $21.00, and credit cards. Vehicle Burglary- On Saturday, August 17, 2019, at 8:00 a.m., a Maple Road, Lanoka Harbor resident reported that her vehicle was burglarized during overnight hours. The suspect reportedly stole personal items and $265 cash. DWI- On Saturday, August 17, 2019, at 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Constitution Drive for an aggressive drive. The vehicle was subsequently located at McDonalds and the driver was determined to be under the influence. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – August 9th through August 15th , 2019
DWI- On Friday, August 9, 2019, at 12:55 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop of two vehicles that appeared to be speeding together on Lacey Road. During the stop, one of the drivers, Cassandra Joiner, 25, of Plainsboro, New Jersey, was determined to be intoxicated. Joiner was arrested and charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. Arrest— On Friday August 9, 2019, at 12:18 p.m., officers responded McDonalds for a report of a male creating a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were directed to 34 year-old Thomas Daly outside the establishment. Daly was placed under arrest after an inquiry revealed an outstanding warrant. Daly posted bail and was released on the warrant that was issued by the Jersey City Municipal Court. Theft — On Friday August 9, 2019, at 12:33 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the Forked River State Marina for the theft of a Zodiac. The victim reported that the Zodiac was stolen from the rear of his boat during an unknown time frame. The New Jersey State Police Marine Bureau was notified.
