DWI- On Friday, August 9, 2019, at 12:55 a.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a motor vehicle stop of two vehicles that appeared to be speeding together on Lacey Road.  During the stop, one of the drivers, Cassandra Joiner, 25, of Plainsboro, New Jersey, was determined to be intoxicated.  Joiner was arrested and charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding.

Arrest— On Friday August 9, 2019, at 12:18 p.m., officers responded McDonalds for a report of a male creating a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were directed to 34 year-old Thomas Daly outside the establishment. Daly was placed under arrest after an inquiry revealed an outstanding warrant.  Daly posted bail and was released on the warrant that was issued by the Jersey City Municipal Court.

Theft — On Friday August 9, 2019, at 12:33 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to the Forked River State Marina for the theft of a Zodiac. The victim reported that the Zodiac was stolen from the rear of his boat during an unknown time frame.  The New Jersey State Police Marine Bureau was notified.

Trespassing — On Sunday August 11, 2019, at 1:31 p.m., officers responded to the area of 834 Baldwin Street for a report of a suspicious male in the yard at that address. Officer Ricciardella was able to locate Shaddiy Whittaker who had previously been warned that he was not welcome at the residence. Whittaker was issued a summons for Defiant Trespassing.

MVA / Arrest On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at 8:48 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to Wawa, 800 Lacey Road, for a report of a motor vehicle crash and the driver fleeing the scene on foot.  Upon arrival, it was discovered that a U-Haul rental truck had struck and damaged a bollard on the north side of the store, causing airbag deployment.  A check of the area, produced the driver, 37-year-old Anthony Caruso, who was walking on Calvin Street.  During the investigation, Officer Dalziel discovered an active warrant for Caruso issued by the Lacey Municipal Court.  Caruso was arrested and released after posting cash bail.  He was issued motor vehicle summonses for Expired License, Careless Driving, Failure to Report an Accident and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

Arrest- On Tuesday, August 13, at 3:00 p.m., Officer Alan Abrecht and Scott Anderson responded to Bud Mezera Park for the report of an adult male stumbling as he walked.  Upon arrival, officers identified the subject as Brandon Weaver, 29, of Lanoka Harbor.  During the inquiry, it was discovered that the Manchester Municipal Court had issued a $1,500 warrant for Weaver.  Weaver was arrested and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility.

Arrest- On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 8:36 a.m., members of the detective bureau arrested Rafael Pomponio, 36, of Forked River.  Pomponio was arrested after he failed to appear at the Toms River Municipal Court and a warrant was issued.  Pomponio was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of $350 bail.

Burglary- On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 8:48 a.m., Officers Michael Verwey and Jeffrey Slota were summoned to Joanna’s Hair Care, 216 Route 9 North for a reported burglary.  Employees of a nearby business discovered that the front window of Joanna’s had apparently been shattered during overnight hours.  It appeared that an unknown actor(s) threw a planter through the window and stole approximately $5 in coins from the register.  The detective bureau is conducting a follow-up investigation.

Arrest- On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., Officer Scott Anderson conducted a motor vehicle stop after a registration inquiry revealed that the owner’s driving privileges were suspended.  During the stop, Officer Anderson discovered that the driver, Lisa Reid, 50, of Edison, was wanted for contempt of court in Woodbridge Township.  Reid was arrested and later released on her own recognizance after posting $564 cash bail.
