Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 16, 2021 through December 23, 2021
Burglary- On Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 10:31 a.m., Officer Matthew D’Antonio and Detective Jesse Dalziel responded to a commercial burglary at Family Dentistry on Route 9. Officers discovered that an unknown actor(s) forcibly entered the business and stole minor items valued at $300. Damage to the business was estimated at $1,500. Gas Leak- On Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 3:34 p.m., Officer John Simonson was dispatched to the 100 block of Nautilus Boulevard for a reported smell of natural gas. Officer Simonson located a relief valve at the edge of the road that was leaking a large volume of gas. Several homes in the immediate area were evacuated while New Jersey Natural Gas contained the leak. Nautilus Boulevard was closed for several hours during the repair. DWI- On Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11:08 p.m., officers were requested at Wawa, 701 Route 9, in reference to an intoxicated female. Officer Scott Keefe located Susan Loudermilk in her vehicle that was parked in the lot. Loudermilk was arrested and charged with DWI, Refusal to Provide Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, and Unregistered Vehicle. She was released pending a Court date. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Police/Sheriff and Emergency Services Assist Deer from Water – December 10, 2021
On Thursday, December 9, 2021, at approximately 8:30 a.m., this agency received multiple phone calls regarding approximately 12 deer submerged in a lagoon near Capstan and Varuna Drives in Forked River. Lacey Police Officer Michael Hutman responded and upon arrival met with Lanoka Harbor Fire Chief Jack Conaty, members from the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department, Lacey Township Underwater Rescue and Recovery, and Undersheriff Brian Klimakowski of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office. All agencies began rescue efforts for the stranded deer. Ultimately, 8 deer were corralled in the water by the Lacey Township Underwater Rescue boat, and guided toward an area of wooded marsh. These deer safely exited the water without further incident. Additionally, 4 deer, which had separated from the group, were in need of physical removal from the cold waters. They were rescued from the waters and have since been relocated to a nearby wooded area. While it is not uncommon for deer to bear cold temperatures and swim in these waters, wandering into unknown lagoons becomes dangerous for both the animals and the public. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 2, 2021 through December 9, 2021
Warrant Arrest- On Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 8:06 p.m., Officer Martin Julian conducted a motor vehicle stop on the 700 block of Route 9 South in Forked River, after observing a violation. During the stop, it was discovered that the driver, Zalika Hamilton, 26, had an outstanding Ocean Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $450. Zalika was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. She was later released after satisfying the bail. Warrant Arrest- On Friday, December 3, 2021, at 9:10 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe conducted a motor vehicle at the intersection of Manchester Avenue and Evans Road. The vehicle owner, Rashaun Small, 23, was arrested on an outstanding Barnegat Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $450. Rashaun Small was transported to police headquarters and processed. He was released from custody after satisfying the bail. Criminal Mischief- On Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 4:01 p.m., Officer Michael Hyle responded to Lacey Liquors on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, in reference to a complaint of damage. Shoplifting / Warrant Arrest – On Friday, October 7, 2022, at 1:37 p.m., Officer Hutman and Sergeant Nick responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting. A store employee advised officers that they had observed a male take merchandise from within the store and immediately attempt to return it using an old receipt. The stolen items were valued at $35.97. Officers met with the suspect, Jason Hickey, 39, of Lanoka Harbor, and placed him under arrest. Jason was also found to have an outstanding warrant originating out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office. Jason was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting on a summons. Jason was able to post bail on the warrant, and was released pending a future court appearances. Theft – On Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 12:34 p.m., Officer Lee responded to the Lacey Shell for a report of theft. Upon his arrival, a gas station employee advised that a customer had just left the business without paying for gasoline. The gasoline was valued at $15.00. Criminal Mischief – On Friday, September 30, 2022, at 8:44 p.m., while conducting a check of Gille Park, Officer Swain discovered graffiti inside of one of the bathrooms. The value of the damage was estimated at $50.00. Theft – On Friday, September 30, 2022, at 9:11 p.m., Officer Swain met with a complainant who wished to report the theft of her son’s bicycle. The complainant advised Officer Swain that her son’s black and white Mongoose BMX bicycle was stolen from her Olds Street residence on Thursday, September 29, sometime between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The bicycle was valued at $250.00. Criminal Mischief – On Monday, October 3, 2022, at 8:09 p.m., while conducting a check of Gille Park, Officer Watkins discovered graffiti both inside and outside of one of the bathrooms. The value of the damage was estimated at $100.00. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – September 22 through September 29, 2022
Disturbance/Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 23, 2022, at 9:08 p.m., officers responded to the Lacey Inn for a report of a disturbance involving guests. Upon their arrival, officers made contact with one of the guests, Matthew Dambrosio, 33, of South Amboy. Matthew was found to have an outstanding warrant originating out of the Piscataway Municipal Court, and was placed under arrest. Matthew was transported to police headquarters where he was processed prior to being released on his own recognizance, pending a future court appearance. Shoplifting – On Monday, September 26, 2022, at 5:16 p.m., Officers Gant and Keefe responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting. The store employee advised officers that they had observed a male and female fail to ring up a number of items while at the self-checkout, then attempt to leave the store without paying for them. The stolen items were valued at $389.43. Officers met with the suspects, John Mimes, 25, and Ikarii Randolph, 32, both of Barnegat, and placed them under arrest. John and Ikarii were transported to police headquarters and charged with Shoplifting. John was charged on a warrant and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility, where he was lodged without incident. [...]
