Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Illegal Fireworks Enforcement Announcement – Lacey Township Police Department
Public Announcement - Now that the season for fireworks is upon us and everyone is looking forward to the Lacey Township fireworks display scheduled for Wednesday, July 3rd, it is important to remember that the possession or use of fireworks by the public is illegal. To maintain the safety and peace of the community, the Lacey Township Police Department will be strictly enforcing the state laws related to illegal fireworks. Anyone found to be in possession of fireworks or involved in the discharge of fireworks will be charged with the state statute, N.J.S.A. 21:3-2, and will be required to appear in municipal court. The Lacey Township Police Department has responded to more than 500 complaints from residents of illegal fireworks over the past three summers and the number of incidents has increased from year to year. Efforts are being made this summer to reverse that trend.
Department News – “COP Card” Program – Lacey Township Police Department
Department News - The members of the Lacey Township Police Department are excited to announce the return of the COP Card program after a 9 year absence. One of the most popular and enjoyable programs for the police department and families in our community will return for the upcoming school year for elementary through middle school age youth in Lacey Township. The program involves “baseball style” trading cards depicting members of the police department. There will be a card for each officer as well as approximately 28 specialty cards in the 70 card set. Youth in the community will have the opportunity to collect the cards, and upon collecting a complete set, will be eligible to win prizes. The program is designed to provide an opportunity for the youth in the community and the police officers to interact and promote a positive and trusting relationship for years to come. By having cards depicting each officer and providing a short bio for each as well, the community will be able to put a name to a face and get to know their police department better. Weekly Police Blotter – Press Release June 19th thru June 24th, 2013 . Recovered Handgun - On Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 11:48 p.m., a resident of the 900 block of Clifton Street in Forked River reported that unknown person(s) entered their residence when they were not home and stole various items. One of the items stolen was a black, Ruger, 357 revolver (handgun) with brown grips. On Tuesday, June 25, 2013, the stolen handgun was recovered in Franklin Township (Sommerset County). The matter is under continuing investigation. Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle & Criminal Mischief - On Sunday, June 23, 2013, at approximately 4:27 a.m., Officer Resetar responded to the area of Steuben Avenue for a report of a vehicle having damaged yards and mailboxes in the area. Upon further investigation, it was determined that 20-year-old Matthew Uveges of Forked River unlawfully took a work truck from a yard on Haines Street and purposely drove onto the property of several residences and destroyed mailboxes in the Lanlac Drive and Cranberry Hill section of the Township.
