Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. UPDATE: Burglary Arrest – Lacey Township Police Department – Sunday, July 28, 2013
Burglary Arrest - At approximately 4:45 a.m. on March 10, 2012, (17 months ago) officers responded to an alarm call at the Forked River Pharmacy. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a rear door ajar and determined that it had been pried open. Detectives from the Lacey Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department processed the scene recovering physical evidence including latent fingerprints. The pharmacy determined that prescription medications were stolen during the burglary. On the morning of Friday, July 26, 2013, detectives were able to further the investigation by arresting 24-year-old Daniel Costantini of Forked River after fingerprints recovered at the original scene in 2012 were matched to fingerprints in the criminal record database. Lacey detectives arrested Daniel Costantini at his Forked River home and charged him with burglary, theft of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal mischief. Costantini was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility after being unable to post $50,000 bail.
Drug & Alcohol DUI Checkpoint Operation – Lacey Township Police Department – Friday, July 26th, 2013
Lacey Township Drug & Alcohol DUI Checkpoint Operation The Lacey Township Police Department facilitated a coordinated, multi-agency Drug and Alcohol (DUI) Checkpoint along Route 9 South in Forked River during the five hour period of 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013, to 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013. In our continuing effort toward interagency collaboration and cooperation, the Lacey Township Police Department coordinated the checkpoint operation with five other law enforcement agencies. Patrol officers and Drug Recognition Experts (DREs) of the Lacey Township Police Department worked directly with Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office detectives, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9, Drug Recognition Experts (DREs) from the Manchester Township and Jackson Township Police Departments, as well as federal agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arm of the United States Department of Homeland Security. Assistance with lighting was provided by both the Forked River Fire Company and the Lanoka Harbor Fire Company. The checkpoint involved a coordinated process designed to ensure very little inconvenience to the motoring public. Over 750 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Update: New Jersey Civil Service Exam Application Period Ends September 4, 2013
The New Jersey Civil Service Commission Law Enforcement Examination (LEE) application period is currently open and will officially close on September 4, 2013. The Lacey Township Police Department hires its full-time, regular police officers from a pool of eligible candidates through the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJCSC) formal testing process for entry-level law enforcement. Any person interested in being considered for a police officer position with the Township of Lacey must apply with the state through the NJCSC website at http://info.csc.state.nj.us/Vats/WebAnno.aspx?FileNumber=17220 and then sit for the state exam which should be administered this fall. The Lacey Township Police Department does not consider applicants until the State of New Jersey scores the exam and supplies the township with a ranked list of eligible candidates. The new list will not be available until early 2014.
