Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release June 18th, 2014 thru June 23rd, 2014 . . Underage Consumption of Alcohol - On Monday, June 23, 2014, at 12:43 a.m., Officer George Resetar and Officer Evan Androcy responded to a Lawrence Drive residence in Lanoka Harbor for a complaint of a loud party. Upon arrival, the officers met with an 18-year-old resident who identified himself as the homeowner's son. The 18-year-old male reported that his parents were currently vacationing and unaware of the party. While the officers were speaking with the resident, a small group of individuals exited from the backyard. Upon speaking with the group, Officer Resetar detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the breath of a 17-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was turned over to the custody of his mother. A juvenile complaint was prepared for the underage consumption of alcohol on private property. Theft – On Sunday, June 22, 2014, at 1:04 p.m., the resident of Lancaster Court in Forked River responded to Lacey Township Police Headquarters to report a theft. Neighborhood Crime Alert (Stolen Vehicle/Resisting Arrest) – Lacey Township Police Department – Wednesday, June 18, 2014
Stolen Vehicle and Resisting Arrest - On Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 2:19 a.m., Officer Adam Ewart was on patrol in a marked police vehicle when he observed a red, 4-door Jeep Cherokee traveling north on Route 9 without working tail lights and failing to maintain a lane. Officer Ewart pulled up behind the vehicle as it made a left turn heading west on Lacey Road. The officer activated the patrol vehicle's overhead lights and attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop. The operator of the suspect vehicle failed to pull to the side of the roadway and instead continued traveling west on Lacey Road before turning onto Hoffman Road in Forked River. The driver and the passenger of the vehicle both jumped from the moving vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The driverless vehicle continued on Hoffman Road until crashing into a fence and a tree. Officer Ewart pursued the subjects in the darkness on foot, and once in the backyard of a nearby residence, he was able to briefly catch the male who was driving the vehicle. The male subject resisted arrest and engaged in a physical altercation with Officer Ewart. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release June 10th, 2014 thru June 16th, 2014 . . Counterfeit Money - On Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 10:29 a.m., Officer Dan Ricciardella responded to the Wawa at 800 Lacey Road in Forked River regarding counterfeit money. The store manager reported that within the prior hour, a white male in his 40’s, paid with three counterfeit $20 bills. The suspect purchased $60 worth of gift cards with the counterfeit money. The store manager also reported that the same suspect did the same thing a half hour prior within another Wawa at 444 Route 9 South in Forked River. He reportedly also passed three counterfeit $20 bills at that store as well. Security video is being obtained through Wawa management. Warrant (Arrest) – On Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 4:02 a.m., 34-year-old Laura Mooney, of Burr Street in Barnegat, called 911 to report that her boyfriend, 28-year-old John Sabie, of 755 Birch Road in Lanoka Harbor, was unconscious in the woods between Cedar Drive and the Bayberry development in Lanoka Harbor.
