Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Public Notice (Internet Harassment) – Lacey Township Police Department – Saturday, June 13th, 2015
Internet Harassment - The general public should be aware that the instances of harassment through social media and the Internet have continued to be an ongoing concern even after the passage of the New Jersey laws which criminalize some of the behavior. Most recently, an individual, under a false name, posted a very calculated and purposeful comment attached to an article that was published on a local Internet media outlet. The false posting was very inflammatory, as it openly criticized special needs students in the high school. What was immediately evident in an objective assessment of the posting as well as subsequent postings under that same fake name, was that the writer had a clear intent to direct a very negative backlash against a Lacey Township High School senior. The postings were clearly written to prompt negative attention and illicit an angry response from the public. This was evident in the fact that the person posting under the false name purposely used very detailed descriptors of an actual high school senior. Weekly Police Blotter June 2nd thru June 7th, 2015 . Traffic Accident & Aggravated Assault (Arrest) – On Sunday, June 7, 2015, at 12:05 p.m., Officer Daniel Ricciardella and Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the area of Route 9 and Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor for a report of a motor vehicle accident in the roadway. It was also reported that one driver had assaulted the other, and as a result, the other driver was on the ground unconscious and unresponsive. Upon arrival, Officers found a 50-year-old male from Robbinsville, NJ, unconscious in the roadway. The man was treated by members of Lanoka Harbor First Aid Squad and transported to Community Medical Center for treatment. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the other driver, 27-year-old Michael P. O’Hare, Jr. of N. Oak Road in Lanoka Harbor for Aggravated Assault after it was determined he punched the subject in the face with a closed fist rendering him unconsciousness. Michael O’Hare was transported to headquarters, processed, and charged with aggravated assault. Daniel LaRochelle of Robbinsville was issued a traffic summons for improper passing. Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspections (Saturday, June 6, 2015) - The Lacey Township Police Department, with the assistance of members of the Ocean County Sheriff's Department and the Manchester Township Police Department, conducted courtesy child seat safety inspections for dozens of parents, grandparents, and caregivers. The event was held between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department building on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor. Each inspection took approximately 20 minutes to complete. Participants were provided information on the proper installation and use of child seats by specially trained and certified child seat technicians. While the event was held to raise awareness and serve as a convenient method for residents to have their child seats inspected, the Lacey Township Police Department offers the service to residents throughout the year.
