Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Week #1- Cop Collectible Card Program – Lacey Township Police Department – Monday, March 28, 2016 thru Saturday, April 9, 2016
The 2016 Cop Collectible Card Program has begun and is currently in Week #1. The program began Monday, March 28, 2016, after assemblies were completed at each of the elementary schools and the middle school the week prior. The checklist which lists all of the Cop Cards and the locations where they may be collected may be printed out by clicking: Lacey Cop Card Checklist 2016. . . . The profiled cards for the period of Monday, March 28th, 2016 thru Saturday, April 9th, 2016 are as follows: Card #12 - Officer Michael Eden Sponsored by The Hesse Companies, 2215 West Lacey Road, Forked River Card #66 - Crossing Guards Sponsored by Lacey Township Board of Education, 200 Western Boulevard, Lanoka Harbor . These Cop Collectible Cards may be obtained at police headquarters as this week's (3/28/2016 - 4/9/2016) profiled cards. Most other cards in the set may be obtained through the sponsor locations listed on the Cop Card Checklist. Department News – Middle School Speedball Tournament – Lacey Township Police Department – Thursday, March 24, 2016
Lacey Twp. Middle School students compete in a speedball tournament on Thursday night, 3/24/16. Department News - Thursday night, March 24, 2016, was a night for intense and very competitive games of speedball at the Lacey Township Middle School with 118 motivated 7th and 8th graders showing up to participate in a double-elimination tournament which culminated in the tournament champions competing against officers of the Lacey Township Police Department. The tournament, organized by the Lacey Township Recreation Department and the Lacey Township Police Department, included free team t-shirts provided by the Lacey Municipal Police Foundation, as well as food and door prizes provided by Lacey Recreation and the Municipal Alliance. The tournament involved 11 teams of middle schoolers with the police officers serving as coaches and the biggest fans and cheerleaders for their respective teams. The participation far exceeded anyone's expectations with 118 students competing. Speed Bombers (red shirts) and Don't Take Candy from Strangers (white shirts) after Championship game (3/24/16). The competition was very intense with more than 20 matches being completed before the championship game between the undefeated co-ed "Speed Bombers" team and the undefeated "Don't Take Candy from Strangers" team. Weekly Police Blotter March 16th thru March 21st, 2016 . . Eluding (Arrests) - On Monday, March 21, 2016, at 5:41 p.m., Officer Brian Holt conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of Wawa, 800 West Lacey Road in Forked River, NJ. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 34-year-old Jennifer Whalen of 44 Bellflower Court in Toms River. As Officer Holt was conducting his investigation, Jennifer Whalen drove away and fled the scene. As the suspect vehicle was turning onto Lacey Road from the parking lot of Wawa, the front seat passenger, 30-year-old Brittany Bodzak of Lane Place in Forked River, NJ, jumped out of the moving vehicle. Officer Holt followed the suspect vehicle with his lights and sirens activated, but the driver refused to stop and ran a red light at the intersection of Lacey Road and Newark Avenue, before getting onto the Garden State Parkway northbound. Officer Holt chose not to pursue the vehicle and notifications were made to the surrounding law enforcement agencies. An outstanding Ocean County Sherriff’s Department arrest warrant in the amount of $5,000 was located for Jennifer Whalen.The Toms River Township Police Department was notified and later located Jennifer Whalen [...]
