Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – 2016 Civilian Recognition Award – December 23, 2016
The above picture (left to right) depicts Captain Patrick Ganley, Officer Jason Lee, Jordan Rensel, Officer Anthony Sarno, and Chief Michael C. DiBella, in the lobby of the Lacey Township Municipal Building after Jordan Rensel was presented with the 2016 Lacey Township Police Department's Civilian Recognition Award. On Monday, September 5, 2016, at 8:34 p.m., Officers Jason Lee, Anthony Sarno and Julie Barcalow were dispatched to the Lacey McDonald’s located at 404 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of an unconscious male on the floor of the men’s bathroom. A second dispatch reported that the patient was not breathing. While officers were en-route to the scene, 17-year-old Jordan Rensel, who was also at the Lacey McDonald's, immediately sprung into action and assessed the male. After determining the male was not breathing, Jordan began CPR and continued doing so until the male began breathing on his own. At this time Officers arrived on scene and continued providing emergency care until the arrival of Lanoka Harbor EMS and paramedics. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – December 15th through December 23rd, 2016
Shoplifting - On Friday, December 23, 2016, at 9:21 a.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a male shoplifter who fled the store. Officer Dalziel was further advised that the suspect was at the bus stop on the corner of Route 9 and Haines Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 34-year-old Jonathan A. White of Potomac Court in Barnegat, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $263.15. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Jonathan White was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting. Shoplifting - On Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 2:34 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 18-year-old Lauren C. Prowse of Drew Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $34.15. She was transported to police headquarters and processed. Lauren Prowse was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Officer Michael Verwey Nominated for Award – December 20th, 2016
The above picture depicts Officer Michael Verwey (left) after receiving his 2016 Nomination/Recognition, for being a top finalist in the 2016 Kimberly Smith Ames Award. The award was presented by the Ocean County Police Traffic Safety Officers Association and the Smith family. Officer Michael Verwey was recently honored for his efforts to get drunk drivers off the roads. He was recognized for being among the finalists for the 2016 Kimberly Smith Ames DWI Prevention Award, which was presented on Thursday, December 15, 2016, by the Ocean County Police Traffic Safety Officers Association and the Smith family. Officer Verwey is a 12-year veteran police officer. He was hired by the Lacey Township Police Department in 2013 and has been assigned to the patrol division where he makes DUI enforcement a top priority. Prior to Lacey Township, Officer Verwey served as a Police Officer for the Burlington City Police Department (two years), the Medford Township Police Department (seven years), and the Waterford Township Police Department (one year). Officer Verwey is a member for the Ocean County Fatal Accident Support Team (FAST) and a member for the Southern Ocean County SWAT team.
