Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. DiBella presenting an overview of the Police Department's efforts related to the heroin epidemic, just prior to the Senior Scams presentation for the Old Guard of Forked River, held at the Lacey Township Community Hall on Monday, January 16, 2017. On Monday, January 16th, 2017, the Lacey Township Police Department conducted a Senior Scams and Identity Theft presentation for the Old Guard of Forked River, held at the Lacey Township Community Hall, located at 101 Route 9 North in Forked River. Lacey Township Police Chief Michael DiBella and Lieutenant Paul Sullivan, Jr., were present. Lieutenant Sullivan discussed different types of frauds including but not limited to the international lotteries, IRS phone scams, electrical company phone scams, banking emails (phishing), and the more recent "Grandson phone calls" (where the caller acts as a grandchild and requests money to post bail for a bogus out-of-state DUI Arrest). Chief DiBella presented an overview of the department's efforts to curb the statewide heroin epidemic, including a short discussion on the department's recent enforcement efforts, along with education and preventative measures. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Multiple Drug Arrests – January 14th, 2017
Drug Arrests – On Friday, January 13th, 2017, at 3:25 p.m., the Lacey Township Police Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop on Alpine Street near Trenton Avenue in Forked River. An investigation at the scene resulted in the discovery of 65 bags containing heroin. The discovery of heroin led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 33-year-old Heather McMillan of Marine Road in Waretown, NJ, and two passengers, identified as 25-year-old Matthew Madelino of Buena Vista Road in Forked River, and 36-year-old Gerard O’Connor of Beach Boulevard in Forked River, for Possession of CDS. A short time later, Lacey Detectives executed a search warrant on the 800 block of Buena Vista Road in Forked River. The search yielded several medications including Oxycodone and Suboxone, both not legally prescribed. As a result, 57-year-old Nancy Madelino of Buena Vista Road in Forked River was arrested for Possession of CDS. All four subjects were transported to police headquarters, processed and charged on a criminal summons with Possession of CDS. Each was released on their own recognizance pending a court appearance.

Providing Alcohol to Underage Persons and Underage Possession of Alcohol – On Wednesday, January 11, 2017, Officer Dalziel was on patrol when he observed a suspicious incident involving two males and two vehicles in the 7-11 Store parking lot located on the corner of Route 9 and First Street in Forked River. Officer Dalziel ultimately conducted a traffic stop on one of the vehicles. An investigation determined that 24-year-old Michael A. Krasowski of Algonquin Trail in Forked River had just purchased alcoholic beverages and provided them to a 17-year-old male from Forked River. Michael A. Krasowski was issued a Special Form of Complaint for Making Alcohol Available to Underaged Persons and released at the scene. The 17-year-old male was issued a summons for speeding. In addition, the 17-year-old male from Forked River was later charged on a Juvenile Complaint with Underage Possession of Alcohol. Warrant Arrest – On Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 9:59 p.m., Officers Elton Copes and Patrick Watkins responded to the 700 block of Meadow Lane in Forked River to serve an arrest warrant.
