Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Weather Alert Update – Lacey Township Police Department – High Winds and Coastal Flood Warning – January 23rd and 24th, 2017
Weather Alert - The high wind warning and coastal flood warning remains in effect. The high wind warning will be in effect until midnight tonight, January 23rd, 2017. Winds will be in the range of 25 to 35 mph with wind gusts as high as 55 to 60 mph. The strongest winds will continue to occur through this evening, then gradually decrease. The high winds have already knocked down trees and power lines, and as a result, there have been power outages. As the strong winds continue, additional power outages are likely to occur. The coastal flood warning will remain in effect until 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, January 24th, 2017. Minor to moderate flooding is anticipated in low-lying areas with the high tide into this evening and once again tomorrow morning. Tomorrow's high tide on the New Jersey and Delaware oceanfront will occur between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m., and later on the back bays. Surge three to four feet above the astronomical tide this evening and possibly three feet tomorrow morning is expected. Residents are encouraged to secure loose items on their property, for example, patio furniture such as tables and chairs. Weather Alert – Lacey Township Police Department – High Winds and Coastal Flood Advisory for Monday, January 23rd, 2017
Weather Alert - The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning and coastal flood advisory for Monday, January 23, 2017. The high wind warning will be in effect from 3:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Winds will be in the range of 25 to 35 mph with wind gusts as high as 60 mph. The strongest winds are expected to occur during the daylight hours on Monday, and in areas closer to the coast, especially Ocean County. High winds are known to take down trees and power lines, and as a result, power outages are likely. The coastal flood advisory will be in effect from 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday. Minor tidal flooding is likely with Monday morning’s high tide. High tide on the New Jersey and Delaware oceanfront occurs between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. Surge two to three feet above astronomical tide. Localized roadway flooding is possible. Residents are encouraged to secure loose items on their property, for example, patio furniture such as tables and chairs. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – January 12th through January 17th, 2017
DUI Arrest – On Tuesday, January 17, 2017, Officers Julie Barcalow and Jason Lee responded to JR’s Liquors, located at 1000 Lacey Road in Forked River for an unrelated alarm. While at the scene, a seperate DUI investigation began. The investigation led to the arrest of 45-year-old James Frey of Green View Way in Toms River, NJ, for DUI. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. James Frey was released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and Consuming Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law Warrant Arrest – On Monday, January 16, 2017, at 11:05 p.m., Officer Michael Baldasari conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Caffrey’s, located at 440 Route 9 South in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, identified as 27-year-old Keith W. Hestermann, Jr., of North Penn Avenue in Forked River, on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $750. He was transported to police headquarters and processed.
