Weather Alert – The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning and coastal flood advisory for Monday, January 23, 2017. The high wind warning will be in effect from 3:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Winds will be in the range of 25 to 35 mph with wind gusts as high as 60 mph. The strongest winds are expected to occur during the daylight hours on Monday, and in areas closer to the coast, especially Ocean County. High winds are known to take down trees and power lines, and as a result, power outages are likely.

The coastal flood advisory will be in effect from 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday. Minor tidal flooding is likely with Monday morning’s high tide. High tide on the New Jersey and Delaware oceanfront occurs between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m.  Surge two to three feet above astronomical tide.  Localized roadway flooding is possible.

Residents are encouraged to secure loose items on their property, for example, patio furniture such as tables and chairs. Additionally, please make sure all portable basketball hoops, garbage cans, etc. are removed from the roadway and secured. Thank you for your assistance.
