Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Power Outages throughout Lacey Township – 7-9-2017
***** UPDATE 8:01 P.M. JULY 9, 2017 ***** THE POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED IN LACEY TOWNSHIP AND ALL TRAFFIC LIGHTS ARE FUNCTIONING Lacey Township has experienced a power outage throughout most of the township this evening at approximately 5:30 p.m. (Sunday, July 9, 2017). All of the traffic lights throughout the township are out, except for those traffic lights north of Lacey Road on Route 9 (except for Route 9 and Musket). The traffic lights are being controlled by police officers. As a result, residents are being asked to temporarily stay off the roadways for safety reasons until the power comes back on. The power company is currently working to correct the problem (believed to be several damaged transformers). Please note, this outage is also affecting Ocean (Waretown) and Barnegat Townships. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – June 29th through July 5th, 2017
Drug Arrest – On Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 9:15 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel was patrolling Hebrew Park, located at 324 Cedar Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the rear of the park. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of all four occupants for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Those arrested included a 17-year-old female from Bayville, NJ, a 15-year-old female from Lanoka Harbor, a 17-year-old female from Forked River, and a 15-year-old male from Forked River. All four were released at the scene to their respective parents. In addition, the 17-year-old female driver from Bayville, NJ, was issued a traffic summons for CDS in a Motor Vehicle. Brush Fire - On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at 6:35 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to the wooded area behind Brickwall Corporation, located at 2215 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a brush fire. The fire burned approximately four acres before it was contained by the NJ Forest Fire Service. The NJ Forest Fire Service determined the cause of the fire to be fireworks. The Lacey Township Police Department will be hosting our Juvenile Police Academy, at the Lacey Township High School, from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday July 1oth thru July 14th. There will be many different "staged" police related activities outside on the Middle School grounds. This will continue through the week so residents are being advised that they may observe a lot of police activity or may here loud noises and sirens coming from the area of the Middle School during this event. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release April 16th thru 22nd, 2013 . Ransacked Residence- At approximately 5:30 p.m., on Monday, April 22, 2013, Officer Julie Barcalow responded to a home located on Maui Drive, Forked River. The homeowner returned to check on their currently unoccupied Sandy damaged residence. Upon doing so, numerous components of the home were discovered missing. This burglary and theft occurred between April 2nd and April 22nd, 2013, when it was discovered and reported. The entire hot water baseboard copper piping system was removed from the home along with plumbing pipes, fixtures, and sinks. Portions of the home’s exterior gutters and leaders were also stolen. A value of the stolen items has not yet been calculated. Telephone Fraud – At approximately 3:20 p.m., on Saturday, April 20, 2013, a resident of Laurel Blvd., Lanoka Harbor, reported that he was contacted by telephone at approximately 1:00 p.m. from a male subject identifying himself as an employee from Microsoft. The caller’s phone number appeared as 315-625-1818. The caller informed the resident that there was a problem with his computer, and he needed to remotely access the resident’s computer to make the repair. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release April 8th thru 15th, 2013 Shoplifter - At approximately 7:21 p.m., on Monday, April 15, 2013, Officer Kymberly Gudgeon responded to Walmart concerning a male shoplifter being detained. Upon the officer’s arrival, Christopher Stoma, aged 18, of Barnegat was arrested for shoplifting. He attempted to steal an Apple Dock Connector and other merchandise totaling $49.91. Christopher Stoma was released on a summons after being processed. Theft from a Residence - At approximately 11:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 14, 2013, the homeowners of a Cedar Lake Point residence reported jewelry and cash stolen from their home. There was no sign of a forced entry into the home. The theft reportedly occurred while the homeowners were on vacation and a family member had guests inside the residence. The stolen items include: a ladies Zigzag diamond gold ring ($500), a men's Citizen Ecodrive watch, gold with blue face ($600), and $160.00 in cash. Shoplifter - At approximately 1:41 p.m., on Saturday, April 13, 2013, Officers John Cernek and John Simonson responded to Kohls concerning a male shoplifter that fled the store with stolen merchandise. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release April 2nd - 8th, 2013 . Credit Card Fraud – On Monday, April 8, 2013, a resident of Bayville reported credit card fraud that was facilitated in Lacey Township. The report involved the apparent use of personal identifiers to access the victim’s store credit card account to purchase thousands of dollars in gift cards from that same store over the course of a month. The victim had a store credit account that was not commonly used by the victim. The person perpetrating the frauds was able to make multiple purchases of gift cards at the store over the course of a month. Eluding/Endangering the Welfare of a Child – On April 6, 2013 at 10:30 p.m., Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas observed a vehicle with fictitious registration plates. Officer Tsarnas conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 9 and the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station at which time the vehicle fled from the scene. Officer Tsarnas pursued the vehicle to the parking lot of Longshots Bar, Rt. 9 Waretown, where the driver, David Donnamaria, age 45, of Waretown, NJ. was taken into custody.
