Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Junior Police Academy Graduation

Photo taken by Officer Noah Schaffer. *** 2017 Junior Police Academy Graduation *** On Monday, July 10, 2017, 20 eighth grade students began a week-long Junior Police Academy sponsored by the Lacey Township Police Department. The academy, coordinated by Detective Lieutenant Christopher Cornelius, was designed to offer recruits the opportunity to participate in a criminal investigation led by the Detective Bureau. The first day of the academy presented a crime scene that allowed each recruit to process and further investigate each phase of an actual investigation as the week progressed. The investigation ended on Friday, July 14, 2017, as the recruits testified at a mock murder trial. In addition to the investigation, each recruit participated daily in physical training challenges and were required to learn and utilize proper military etiquette. Additionally, the academy included Crime Scene Training, Court Room Testimony, Evidence Collection and Processing, Criminal Law, Interview and Interrogation, and Social Media Awareness. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Courtesy Child Seat Safety Check Today, July 15th, 2017
Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspection Event – The Lacey Township Police Department is hosting a courtesy (non-enforcement) Child Seat Safety Check today, July 15th, 2017, at the Lacey United Methodist Church, 203 Lacey Road, Forked River, during their Shore Fest event. The event will be held from 10 a.m until 2 p.m. Specially trained certified child seat technicians from the Lacey Township Police Department will be on site to conduct a courtesy child seat inspection of installed seats and to assist participants in the proper installation of child seats. The officers of the Lacey Township Police Department are dedicated to child safety. Over 80% of child safety seats currently installed in vehicles are either the wrong seats for the child being transported or are incorrectly installed. Technicians, will assist not only in the inspection of the seats but will also educate caregivers on the proper seat selection and installation. The event is being hosted by the Lacey Township Department. Inspections are expected to take approximately 20 minutes per vehicle. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release June 4th thru June 10th, 2013 . Theft from Residences (Arrest) – The Lacey Township Police Department Detective Bureau has concluded two theft investigations with the arrest of 24-year-old Brittney Gibson of Forked River. Brittany Gibson was charged with two counts of 3rd degree theft after allegedly stealing jewelry from different Forked River homes. Brittany Gibson reportedly took the items on separate occasions while visiting acquaintances at each home. The thefts occurred in July 2012 and April 2013. The thefts totaled more than $6,000. Brittany Gibson was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $25,000. Burglary and Theft (Car) -On Monday, June 10, 2013, at 7:36 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the 600 block of Elwood Street in Forked River for a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 and 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013, an unknown person entered the unlocked vehicle which was parked in the roadway. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release May 28 thru June 3, 2013 . Underage Possession & Consumption of Alcohol - On Saturday, June 1, 2013, Officer Kymberly Gudgeon and Michael Eden responded to the 500 block of Dugout Court for a loud party. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 19 year-old Alyssa Statile of Lanoka Harbor for underage possession of alcohol. She was released at the scene after being served with a criminal summons. The homeowner, Debra Fenton, was issued a criminal summons for making property available to underage persons for the consumption of alcohol. Underage Possession & Consumption of Alcohol – The Lacey Township Police Department has responded to numerous parties over the past month involving the underage consumption of alcohol by teenagers as young as 14 years of age. Both adult and juvenile charges have been filed related to several incidents. At least three incidents have involved teens being transported to the hospital for treatment related to over intoxication. The Lacey Township Police Department will pursue charges against any person who either provides alcohol to underage persons or makes property available to underage persons for the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release May 14, 2013 thru May 20, 2013 . . Drug Arrest and Warrants (Arrest) - On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at approximately 2:22 p.m., Officer Joseph Soto conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of a Lacey Road business. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of a passenger, identified as 33-year-old Rebecca Scott of Whiting, NJ, on three outstanding warrants. The warrants included: (1) Hackensack, NJ, in the amount of $2500; (2) an additional warrant from Hackensack in the amount of $1000; and (3) a warrant out of Robbinsville, NJ, in the amount of $500. During her arrest, she was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Rebecca Scott was charged with the Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on a criminal summons and released after posting bail. Criminal Mischief - On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 5:35 p.m., Officer Alan Abrecht responded to the 1200 block of Olds Street for criminal mischief to two separate vehicles.
