Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Ocean County Health Department KI Distribution Clinic and Event – August 29th, 2017
On Tuesday, August 29, 2017, the Ocean County Health Department is having a Potassium Iodide (KI) Distribution Clinic and event at the Lacey Township High School, located at 73 Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor. The event is taking place between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Residents living and/or working within a 10 mile radius of Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant may obtain or exchange their expired K.I. This event will be offering Health Screening Services including Blood Pressure Screening, Stroke Risk Assessment, Glucose Screening, Cholesterol Screening, and Medication Management. In addition, there will be Health Education Services including Alcohol and Drug Prevention, Intoxicated Driver Resources, Environmental Health, Communicable Diseases, and Emergency Preparedness. Furthermore the Lacey Township Police Department will be on site with our Project Medicine (Prescription Drug) Drop-box. The box provides the public with a method to properly dispose of unwanted medication in a safe and legal manner. Please note that no syringes or liquids may be dropped in the box. The drop-box is for medication only. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – 17 Residents From Lacey Township Graduate From County CERT Program
The above photo depicts in no particular order Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy, Lacey Township Police Chief Michael C. DiBella, Lacey Township Police Lieutenant Christopher Kenny, Ocean Township Police Lieutenant Scott Murphy, Ocean County OEM John Kirwin, and the graduating members of the Ocean County Sheriff's Department (OEM) Community Emergency Response Team, including 17 residents from Lacey Township. The graduation occurred on the evening of August 3rd, 2017. In June of 2016, I became the Emergency Management Coordinator for the Lacey Township Office of Emergency Management. I initially reviewed the office and looked for ways we could improve our services to the community, including ways that we could work together with our residents. I soon researched the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, and felt that it could be utilized right here in Lacey Township, during both emergency and non-emergency events, while at the same time involving our residents. The CERT program is a Nationwide initiative that is utilized to help train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, for example the local police department and office of emergency management, to provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a [...]

*** Free Narcan Training *** On Monday, August 14, 2017, from 6pm to 8pm, Narcan (Naloxone) training will be offered for free at the Forever Young Nursery School, located at 103 Lacey Road in Forked River. The event is being hosted by YPR of Ocean County (Young People in Recovery) and the training will be provided by Urban Treatment Associates, 808 Market Street in Camden, NJ 08102. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release August 20th thru August 26th, 2013 . DUI (Arrest) – On Tuesday, August 20, 2013, near 6:40 p.m., Officer Charles May was directing traffic at First Street in Forked River when the driver of a blue Jeep Wrangler failed to obey Officer May’s hand signals and verbal commands then continued driving east on First Street. A short while later, the vehicle and driver, 43-year-old George D. Hicks III of Annapolis Lane in Forked River drove back to the scene and demanded the name and badge number of Officer May. Upon speaking with George Hicks III, Officer May observed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of George D. Hicks III for DUI. He was issued summonses for DUI, reckless driving, and failure to obey officer’s commands. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Weekly Police Blotter – Press Release August 13th thru August 19th, 2013 . . Forgery & Theft (Arrest) – On Tuesday, August 13, 2013, 25-year-old Brittany Gibson of Parkside Drive in Forked River was arrested and charged with two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, forgery, and theft. The arrest stemmed from a report filed by Joseph Mazza of Leeward Court in Bayville on Monday, August 5, 2013, that Brittany Gibson stole his TD Bank Debit Card and used it to make a $100 purchase at Wawa (Forked River) and a $100 purchase at Walmart (Lanoka Harbor). He also reported that she stole a Waterford Crystal decanter from his vehicle. As a result of the investigation, Brittany Gibson arrested, processed and charged with the criminal offenses. Brittany Gibson was transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of $30,000 bail. Criminal Mischief & Trespassing – On August 15, 2013, at 8:15 a.m., Special Officer Moller responded to the Gille Park Skate Park in reference to criminal mischief to the skate park equipment. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release August 5th thru August 12th, 2013 . . Underage Consumption of Alcohol (Formal Charges) - On Monday, August 5,, 2013, at 8:04 a.m., Officers Barcalow and Eden responded to Jay Street in Forked River for a report of an intoxicated juvenile female in the roadway. Officers located the juvenile and confirmed that she was intoxicated and in need of medical attention due to her intoxication level. The juvenile was transported for treatment at the Community Medical Center in Toms River. As a result of the investigation it was determined that the consumption of alcohol occurred at a residence on Claire Road in Forked River and that the alcoholic beverages were provided by a male juvenile. The intoxicated female juvenile was charged with underage consumption of alcoholic beverages on private property and the male juvenile was charged with providing alcoholic beverages to a juvenile.
