Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Fire at Island Beach Distillery in Lacey Business Park – December 23, 2017
On Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 2:07 p.m., Lacey Township Police Officers were dispatched to Island Beach Distillery, located at 713 Old Shore Road in Forked River (Lacey Business Park) for a report of a fire with entrapment. Upon arrival, officers learned that a distillery within had exploded causing injury to the owner. The 38-year-old male from Forked River was conscious and alert, however sustained multiple burns to the lower half of his body. He was subsequently transported by Lacey EMS and Monoc Paramedics to Saint Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston, NJ. The Forked River Fire Department with the assistance of the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Ocean County Sheriff's CSI Unit assisted in the investigation. The Lacey Police Detective Bureau, along with the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office are on scene. The incident remains under investigation. -Chief Michael C. DiBella
Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Daytime Burglary Arrest – December 22, 2017
On Friday, December 22, 2017, at approximately 9:00 a.m., a resident of Roanoke Drive in Forked River, witnessed a suspected burglary to a home across the lagoon from hers. The caller witnessed a male subject break the glass of a sliding door and enter the Ranger Drive residence. The caller also alerted her son, who was able to provide dispatch with a description of the suspect’s vehicle. Officers responded and searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect or his vehicle. The homeowner, who was not home at the time of the burglary, was able to provide a list of items stolen from her home that included a specific list of jewelry. As the investigation continued, a suspect was identified as a person Lacey Township Police Officers had dealt with earlier in the morning. At approximately 7:00 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to Sinclair Avenue in Lanoka Harbor, for a suspicious person. Once there, officers spoke with 30 year-old Thomas Laffey, of Oak Road in Lanoka Harbor, who was sleeping in his parked vehicle. He was released at the scene without incident. Burglary(Auto) – On Thursday, December 21, 2017, at 12:13 p.m, Officer George Resetar was dispatched to a residence on Wellesley Road, Lanoka Harbor, in reference to a burglary to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that between 6:00 p.m. on December 20, 2017 and 9:00 a.m. on December 21, 2017, unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and stole $12.00 in change. The vehicle was parked in the victim's driveway at the time of the theft. Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 5:29 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey was dispatched to the area of Hometown Market, 725 Route 9 South in Forked River, in reference to a male subject who was harassing store patrons in the parking lot. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 38-year-old Jason M. Avalos of Shetland Drive in Lakewood, NJ, on an outstanding Hamilton Township Municipal Court warrant in the bail amount of $254. Jason M. Avalos was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on his own recognizance under the authority of the Hamilton Township Municipal Court Clerk. Dangerous Synthetic Drug – Warning – Lacey Township Police Department – Friday, April 25, 2014
Dangerous Synthetic Drug (Warning) - On Friday evening, April 18, 2014, the Lacey Township Police Department responded to an emergency call involving a Forked River teen who reportedly overdosed on an unknown hallucinogenic substance initially suspected as being LSD. The teen was transported to the Community Medical Center then transferred to the Jersey Shore Medical Center for critical care. The teen is currently recovering from the near death experience. The synthetic substance is not LSD; it is actually believed to be the synthetic psychedelic chemical known on the street as "25i" or "N-Bomb." The street names for the drug vary but tend to be based on its chemical composition 25I-NBOMe. Investigation has led to the belief that the synthetic drug may have been ordered by local teens via the Internet. The drug is believed to be distributed on very small, perforated, square tabs of paper similar to blotter acid (LSD) tabs. It is most commonly taken by placing the paper tab under the tongue. The substance is extremely dangerous and will likely lead to organ failure and death in those who use it. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release April 15th, 2014 thru April 21st, 2014 . . Criminal Mischief - On Tuesday, April 15, 2014, Officer John McKee took a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle. The victim reported that his motor vehicle was damaged while parked on the roadway on Enterprise Drive in Forked River. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. The words “HO HO” were spray painted on the side of the vehicle. Warrant Arrest - On Tuesday, April 15, 2014, Officer Adam Ewart was conducting an investigation into a traffic accident that occurred on Lacey Road at the intersection of Manchester Avenue in Forked River. One of the involved drivers, 21-year-old Brooke O’Rourke of Forked River, was arrested for two outstanding warrants. The first warrant was out of the Lacey Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750. The second warrant was out of the Berkeley Township Municipal Court in the amount of $100. Brooke O’Rourke posted $850 cash bail and was released from police custody. Weekly Police Blotter - Press Release April 7th, 2014 thru April 13th, 2014 . . Criminal Mischief (Township Property) - On Monday, April 7, 2014, at 10:23 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick observed the bathrooms in Hebrew Park to have sustained damage as a result of criminal mischief. The bathroom mirrors above the sink within the men's bathroom had writings scratched into them. "Dina and Logan 4Ever" was scratched into the mirror. The women's bathroom had similar damage. Several figure 8's were scratched into the mirror as well as some profanity. The damage is estimated at $200. Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 9:41 p.m., Officer Andrew Slota was on patrol when he stopped to speak to a male subject who was observed hitchhiking along Beach Boulevard. While speaking with the subject, it was determined that a $250 Ocean Township Municipal Court Warrant was active for the individual. Officer Andrew Slota placed Fred Beglinger of Forked River under arrest for the active warrant. Fred Beglinger was turned directly over to the custody of the Ocean Township Police Department.
