Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Manchester Avenue Traffic Detour – October 7, 2021
Due to a motor vehicle crash involving a telephone pole, Manchester Avenue in Lacey Township will be detoured at Grove Street and Evans Street. The detour is expected to last for the next few hours while the pole is repaired. Please utilize alternate routes if possible. Thank you.

Department News – Lacey Township Police Department – Coffee with a Cop – Monday, October 25, 2021
On Monday, October 25, 2021, from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., the Lacey Township Police Department with be hosting a "Coffee with a Cop" event. The event will be held at the Lacey Mall Dunkin', located at 344 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor (Lacey Township). Stop by inside and enjoy some free coffee and conversation with your Lacey Township Police Officers. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – May 12 through May 19, 2022
DWI/Possession of CDS- On Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 12:26 a.m., Officer Hyle observed a vehicle parked on Sandy Hook Drive with the driver slumped over the wheel and the engine running. Officer Hyle approached the driver, Kenneth Novak (32), of 711 Buena Vista Road, and observed wax folds (heroin) on the driver’s lap. Investigation at the scene revealed that Kenneth was under the influence. Kenneth was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possession of CDS. Kenneth was transported to headquarters where he was processed. Kenneth was charged with with multiple motor vehicle offenses including DWI, reckless driving, CDS in a motor vehicle, and prohibited parking. Kenneth was also charged with possession of CDS, being under the influence, and possession of certain prescription drugs on a criminal complaint summons. Kenneth was served with all applicable paperwork and released in accordance to John’s Law. Fraud- On Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 4:21 p.m., Officer Carver was dispatched to police headquarters to speak with an individual in reference to a fraud related incident. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – May 5 through May 12, 2022
Shoplifting- On Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 11:43 a.m., Officer Carver and Officer Emmett responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival officers met with the Asset Protection Associate, who indicated Natalie Sabie (34) of 755 Birch Road, had stolen $134.47 worth of merchandise from the store. Natalie was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was charged with shoplifting on a warrant and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility. DWI- On Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 2:49 p.m., Officer Simonson responded to the area of East Lacey Road and Davenports Landing for a report of a suspicious male sitting in a vehicle. Upon arrival officers located Joseph Sebastiano (58) of 2103 Llewellyn Parkway, sitting in his vehicle and displaying obvious signs of impairment. At the conclusion of the on scene investigation, Joseph and was arrested for DWI. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed. Joseph was served traffic summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving then released in accordance with John’s Law. Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – April 28 through May 5, 2022
Motor Vehicle Burglary- On April 28, 2022, at 10:39 a.m., Officer Carver responded to the 1200 block of Plover Court for a report of a vehicle burglary. The caller reported someone entered their unsecured vehicle and stole $1000 worth in property. This case is under investigation. Shoplifting- On April 30, 2022, at 2:19 p.m., Officer D’Antonio and Officer Hutman responded to Walmart for a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival officers met with the loss prevention employee, who stated he observed Frances Bezak, 70, of Waretown, attempt to steal $145.53 worth of merchandise from the store. At the conclusion of the investigation, Frances was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. Frances was charged with shoplifting on a complaint summons and released. Driving While Intoxicated- On May 1, 2022, at 2:58 p.m., Officer Lee responded to the parking lot of Lidle, for a report of an unconscious female, slumped over the steering wheel. Upon arrival Officer Lee located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, London Herrmann, 34, of 24 South Street.
