Code Red Reverse 911 Emergency Alert Registration
Lacey Township residents are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 notifications through Onsolve CodeRed on their cellular telephones. Click here to be taken to the account access page. The police department utilizes the Reverse 9-1-1 system to send out important telephone messages to residents based on the geographic location of each resident’s home telephone. While land-line, home and business telephones are already in the system’s database, cellular phone numbers are not in the system. This feature allows residents to register additional phone numbers in the Onsolve CodeRed system, so an emergency message related to Lacey Township will be received regardless of the resident’s location at the time. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – No-Shave November After Photo and Results
The above picture depicts the "No-Shave November" after-photo taken on the evening of Friday, November 30, 2018. Members of the Lacey Township Police Department and local Emergency Services Volunteers broke protocol in November for a good cause. Lacey Township Police Officers, along with members from the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department, Bamber Lakes Fire Department, Lanoka Harbor EMS Squad and the Lacey Township Dive Team, participated in “No Shave November” to raise awareness and funding for cancer charities. The initiative started, November 1, 2018, and concluded yesterday, November 30, 2018. No-Shave November is a fundraiser in which people put down their razor in order to raise awareness and funding for cancer charities. During the month of November 2018, residents in Lacey Township found some of their police officers and emergency services personnel to be on the “hairy side." Uniformed police officers and Emergency Services personnel were sporting beards and mustaches all in the name of fighting cancer. Funds raised by the “Lacey Township Challenge” (Lacey Police and Emergency Services) went to charities including, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Prevent Cancer Foundation and Fight Colorectal Cancer. Township News – Lacey Township Police Department – Oyster Creek Emergency Alert Siren Test – Today, December 4, 2018 – 12pm
*** Oyster Creek Emergency Alert Siren Test Scheduled for Today, December 4th, 2018 at 12pm *** Please be advised that the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station will be testing their emergency alert sirens, today, December 4, 2018, at 12 pm. The emergency sirens will sound simultaneously for three (3) minutes during the test. The emergency sirens are positioned within a 10-mile radius of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station. Residents should be aware that the intent of the emergency alert sirens is to advise people to immediately tune to the emergency broadcasting system for direction in an actual emergency. Weekly Police Blotter June 22nd thru June 28th, 2016 . . Heroin Distribution (Arrest) - On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 22, 2016, Lacey detectives conducted a traffic stop on Western Boulevard. The stop was conducted as part of the completion of an ongoing Heroin distribution investigation. During the stop, the driver, 33 year-old Brian Cleary of 536 Devon Street in Forked River, provided detectives with false information. During a subsequent search, 435 bags containing Heroin were located in the engine compartment of Cleary’s vehicle. Brian Cleary was arrested and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility after being charged with Possession of Heroin, Distribution of Heroin, and Intent to Distribute within 1000’ of the Mill Pond Elementary School. His bail was set at $90,000 by Ocean County Superior Court Judge Melanie Appleby. A K-9 Unit assisted from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the search. Warrant Arrest - On Monday, June 27, 2016, at 1:48 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno observed a vehicle speeding on Cedar Avenue in the area of Hebrew Park in Lanoka Harbor. Weekly Police Blotter June 15th thru June 21st, 2016 . . DUI (Arrest) – On Monday, June 20, 2016, at 12:06 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle on Route 9 near the intersection of First Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 48-year-old Paul M. McClung of Jacqueline Court in Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for DUI. Paul McClung was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and then charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. The vehicle was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. DUI with MVA (Arrest) - On Sunday, June 19, 2016, at 9:00 p.m., Officer Julie Barcalow responded to the parking lot of Family Dollar, 776 Lacey Road in Forked River, for a report of a one-car motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene indicated that a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck had run over a curb and struck a tree. Further investigation led to the arrest of the driver, 52-year-old Raymond Ramos of Trenton Avenue North in Bayville, NJ, for DUI. Weekly Police Blotter June 8th thru June 14th, 2016 . . MVA & DUI (Arrest) – On Sunday, June 12, 2016, at 5:33 a.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the intersection of Lacey Road and Manchester Avenue in Forked River for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Investigation at the scene indicated that a vehicle was traveling south on Manchester Avenue and struck a vehicle that was stopped, pushing that vehicle into another stopped vehicle. Further investigation led to the arrest of 33-year-old Michael Meyer of Brightwood Drive in Forked River, NJ for DUI. Michael Meyer was transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with DUI and Reckless Driving. The vehicle he was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law. Burglary & Theft – On Sunday, June 12, 2016, at 1:15 p.m., Officer Noah Schaffer responded to a Longwood Drive residence in the Barnegat Pines section of Forked River for a report of burglary. The victim reported that between 10:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered his home and stole $22,700 worth of his property.
